Default [SU] The Merines - RP Started, SU's Still Open. [SU]

Let’s begin at the beginning. Or should I say, before the beginning.

We live on Earth. We clutch hopelessly to this spinning globe that is hurtling through space, always on the same track, totally dependent on its bright life-source. It’s never changing. Day after day, all the way through time, its course barely altering as it rotates.

Let’s go a little closer, to the surface of the Earth. Despite the destroying of natural habitat, there is less and less ground for the humans to habit. Why? Because, taking up the land isn’t enough. They have to make the sea swallow it up due to melting ice.

But that’s enough of the dismal, grey, bleak planet named Earth. The human inhabitants are so caught up in their science and technology and fancy gadgets that they can’t see past their own noses.

Shame.

Because if they looked a little harder... who knows? Maybe they’d find the solution to their problems.




Imagine.

Imagine the sky.

No, scratch that.

Imagine a colossal bank of clouds that stretch in a circle below the border between the sky and the universe. Imagine it. Imagine the fluffy white tinged with soft rose, with pale crimson, with glaring orange, with pastel violet. Now imagine a gaping hole in the centre of the cloud bank, about half the size of the entire globe. Imagine swirls of mist, of dark light and every shade of blue imaginably. Imagine you could trail your hand through it... put it right through. What would be on the other side?

Imagine.

There is a legend that, despite its long history, and the fact that it gets altered, poked, covered up and buried, always seems to resurface whenever it is called for, or whenever it gets the feeling that it’s needed. Legends are like that, you see. They’re arrogant things that always believe that they’re true and that they’re better than every other story or myth in existence. Actually, they’re generally all the same. But they don’t like that either. They always demand to be independent and refuse to be remotely similar to anything else. But after saying all of that, this legend doesn’t seem to be that way at all. If one takes time from his day to focus upon this story, he may find that it has a soft air of beauty, perhaps with a teasing, gentle smile that’s begging to be kissed but he can never quite get there quick enough. He may find that it’s made up deeply of nothing but some memories, something that is going to be, a soft sigh, a whisper of a dress. But then he may find that, after reading said legend, that there is lot more to beauty than just a pretty face.

Reality.

It is 2013. The sinister criminal syndicate Cruxis is gradually taking hold of the large, modern city of Eternia. From a weed that nobody bothered to dig up into a full-grown Venus flytrap, Cruxis lured the buzzing, unsuspecting citizens into their ominous traps.
Flooding the streets of the city with drugs, violence and plans to seize the entire planet, it has spread fear and uncertainty throughout the citizens of Eternia and indeed the world.

But something is there. Something is there, something that they attempted to bury out of sight. A legend forged long ago stares at them in the face determinedly and Cruxis stare back, their faces cold but unable to meet its gaze. What is this legend?

It is said that in a time of great peril, an angel will come down from the skies to save the city of Eternia and perhaps all of Earth: an angel with great powers, a mystic mind, and beauty never to be matched - The Merines. And along with this angel, there is said to be an even greater danger, one to wipe out Cruxis all together... and alongside this heavenly saviour, there is supposed to be her guardians.

The warped, criminal mind behind the whole of Cruxis seems to know more about this legend than anybody else. Where has this saviour come from? Ah... maybe we can seize that, too...



A simple teenager, you are shocked when you discover the fallen figure of the Merines. Desperate to protect her against the evil intentions of Cruxis, you ally up with her and attempt to destroy Cruxis once and for all.

Cruxis. Currently the world's biggest organization of baddies that, as every cliché says, are bent on ruling the world. What started as a simple gang of six has now become quite possibly one of the biggest threats to hit the globe since... well, ever. These guys are crafty, almost impossible to catch and don't enjoy the term 'mercy' all too well. They're ruthless, trained to carry out a mission without a single bit of hesitation, no matter how gruesome. You'd think an organization like this would have a complicated system of rankings, right?

You're sadly mistaken.

Cruxis is actually based on the simple ranking of leader > captain > vice captain > grunts > FNG (Effin’ New Guy). Now, you think it'd be easy to rise up to captain, am I right? Again, wrong. The captains are, and have always been, the sons and daughters of five of the founders of Cruxis, the sixth son obviously being leader. Vice captains are picked out by the captains themselves from the grunts, sometimes even FNGs if they've taken a liking to one, and they're very picky. If they don't find someone suitable, then they will simply choose to not have a vice. Grunts, as demeaning as it may sound, is probably the best you'll manage, but it's certainly not the worst. They're like the infantry, or more like elites per se, because these are graduates of excruciating day-in-day-out training, while FNG's tend to be more cannon fodder and the people most picked on by grunts and vices. However, some manage to show their worth and rise up the ranks quick, sometimes getting vice if they're good enough. If not, they get the gruesome torture training to become an elite in Cruxis.

Cruxis Sign-Ups

Leader: There shall be, obviously, only one. To sign up, you must a) PM me or Tombi with an example of what you're capable of in an RP and b) tell me or her why you'd make a badass evil overlord. : D Originality helps in getting the accept.

Captains: Five captains max, no exceptions. To be captain, you must, again, PM me or Tombi, but this time, an example will do.

Vices: Also five max, no exceptions. Vices have to do two things. A) Depending on the SU, we will ask you to give us an example of your RP powers, and b) you must PM the captain you want to vice with if he'll/she'll accept the vicing or not. If the captain has stated that he doesn't want a vice, try not to vice him/her, 'kay? 'Kay.

Grunts: The option to be a grunt will only open while the RP is still not open. After, unless you have a VERY good reason, you're an FNG. No special things needed, aside from maybe an RP example, depending on your SU.

FNGs: Mostly for new people joining the Cruxis ranks, but after the RP starts, all new Cruxis charries will start off here, unless you have a VERY good reason. Nothing special needed aside from an RP example, depending on SU.

Name: First, middle is optional, last. And, please, for the love of God, try not to go Japanese names 24/7, it's getting tiring.
Age: The younger your charry (youngest being around 7 or 8), the more amazing the history will have to be. Just saying.
Gender: Male, female or shemale, you pick.
Rank: Read how to sign up for this.
Vice?: Yes or no, only for captains. Leave blank or N/A if not a captain.
Weapon/Special Abbility: Again, don't spam overused weapons, please. Try to mix things up. Same goes for abilities. It can be anything, just, nothing overdone.
Personality: How your charry acts.
History: His or her or its past.
Appearance: Pics are okay, but always, ALWAYS give me description. If you DO use a pic, put it on a link, so the page doesn't stretch/get too big.
Other: Anything else that doesn't fit in the list.



Where does the Merines come from, you ask? Good question. As I said earlier, put your hand through the bank of cloud. There’s one hint there: The Merines is not human, yet she is not physically an ‘angel.’

Put your face through. Now your body. What do you see ahead of you?

You see a pair of colossal golden gates that seem to shine through the swirling mist, vapour and light. They open silently, slowly, stealthily, as though someone has shut off the sound, as though you have gone suddenly deaf.

But what is through here?

.. Not exactly what expected, huh? The truth is you’re standing on a barren piece of land with nothing in sight. It is dark, cold, and has an air of being neglected. A couple of wizened, broken trees dot the landscape, and the grey ground is rock under your feet. The wind nips your face as you look towards the horizon. What is that? A faint golden glow... you squint. A huge city shimmers into being on the horizon, a palace standing like a proud monument in the centre, its turrets and battlements stabbing the sky.

What is this? Where are you? You are standing on the border of Tengoku, the homeland of the Merines. But not all of it. The city you see, perhaps. But surrounding this city, this kingdom, are five others, making six in total. Tengoku, the mystical lands between the heavens and the Earth, populated by mythical beasts, strange beings and fantastic creatures. It drips with beauty and pure, vicious evil, evil that outmatches anything found on our pitiful planet. Six kingdoms... Palupia, the one you saw earlier, its palace keeping some restraint over the rest of Tengoku. Kirikorosu, the kingdom of blood, Keibatsu, the city of spite, Ametsuchi, kingdom of nature, Arigachi, the steel-forgers, and Fusokufuri, the ocean-keepers. Each are inhabited by their people, monsters... and plots.

But what does this have to do with Cruxis, I hear you ask.

Cruxis, as stated earlier, has caught scent of the Merines. Their investigations have unearthed long-forgotten records of ‘The Heaven Below the Heavens’, and their fury at a possible threat to their cause has blinded their leader. Their determination to reach Tengoku and claim it as their own is paramount. How do they do this? They capture the Merines, of course.

If you look down there, there are still three kingdoms up for total grabs: Ametsuchi, Arigachi and Fusokufuri. If you wish to rule a kingdom (bearing in mind it is a HUGE responsibility, and you still must consult with Gaby or myself), then fill out this form. You will be considered.

Tengokuan Sign-ups

So you wish to be a resident of Tengoku? Nice. We need a lot of these, so the more the merrier. There are several different things you can sign-up for, and each are different. You might want to read the kingdom descriptions before you choose.

TAKEN BY GABY

A large city that is modern in many ways, but unadvanced in just as many. It is currently in the clutches of the criminal syndicate Cruxis. The entire city is purely machine, albeit the few bits of nature left. But, aside from rare tinges of green and the forest visible from the higher buildings outside of the city, the city is covered in a metallic color. Due to the influence of Cruxis, the city is very corrupt and quite dangerous to live in. The police doesn't do much of anything when problems start, due to fear of the evil syndicate. Therefore, crime-rate is incredibly high.

But, aside from those negatives, it's not that bad of a place. You can carry anything you want to defend yourself: from swords to guns, from knives to shuriken, you name it. Just don't randomly kill someone. Wouldn't want to risk the 12% chance the police will come after you.

Even with all this, the people of Eternia haven't lost hope on salvation. They're waiting, holding their ground until the match is lit.

Being in Earth, the city doesn't have any special inhabitants per se. We have humans and a wide variety of wildlife, and that's pretty much all there is to it. Unless you want to call the Guardians and humans with more special powers a different kind of being altogether.

A fairly new kingdom wedged between Arigachi and Kirikorosu in the north of Tengoku, Keibatsu, also known as 'The Kingdom of Eternal Night', started when rogue bandits from Kirikorosu abandoned their own city and started up camp on the unclaimed land next to Arigachi. In order to prevent this Kirikorosu sent a large army to beat down Arigachi and seize the land for their own; they failed due to forces sent from Palupia, resulting in the one hundred and five thousand unit rule being set in stone.

A small settlement soon grew into a village of small, but horrific, proportions. Masters of stealth, Keibatsu is hidden from view to the untrained eye and is shrouded in darkness even in summer, at noon. In spring, autumn and winter, it's completely covered in several inches of snow. Their population is widely made up of brutish creatures such a trolls and giants, and is ruled by a warlock.

Under the warlock's rule there is also a syndicate that goes by the name of Sinerlesse: their goals are unknown for now and not much is known about them, apart from several hushed-up attacks on small groups of scouts leaving the smaller kingdoms such as Arigachi and Ametsuchi.

As said before, their creature population is widely made up of trolls, ice and mountain giants, Fenris wolf packs, Valkyries (mystical deities in the shape of women, often on horseback), goblins, and Einherjar (spirits of warriors that died nobly in battle).

You hate 'em, we has 'em. Deal with it.

1) No spamming, or we will forcefully remove your fingers. : D
2) This RP is literate. We understand the occasional spelling mistake, but, please, speak in proper English. Also, a minimum of two paragraphs per post. A paragraph is at least five well-written sentences. We'll understand writer's block, though, and let it slide. Just don't make a habit out of it, 'kay? :3
3) Use Out of Character for irrelevant posts. It should, obviously, be marked with (()) or OOC: or anything like that.
4) No Flaming. Keep it to your pyromania moments.
5) Have an Opinion. Although me and Sensei are the RP masters here, we will give everyone a chance to speak if anything bothers them. We're not Gods, we're just watching your every move through your window. : D
6) If you're leaving for a week or so We'll understand. Just, PLEASE tell us in an OOC or in the discussion thread. No one likes being left hanging.
7) Quoting posts is a no-no, unless it's like, two pages back or so. If so, feel free. Just, don't quote the post before the one you just did or anything like that.
8) Missed anything? Don't be lazy, skim the posts. However, as stated in rule numero seis (6), it'll be allowed since you were gone longer than expected.

Actually, if you sign-up with a Cruxis after ignoring the title of the thread AND this post. You're automatically declined/banned. I have no patience with such trivial things.

The roleplay will start when we deem it necessary. Quit asking me. >__>

I FORGOT TO MENTION. If you sign-up for Sinnerlesse, everybody in Sinnerlesse has an alias. None of them use their real names. You may state the real name in your sign-up, but an alias is always used. For example, one of my Sinnerlesse characters is called Tyr Maskin, but everybody always calls him Aa. No questions asked. It's just Aa. Another example: Leon Achilles is always called Apache. Get it? :3

ALSO. All Sinnerlesse members wear suits, unless they have specific leisure time, which is rare.

If nobody claims the role as head of Cruxis, Gaby and I will share.

Controllers of kingdoms desperately wanted. You have total free reign (within reason).

Diss off Gaby or myself and you'll be out, no questions asked.

If you wish to argue, take it to PM please.

No, I won't let you be the Merines. It is taken by myself and it has through all four previous Merines roleplays. :3

Note: I kinda mixed the Guardians and Creature's SU a bit. I need to include as much info as possible to explain my creature.

Name: Amanor Tatalla
Species: Entity (Will be explained)
Age: 17 Years
Gender: Female
Personality: Amanor developed a personality over the last six years. She is very calm, collected and wise. Her vast knowledge helps her true identity secret, however, she can sense the truth in many humans. She has barely managed to keep herself alive however, which has put her down in a slump. Usually, Amanor goes out at night to search for knowledge, she hates the daylight times because of all the human interaction. She doesn't speak much, if she did, too much information would come out at once. amanor has difficulty sleeping, because her mind is constantly reeling with information. She doesn't like the male side of humans, however in contrast, her human illusion is very attractive. amanor has few morales that she's developed, as she is still developing a personality, but she knows what is right from wrong, and a dark act from a light one. Amanor tends to stay around one other being, and is very protective of her property and 'friends'. Anger isn't in her vocabulary, or emotions, since all she's learned from it is that nothing good can come from such an emotion. In consequence, she doesn't really know what true happiness is either, so can be seen as emotionless.
Appearance:Ha! I tooks a picture of it and pulled a Tombi! The flash messed it up though. Amanor stands at seven feet when slouching, but straight up, it's a nice ten feet. Her fur, which is very fine and grows under a thick hide of scales, is usually a pale lavender during they day, but changes to a darker hue during the night. Her eyes are a luminecent sky blue, and her mane is a pale indigo, which also lightens and darkens with the sunrise and sunset. Her claws are perfectly white, and her undertone is a silver colour, but doesn't change like the rest of her fur. Her wings are a dark, almost black, grey with a pattern of gold in them. Her chest hollows are a teal colour, with the black bands connecting them. The tip and stripe on the end of her tail are a dark navy blue that change to black at night.

This forms allows her silent flight, since her wings were based off of an owls, and her additional limbs allow her to carry up to two people underneath, and one person on her back, however, only for a short time. She can fly well and far with one person, but again, everything requires energy.

Clicky for human form. Amanor as a human stands at 5'10 and wears the jacked shown in the pic (of which I didn't draw) and it's a very long coat. Underneath is a tanktop of a grey shade, and her pants are a dark teal colour, and usually of the dress kind. Then, she wears sandals, even when it's snowing. They're kinda like all year round sandals.
History:
When Amanor was created, she was very curious for a spirit. At first, it seemed like she would die off quickly, but after her first year, she leanred to discover at a steady pace. Her form consisted of a dragon-like form, but with four arms, and the wings of an owl. Why she chose such an elegant yet frightening form was unusual, but she managed to live on Earth for awhile. She chose a female human form, but was mute for about five years or so, until she bought an english encylcopedia and half a dozen dicitonaries. That is how she learned to speak. Because of her form choice, Amanor was forced to purchase food constantly, or even steal it. She has no sense of taste (literally) so just consumes without ever enjoying the sweetness of ice cream. Amanor observed human behaviour from her apartment window during the day, creating a habit of disliking it, and ventured off at night, traveling to various parts of the world even to gather information. She hid outside universities, listening in on math classes, but the human's philosophy and psychology interested her most. That didn't stop her from painting Pascal's triangle on her wall however. When she was about six, that is when she met with Stella, a young human who was in total contrast to Amanor's personality at the time. Since Stella was, or had been running away from home, for reasons that Amanor found against what morales she had taken in. She treated Stella with respect and kindness, not hiding her true form from her, despite that she was a human. At first however, she hid under the veil of an illusionary female adult, but it eventually started to fade with trust and knowledge. Amanor became like Stella's fortune cookie and second sober thought, trying to keep her out of immediate trouble. That wasn't entirely avoidable since Amanor's powers of Posession also caused devious esapades of their own. After Stella turned thirteen, she was emancipated from her family, which Amanor thought was good for her. Even though Amanot lived in an abandoned apartment buulding, she had enough knowledge to make it work just like any running condominuim suite, just not as fancy.

Special Ability:
Posession: This is a general term for her power, but it includes a few specialized areas. For Amanor specifically, her powers are held in crystal orbs that she holds in hollow chest cavities, which are visible from the front of her chest (unless otherwise stated) the ones in her chest can be taken out and put back in, but it takes much force to pry one out. Anyone can't use the powers of the obrs, only the Entity, however, Amanor can't use that specific Posession ability unless she has it in her chest. Note, that these are very minor, and only work for about 1 minute per joule of energy:
Mental Posession: The ability to posess anything with her mind, things from pots and pans to a semi.This is a gem (in the colour of the text highlighted) to the top of her chest hollows, and can be lost and the gem taken.
Physical Posession: Posessing physical things, such as another person's body (Granted they are unconious or dead) or posessing a new body (Temporary shapeshifting with the help of Imaginitive Posession)This is a gem (in the colour of the text highlighted) to the bottom right of her chest hollows, and can be lost and the gem taken.
Stolen Posession: This allows Amanor to steal something from any person she phases through, ranging from personality traits, to other powers. She does not keep the powers, and can only temporarily borrow them based on how much energy she needs to use it, and how much energy the original owner needed to use it. Parts of personality are permanent, but it's more of her learning from it. With other powers, she doesn't learn how to use it if she phases through a person to obtain it. She needs to learn it on her own, or learn from the original owner of the power. So if she's stuck with pyrokinesis, she might burn down a few buildings before actually learning how to control the fire. This is a gem (in the colour of the text highlighted) to the bottom left of her chest hollows, and can be lost and the gem taken.
Imaginitive Posession: This isn't really a power, but it allows amanor to create an illusionary image of what she wants people to see her as. This also helped create her real form. It helps with Physical Posession, but other than mentioned, it doesn't do much of anything but assist other Posession fields. This Posession is held in the gem embedded in her forehead, and cannot be lost.

Mirror Wandering:This is Amanor's only learned ability she created for herself. She can use mirrors like portals, however, she needs to know where the mirror is, and make sure it's perfectly intact. This takes up alot more energy that her Posession ability.

Other: The Entity Bio in short (compared to the original, it's the shorter version. If I put the original, it'd be uberly long.)

Entity's are creatures that were meant to gather all the information in the known universe. They, according to human medical standards, aren't living. They have no pulse, no heartbeat, because they only have the meaning to exsist, and to learn. They can hold vasts amounts of information, and all hold the power of Posession. However, this doesn't mean they can't die, or they are all powerful. Becaues of their creation, and their powers and purpose, they need to comsume large amounts of energy constantly. What they need is based on their permanently created form. this is their true form, and they usually establish one within the first year of 'life'. After that, they rarely use their power of Imaginitive Posession, only if they decide to mask it with another illusionary form.

Entity's are born with no knowledge whatsoever, except with the definition of one word; discover. Like small human children, Entities are translucent spirits in the form of a silver spirit, until they become one year of age. That is when they have injested enough energy and knowledge to chose a physical form, and can embrace the real world. They can't do anything, except walk, touch, hear, see and take in energy. They must learn to speak, think, and develop a personality on their own. They own a selective, yet double photographic memory in order to keep all their contained information, and can choose what to remember, and what to forget. Eventually, what keeps them alive is discovering what their definition of the meaning of life is, however, revealing what it is could prove fatal. What also could kill an Entity, is draining all it's energy completely. This can happen in combat, excessive use of magic, or by not taking in enough energy, then phasing through to the center of the earth and being incinerated.

Depending on the Entity's permanent form, they have varying attributes, but all have a vast exspanse of knowledge. You'd be amazed at how much they can learn in a year, let alone a decade. All Entity's search for the new and unusual, but under the circumstances of the human race, many are thinning out and perishing because of the lack of knowledge to learn on Earth. Also, posessing so much information, it makes them rare, yet highly sought after targets for those who want power.

Okays, I will for sure. It's really based off of a Sonic Universe character I made. I'll just make another person out of the race.
