Right?

Well, the original pretense is that Saddam had WMD's. Too bad they never found any.

Re: Your thoughts about the iraqi war
Even after this U.N Swiss/swedish(Hans Blitz?) guy proved that Iraq didn't have WMDs.
This 1.5 trillion Dollar farce that just transfers money from Government to Wall Street should end, really. The only good thing that came out of iraq war (For everyone in the world) was the journalist being fired enough to chuck shoes at Bush. :]

The Vietnam War Veterans were often treated badly because the American public did not approve of the war. The media showed all of the anti-war demonstrations and the negative aspects of the war as propoganda. People thought that the United States shouldnt have been in Vietnam(like how some people think we shouldn't be in Iraq) so they disagreed with everyone who made it possible.

Re: Your thoughts about the iraqi war
I have never supported the War in Iraq. I'm opposed to war in general. Anything that can be accomplished with force can be accomplished with talking. Call me a hippie, but I believe in peace and kindness.
But I don't think I can make any accusations that others haven't yet. Money, power, oil, corruption... oh, I see one. Bush had nothing to do with the war. Yep. Bush, I have nothing against. I actually like the guy. Not as a politician, but he's a nice guy. He's just an idiot. He's a clueless figurehead who thinks he has power, but in reality all the power belongs to Dick Cheney and his Legion of Doom. Therefore, I hereby reassign all blame pointed at Bush in this thread to Dick Cheney. George Bush, to my knowledge, has not personally done anything wrong but be as moldable as eternally moist clay.

Re: Your thoughts about the iraqi war
Title should be: War in Iraq, on Terrorism.
Anyway.
This is what I think.
9/11, George Bush administration helped Bin Laden cause it.
www.loosechange.com
2nd, terrorism was truly created back after WW2 after the United States and some of the UN recognized Israel as a country. This pissed off Palestine, making them turn to terrorism, extremists if you will. Personally I think this is an excuse to fix what we did. Though I'm probably wrong and truthfully they could have attacked us with out US support, and we can be over there because of it. Though I think we should be over there as security, not bombing them like a bunch of retards. This is one reason why I hate religion, it brainwashes people to do such extreme things. But hey that's Earth and humanity for ya isn't it?

Actually, I believe he was screaming, "WMDs! WMDs! WMDs!"
Yes, this, for lack of a better term, war is pretty pointless. Does that mean that we shouldn't still support our overseas troops? No. Does it mean that we should just blindly pull out of there without making preparations? No. I sincerely hope that there is a way to "responsibly end this war", and I wait interestedly to see what Mr. Obama will do about the problem.

My thoughts exactly. I don't support the war, but I support the troops and hope as many as possible make it home to their families. And I look forward to the day we finally get all of our troops out of there.

anyways.......i don't think suicide to remove ships is within good reason, i think it's just blind suicide because your government is feeding you a bunch of bull.

Re: Your thoughts about the iraqi war
Ah, the Iraq war. I'm Canadian, to make this clear; my opinion is not a patriotic one.
The Iraq war was unfounded to begin with. The invasion of Iraq caused a lot more problems than it did solutions, to put it simply. It is analogous with the Vietnam War in a lot more ways than the possible way veterans will be treated.
However, now that the Iraq War is at the point that it is, pulling out the troops will return Iraq to its former state; one religious faction fighting another and totalitarian leadership picking up within the next year. The people don't want democracy, they were happier under Saddam than they are now.
They want the United States out of their country, but that won't happen because of the oil, and because it gives the United States a rather central strategic position in the Middle East with which to deal with Iran and other possible threats.
Bush isn't intelligent enough to be behind any major political plot - it's Dick Cheney and others within the Bush Administration pulling the strings. Hopefully Obama proves to be less of a puppet.
