Default Flustered by Kecleon...

This is something that's kind of had me flustered ever since the first installments of the PMD games, but I was wondering if anyone has actually managed to recruit Kecleon in any of the games. I swear doing so is harder than trying to evolve feebas into milotic in the main games.

No, but I need to train my guys a bit higher.

Best odds of recruitment (they are listed as "Very Hard" to recruit), would be Level 90+ with a Friend Bow attached. Hit hard (Agility might be a good idea), or they will kill you 0o

No kidding... Well, I knew they were hard to get, but level 90? Yikes... No wonder I keep getting massacred... I tried with the Friend Bow several times and failed even when I did ko one. Thanks for the tip!

I don't bother with the Kecleons...unless I have maximum power. Those level 90+ things are harder to knock over. Then they adapt too fast to what you fired at it. My level 100 Roserade couldn't even make a DENT in it!

I had one in my PMD1 Blue until I restarted new game. ^^'

It does take a while, but a level 100 Pokemon with a friend bow is the best you're gonna get.

And Kecleon rule. =D

Ooh, more sad stories. I had a Venusaur in PMD: Blue that I was able to KO several Kecleon with and he had a friend bow on at the time, but still nothing. Like I said, it seems worse than trying to evolve feebas in the regular games.

Sorry your Roserade didn't do much to them, AshMistyMayFan. Did you try paralyzing them first. I find it helps more than any other status problem.

Also, Lunar Latias, cool to hear that someone actually managed to get one. Too bad you lost it when you restarted though. But, yeah, Kecleon is amongst my favorites from the third gen because they're so nightmarish when raised right.

I did it once with two lvl 54s and two 46s, it was really hard though.

PS Evolving Feebas into Milotic isn't hard at all.

For some reason, just as I try to reach my goal of getting all the Pokemon, I get up to like around 350 or so, my game 'fizzles' out on me. Well, the one Time game I had, accidentally dropped it in some water so maybe the water took something out of it. Then the Dark game I had dropped a few times, like something broke free inside the game or something. So, I started over on Dark hoping to get the goal of all Pokemon caught.

Haven't swiped from the Keclon in Dark yet, you can't get a good Trawl orb in that game! I hate the Treasure Town Kecleons, they never stock on revive seeds. I have to do like a dozen Sentry duties just to get revive seeds restocked in my Pokemon training.

I'm in the process of deciding on which of the 'Fast Friend' Pokemon I'll send after Kecleon. I was thinking of experimenting with Roserade when it gets to level 100 again in Dark II, and have it eat a Violent seed. I noticed that when I fed it to my level 51 Pikachu vs. Darkrai, I knocked it out with a 335 Discharge, so maybe the key to the Kecleon is have a supply of Violent seeds and eat one to max out your power and then hit the Kecleon.

Actually, Feebas has been a real nightmare for me, atucker22. I could never catch one in Sapphire, Ruby, Diamond, or Pearl, but a few months ago, I went back and replayed Emerald for the umpteenth time and, by chance, managed to catch one. I immediately bred a couple of them, one surprisingly that was Rash-natured, which they say is best for raising the Beauty rating, and transferred them to my DP games, but none of them have evolved even after I made sure that they just got Dry poffins. Kind of got PO’d by that too, and recently just gave up.

Also, AshMistyMayFan, the Treasure Town Kecleon in my copy of Explorers of Time sell reviver seeds fairly often, but I usually burn through them so quickly that I go on sentry duty too just to keep a good stockpile. Not that I’m reckless in the games, just I try and raise several low-level creatures at once while doing missions in the harder levels (Mt. Mistral and Blizzard Island particularly). On the other hand, I’ve got quite a surplus of Secret Slabs and Mystery Parts after four times of not getting them at all, even several Golden Apples.

PMD is one of those games I can keep playing over and over. I think Kecleon is hard to capture, because it installs a new since of challange... Just keep trying, you'll get him.
