Pokemon Emerald Ultimate Frontier Battle Brain!

Fourteen finalist Pokemon(R) masters will meet on April 30 at Seattle's famous Space Needle to determine who will be crowned the "Pokemon(R) Emerald" Ultimate Frontier Battle Brain.
 

The United States and Canada have been divided into seven competitive Battle Frontiers for a monthlong series of knowledge tests of Pokemon characters and their abilities. Two finalists from each Battle Frontier bested more than 36,000 contest registrants during the "Pokemon Emerald" Frontier Battle Brain competition online. Entertainment industry veteran and Emerald City ambassador Grant Goodeve will host the final battle as the finalists compete to win a trip for two to the new Pokemon Park in Nagoya, Japan.

 

"These competitors represent the best of the millions of Pokemon fans," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "The Battle in Seattle will put their skills and brains to the test and crown the 'Pokemon Emerald' Ultimate Frontier Battle Brain."

 

The "Pokemon Emerald" Frontier Battle Brain competition is being held in anticipation of the May 1 release of the Pokemon Emerald video game for Game Boy(R) Advance SP. More than 146,000 Pokemon fans already have placed a deposit to pre-register to buy the game. Pokemon games remain extremely popular and typically sell more than 1 million copies each. "Pokemon(R) FireRed" and "Pokemon(R) LeafGreen" were the top two selling games (respectively) for hand-helds in 2004, selling more than 2.4 million combined. "Pokemon Emerald" is rated E for Everyone. To date, more than 136 million Pokemon video games have been sold worldwide.

Nintendo of America Inc., distributor of both video and trading card games for the Pokemon franchise, detonates a new expansion of the card game with the announcement of the May 9 release of the Pokemon Trading Card Game: EX Emerald. Legendary Pokemon come to life once again to create some of the strongest forces to date.

 

EX Emerald bursts with over 90 new cards, including holographic basic energy cards, creating new strategic options. Powerful new Trainer cards wield abilities that will speed up the game and challenge the use of many of the Evolved Pokemon's Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies. The Legendary Regice, Regirock and Registeel are just three of the new Pokemon-ex available. EX Emerald offers players the opportunity to battle Legendary Pokemon of the Hoenn region, as well as discover a new forme of the popular Deoxys. Finally, the set offers even more of the popular and powerful Pokemon-ex cards.

 

The expansion will be available in two 60-card theme decks, Pokemon TCG: EX Emerald Wildfire and Pokemon TCG: EX Emerald Hydrobloom, as well as nine-card booster packs.

Each pack features nine randomly inserted game cards (five common, two uncommon, one rare, one new holographic parallel card or holographic basic Energy card). Theme decks include a 60-card deck, including one holographic card, a card list, game coin (with the Energy symbol design of lightning and water), damage counters, an updated rulebook and a one-player playmat.

US Youth Soccer and Pokemon Team Up!

US Youth Soccer and Pokemon has teamed up to offer the "Pokemon US Youth Soccer All-Stars," a scholarship that will be offered this summer for their achievements on and off the field. US Youth Soccer is the country's largest youth sports organization with over 3 million members. Members can apply by submitting essays about the program's values and is not judged solely on athletic achievement.

The Nintendo World Store Opens on May 14th!

The Three New Pokemon Revealed!

The three new Pokemon are now revealed in the newest issue of Coro Coro magazine.

 

From top to bottom of the image, Manyula is believed to be the evolution of Sneasel. The next Pokemon, Usohachi, is believed to be a the pre-evolution of Sudowoodo. And finally, Manene, who is believed to be the pre-evolution of Mr Mime.

 

Pokemon Height and Weight (as listed in Coro Coro)

Manyula - Height: 1.1m, Weight: 34kg

Usohachi - Height: 0.5m, Weight: 15kg

Manene - Height: 0.6m, Weight: 13kg

 

Rukario's Type

The official eighth Pokemon movie website has release a new trailer of "Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero," which stars Mew and the new Pokemon, Rukario. The new trailer showcases the three Regi Pokemon that will be in the movie: Regirock, Registeel, and Regice.

The new PokePark themed Nintendo DS will be released in Japan in May 2005. The metallic blue Nintendo DS uses the PokePark logo on the cover and a silhouette of Pikachu on the right of the top screen.
