Nintendo DS Wi-Fi at McDonalds! -10/19/05- | Press Release 
Nintendo has signed an agreement with Wayport, a leading provider of wired and Wi-Fi high- speed Internet access in public locations, to extend Wi-Fi service to Nintendo DS(TM) users at nearly 6,000 McDonald's restaurants across the United States. Through the agreement with Wayport, Nintendo will offer complimentary access to Nintendo(R) Wi-Fi Connection, the video game giant's new wireless gaming service that goes online Nov. 14. "This agreement with Wayport will bring countless people together to play games in a single, simultaneous wireless community," says Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales & marketing. "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is simple to use. Beginning with free access at participating McDonald's, we have removed one of the major barriers that have kept people from going online to play games." "By enabling Nintendo DS customers to access Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection via our Wi-Fi World(R) network and business model at McDonald's, we are continuing to drive more customers to the restaurants we serve and increase the relevancy of Wi-Fi to a broader customer base," said Dave Vucina, CEO of Wayport. "Nintendo is a pioneer in providing a new way for their customers to play the games they want to while away from home or the office, and McDonald's is the perfect venue based on their ubiquity and accessibility." Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection creates a welcome, inviting community where gamers of all kinds can log on wirelessly and begin playing favorite franchise games like Mario Kart(R) DS and Activision's Tony Hawk's American SK8Land, and future titles such as Animal Crossing(R): Wild World and Metroid(R) Prime Hunters. Game play will be free, and users will be able to connect easily to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in a variety of ways. When a user brings a Nintendo DS unit and a Wi-Fi-enabled game into a Wayport-enabled McDonald's, the user simply launches the game in Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection mode. No setup is required. From home, if the user already has a Wi-Fi network, the Nintendo DS unit will connect directly to it with minimal setup procedures. Those who have a high-speed Internet connection such as cable or DSL, but no wireless network, can use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, which will plug into the USB port of a PC running Windows XP to create a wireless access point to connect a DS to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector will be sold exclusively on Nintendo.com. Finally, Nintendo DS owners who want to play games at Wi-Fi locations outside McDonald's or their home can use a laptop computer and the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector to access Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector enables the Nintendo DS to share an Internet connection established by a PC, providing a conduit to play games via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Updates: Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon, and Pokemon Torouze! -10/14/05- | Following the recent revelations from Japanese gaming magazines, the official Japanese Pokemon website has been updated with more clearer images of Pokemon Ranger. Also, there's more images of Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon and Pokemon Torouze, and new videos for both of these titles. Pokemon Torouze  
First off, Pokemon Torouze, the Pokemon puzzle game will be released next week in Japan, on October 20th, 2005. Game Summary Pokemon Ranger features is a new type of RPG game, featuring a Pokemon Ranger as the main character. As a Pokemon Ranger, you're suppose to defend nature (the Pokemon). The game will have some kind of connection with Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl (which will be released sometime in 2006 as well, though Pokemon Ranger is expected to be released first). The Pokemon Ranger game is based on the next Pokemon movie, which will be released in Japan in Summer 2006. |

The Pokemon title series events begin in November 2005 with the City Championships, followed by State Championships, Regional Championships, and National Championships leading up to the 2006 Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) World Championships in August. POP programs, events, tournaments, and leagues allow the thousands of players across North America to compete in a fun environment while strengthening their Pokemon TCG strategies, math, and reading skills. Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon: Blue Rescue Force for the Nintendo DS and Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon: Red Rescue Force for the GBA will be released in Japan on November 17th, 2005. There is currently no US release date. Game Summary Pokemon Mysterous Dungeon is an adventure where you as the player will be turned into a Pokemon. You will live in a world that is inhabited all by Pokemon, and you'll be able to speak to your fellow Pokemon. You will create a Pokemon Rescue Team and have adventures rescuing other Pokemon. |
Pokemon Game Boy Micro! -10/08/05- | 
It didn't take long for Nintendo to make a Pokemon themed Game Boy Micro. The new Pokemon Game Boy Micro will be released in Japan on November 17th, 2005 (the same day Pokemon Mysterious Dunegon is set to release in Japan). Pre-ordering begings on October 20th through November 16th. The Pokemon Game Boy Micro has a silhouette of Pikachu on the right side of the handheld, just above the two buttons. It will be sold for 12,000 yen, which is the same retail price for a normal Game Boy Micro. No word yet on whether it will be released in the US in the future. |

The official Japanese website for the 8th Pokemon movie featuring Rukario has now been replaced with a page notifying visitors to look forward to the 9th Pokemon movie in Summer 2006 (the Pokemon movies in Japan are regularly released in the summer).
