Default Question/Suggestion

I don't know what i'd call this but i think it would be really cool if you could have like a set font/color/bold/italics/underline you use that it would be set at always if you choose to, and you could change it whenever.

The question is, has this been suggested before and is it a good idea?

It has been suggested before, but never implemented. It's not really a big deal, you kinda just get used to selecting which codes you use.

If you have Firefox, there's an add-on that allows you to do that and I've seen a few people with it.

@Jack: Is there no way to have it as a sort of add-on to vBulletin? Like an upgrade?

I guess it's just me being lazy but it'd be a cool feature I think. But I bet that would be something that vBulletin would have to do.

Yeah. It'd be like AIM and MSN where you can choose a default font.

Checked. vBulletin doesn't have the feature, so there's no way we could add it even if we wanted to.

In that case, are there any firefox users out there who could give us a very brief explanation?

I remember a thread Nick_Roge posted a while back. It should help any Firefox users that are interested in the add-on.

End of all "can I make my text this color every time I post" threads!

Actually Jack there is one thing that is similar to what he's suggesting... Where you can pick colour and font type... :)

I could link to the forum where that plug is, but it's against the rules.. So if your interested I can ask what that plug is called..

Well if you really want it then just copy and paste it every time you post so you don't go through all that tiring and exhausting clicking.

It would be a nice feature, but it's not that needed. :/

I'd rather click. :/

Thing is, this is a good idea, so I'm pretty surprised that vBulletin doesn't have it. Then again, people having different defaults could make things complicated...

How would it make things complicated? May I ask.

Well, it was that or lose some space to post. Though it seems negligible, but still.

It's just that the default isn't supposed to need tags. However, if your default is different from someone else's default and you quote that someone else, whose defaults should we go with? Since going with the default default (yes, defaults sometimes have defaults) could make them both have their defaults require spoiler tags... Or we could just go with that anyway.

...

Oh never mind. Forget I said this. :X
