PE2K has its own Shoddy Battle Server! Feel free to discuss and ask any questions you need here, or by sending a PM to Finch.

To connect manually to the server, use the following settings-

Host: 75.127.124.36
Port: 2009

That would be awesome if Pe2k got a shoddy server!

And just an idea.... If we couldn't get 1 person to host the server you could have 5 or six people host the server on shifts.

A shame that is but I belive when people switch computers you have to re-regeister on the server when you change computer host.

Uh-huh.
One person can't keep their computer on 24/7.
Not even two or three people.
Think about their electric bill.
KOB has a great idea on having five or six people host the server on shifts.

Sorry, but that's the only way I can help you out.

I have confirmed that shifts are possible, but they are problematic. You see, if we work in shifts, the host IP address will change each time. Meaning, that each person will be running a different server. Meaning, that once someone's shift ends, everyone on the server would be booted out. Plus, they would have to remember several IP addresses, and what time to use what IP adress.

In conclusion, people working in shifts would just be a major inconvenience for everyone. I'm sorry, but it has to just be ONE host.

Dam thats a dissapointment but oh well. It'sironic how most people won't the server but they won't host. I would but having a lab top and a computer that dose not accept the download is the nail in that coffin.

It's a good idea, but frankly, it will fail.

At PokeBeach we tried the same thing. Kevin got the server up, made a rating system, created a leader-board, and had the server up and running 24/7. The problem is that people get bored of it after awhile. In the beginning we normally had 20+ people on, but afterward, we rarely had anyone on.

Lastly, it took Kevin four+ months to get everything operational. And let me just say, Kevin has a lot of contacts over at Smogon. If you guys can even get the server and leader-board up, I will be amazed.

Wow... So negative. I think that it could be done, just because it didn't work once doesn't mean that it will never work.

He wasn't being negative he is being honest, and it is the truth. Getting it up will be way to much work for only members to handle.

I would like there to be a server and I would go on it a lot but I don't think it would last long if it does get made. Worth a shot though.

Why can't we just use another server for this? I mean, a pe2k only server would be good, but it's unneeded.

He is correct.

You would need alot of help making the server as well, it would be way to hard to manage it all.

Yeah making a server is hard,I tried like alot of times every time it failed.
