You need to talk to the woman inside a house to the left of the Pokemon Center in Cerulean. If Pikachu loves you enough, she'll give you Bulbasaur.

Question Re: Red/Blue/Yellow Game Discussion

I heard that in one of the games, Mewtwo holds an Item called the Ballistic Gene (not sure about the spelling there). Does anyone know what it does?

What you heard has some truth in it. In GSC, outside where Mewtwo's cave would be in RBY there is a hidden item in the water called the Berserk Gene. Basically it is a one time use item (like a berry for example) but it activates when the Pokemon is sent into battle. It makes your Pokemon confused for 255 turns but also has the same effect as a Swords Dance. In other words it confuses your Pokemon until you switch out/faint and also raises your Attack 2 stages.

Um... thanks for the tip, but I just now tried it, and I can't find it.

Just keep clicking around the water and you will find it. You can use the Itemfinder to help here.

Cerulean. It's near where the Cerulean Cave used to be. In the water.

I just got back into Yellow and Blue the other week, but I prefer the yellow version.

My team is:

Cloyster - L.55
Exeggutor - L.52
Flareon - L.50
Alakazam - L.54
Pikachu - L.52
Nidoking - L.39

I like the balance team method rather then having 1 or 2 high levels smash everyone in the way lol I used this lineup 6 years ago when I first got the game and I still like them!

And to the person who said using legendaries is lame I have to agree. I hate when I see a full team of the legendary pokemon.

BTW, can anyone tell me what light screen actually does? All it says is "protected against special attacks".

It lowers the damage of Special attacks for five turns. Take for instance, a Water Gun will do half its normal damage after Light Screen.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it meant protected against special effects (poison etc) but looks like it was good to take it. I replaced it for thunderwave on pikachu.

EDIT: Here's a question: If a pokemon grows multiple levels in 1 fight (eg. Goes from lvl.5 - 10 after 1 fight) does it miss out on stats or is there no difference than leveling consecutively (5,6,7,8,9,10)?

You still gain all the original stats you would have gotten had you leveled it up slower. Going from level 5 to level 10 just means that you acquired more Experience Points than necessary for it to gain a level.

You can get Missingo on Pokemon Yellow: http://www.trsrockin.com/yellowmn.html

Go to that URL, and there is info on the Missingo on Pokemon Yellow.

Like previously said, it'll get all of the stats. Every time that it levels up it'll have a different stat gain page (so if it went up 5 levels in one battle, it would have 5 different stat gain pages).

My 1,000 post!!!!!!
