When you first played Red, Blue or Yellow, whichever you got.

I thought it was the nuts that you could type in your name. I remember vividly telling everyone teh game knew my incorrectly spelt name >.>

I also didn't realise you could save, so spent the first few days choosing my pokemon from Oak again, and being confused as to how it leveled down.

Hmm, the only thing I can think of is being too liberal with HM moves. I didn't realize you couldn't get rid of them, so a couple of my main pokémon had some lesser powerful HM moves instead. Not that stupid, but, eh, could have been a better way to do things than just randomly giving different pokémon HM moves.

Called my guy Poopy and the rival Cool because I thought you got to choose who you wanted to be.
I also caught a Magikarp, a Cubone and a Zubat with a Master Ball on three different games.

I was like four though, so meh. :p

Well I'm replaying Pokemon blue as it's months 'till England get Platinum (Or so I'm told)
and I just beat the Slowpoke guy you need to have not battled to get Mew.

and I couldn't turn off as I was just before Mount Moon on last save

I got bored and restarted over. Erased all 100+ hours of data.

Got my Pokemon up several levels... and then forgot and turned off the game without saving.

Still do that on occasion.

Trained the dewgong you get on Cinnibar Island on cycling road using only pay day for money, then it stopped obeying me because it was lvl 70. I didn't know how to get to saffron city

In yellow it took me and my dad a few hours to find out what I needed to do to get Pikachu.

We failed so my dad got a game guide so we knew what to do.

I killed Entei. Then saved. (Ironically, I'd encountered him directly after seeing the third Pokemon movie).

OMG!! I did the same thing! Like an idiot(well, I couldn't read well yet) I never read the manual and I kept restarting over and over again because I did not know there was a save option! I always wondered how people got through the game in one sitting...

Now, I know there is one, just so you know.

Oh even more wrong, I never got the master ball in saphire! You had to get it in the team aqua base, I went through the base, but never picked up the master ball. Later, the base closed up so I could never get it! I wondered why I never had a master ball to catch kyogre(I killed it too..) or rayquaza(caught it with timer balls)I later learned that you got it there...
