But really, things in the anime world won't hold true in the game, and vice versa. That's what makes fanfic writing so enjoyable, is that you have the freedom to view the world your way. So if a big muscle bound, evil-eyed Machoke is frightened by a cutesy big-eyed Ekans, it could happen. haha.

Yeah. If in the real world, anything can happen, imagine what warped minds can think of...

I was under the impression that INTIMIDATE invoked "caution" upon Pokemon in combat rather tha fear itelf.

Now if said Ekans used Attract on Wailord...

Earthquake/Magnitude probably defeats Pokemon in the same way as a Tickle-Me Elmo Doll would shave itself from thrashing around in a parking lot.

Its called FRICTION. And it burns. Try running part way downhill, then jumping butt first to slide the rest of the way. now imagine all the rocks and rodent holes moving under and between. And the cracks of the earth pinching. And a Pokemon losing its balance, stumbling and falling against the raised earth getting all scraped and broken.

Essentially, Earthquake is a curb-stomping.
As for Magnitude... Its like flying over the handlebars of a bike. The faster you WERE going, the more you might get hurt.

Magnitude 10 = no helmet + STFU

Clamp, followed by Whirlpool, as performed by Shellder and Clamperl to name a few can be viewed easier if you first know how clams swim.

You know the way the Nintendo DS folds? Well a Nintendo DS "clam" would be swimming with the "fold" towards the way it wants to go. Clamp would be pinching the target real good, while when using Whirlpool, the Clamper would be swimming in circles to make the Whirlpool effect. Whether it be an actual Whirlpool formed, or just the cyclonic effects of the moving water particles.

Kinda like moving your hand in circles in a water filled kitchen sink.
Or stirring your Kool-Aid so that powdery mist moves to the whorl.

No way. Intimidate in my opinion does both. And if Wailord has the ability Oblivious there will be no effect. But if not Wailord might be affected. I must say though, everything else you say makes plenty of sense.

And now that I think of it, does Magnitude do x2 damage to Pokemon using Dig, just like Earthquake? And if a Flying-Type Pokemon was using Dig (eg. Gligar) and its opponent used Earthquake or Magnitude, would the Flying-Type pokemon be affected? Just wanting to know, thanks.

You know, I'm kinda glad someone brought this up.
Cause when I was playing, and I had Rattata use Bite on an Onix, I just had this picture in my mind.
Little Rattata gnawing away and big ole Onix looking down at this tiny purple furball thinking, "what are you doing?"

You do know the move won't be very effective, right? So Onix won't really care.

Oh, and whoever had the fan fiction ThEcHaMpIoNoFsApPhIrE was asking for, please give me a link. Thanks.

But see, that's just it. Dark moves aren't ineffective against Rock-types. So it's effectiveness would be normal.
I guess the Dark attack makes any Pokemon's teeth stonger.
Still a funny image in my head though. XD

I'm sure that there has to be some ONIX nostrils big enough for a Rattata to chew on.

And Geodude is like a chew toy for dogs.

"Oh, look! A chew toy. It has arms to pull on."

Poor Geodude...

Lol. I can half-imagine Geodude as something for dogs to chew.

But seriously, Rattata will need Bite for Onix to take notice. Even so, it still won't take notice when it evolves. And no, Onix's nostrils won't be big enough.

Well earthquake and magnatude can cause a pokemon to flying up in the air and crash back down or open up a hole in the ground wich they fall into ot cause the ground to split and the earth to move uneavly upwards hurting the pokemon in the process.

Clamp would hurt, as say a shell der clamped onto a pikachu imagine the pain that it would be in, for wailord its tail!!!

Wonder if Clamp, when used in the woods, works like an outhouse, leaving splinters and yowls throught the trees...

Wonder what it looks like when Smeargle uses Swallow. Surely the paint won't kill him..
