Music Section

[Gold Rush]

I was thinking we should have a music section in “Other Boards”

Basically what would happen is people would post their Singing, or them playing their musical instruments, and people would give feedback and stuff. People like MK, Angela, Finch and Kayla sing, while I’m pretty sure there will be quite a number of people who play a musical instrument. I think this would be a fun thing to have where people can give good criticism and stuff.

So uhm discuss I guess, and remember it’s only a suggestion :x

Well thats abit too specific, mabey Like Entertainment, so it includes films/TV, theatre and .etc?

There really aren't enough musicians on the forum to warrant an entire board for their songs and such. I'm all for the idea of perhaps just opening a single big thread in Other: Chat or Other: Entertainment... Or simply allowing them to create their own threads in those sections as they have been doing.

Just make a thread like the User Factfile one for everyone to keep their singing and such.

I'm actually for it. I noticed that the number of musicians here, though small, is growing. Besides, which board started out with many threads? That way people can reply to them individually.

I think that'd be a pretty good idea, and I think this'd work well. I know there's the Podcast-thingy where members and that chat, so why not a music board/thread? Also there appear to be quite a lot of musicians that I'm sure are pretty talented and would support this idea. :o

This is a completely different matter to the Podcasts, buti get what your trying to say, i think its best there should just be a sticky thread for it atm, untill we get a certain idea of how many musicians there are, on second thoughts i would like a music section, ive started going into music/beats production and this would give me a chance to get some honest feedback and help.

I agree with Crazy on the thread thing, Also, people shouldn't even be making threads in Other: Chat about their music. That's not the correct section for that.~

Just like we wouldn't want people to make threads about their pics, we don't want them to make threads about their singing or playing instruments. Because like pictures, they're not always good. :3

So eh, yeah. I think we could make a single thread about that stuff. PE2K is already in that single-thread kind of style. [One birthday thread, one leaving/coming back thread, etc]

How about limiting each member to one thread in that board. That should fix it all.

And this kind of thread is different from birthday threads or leaving/coming back threads. You're showcasing your talent, it's something people comment on. It's more like an art thread in this manner than anything else. Music is art.

Now that the idea of a single thread has been said, I kinda like that idea more. It'd be like the WDYLL thread, but for people showcasing musical talent... it could be the 'What do YOU or YOUR INSTRUMENT sound like?' thread :o

Uhmm that would make it really cluttered. Having one post for each person to keep their music would be so much simpler.

I think this is the best idea so far. Although I was talking with various people (especially May) about this kind of idea and we were thinking of setting something a little broader up. A thread where people can post music, videos, all kinds of multimedia content that wouldn't fit anywhere else and that showcases their talent/individuality. A little like a podcast but more... "open source" I guess?

Anyone up for that?

Really, in any case it has the same potential as the Art Boards, the only mixed board to have sections of its own.
