Homework is stupid in my opinoin, most of the time I don't even take the time to do it. Usually just rush it in on the bus, or before the class starts. It's like saying, "Okay, we just did 3 worksheets of this in class, now go do it at home again. ^_^" Honestly, it's pointless to me. If you don't get it, then ask for some extra work and help from the teacher; that's when "homework" (then it would really be 'extra-help work") should be used.

So, no.

Yes, that's the point of homework. Even if you fully grasp the idea, there will be others that don't, so homework is good practice for them. Homework is repetitive for a reason, so that you will remember it... not just for an upcoming test, but for many years to come.

You wouldn't say that in college. Every point counts. And in some cases, where the class is just a mid-term and final, you'll wish you had homework.

Yes, I support homework because it helps you understand more of what you've learned at school but there really should be less of it at least. I'm pratically drowning in homework! I get good grades at school but that's because I work my tail off which makes me stay up late so I pratically get less sleep!

OK lets review my life.

4:00pm: I get home and start doing my homework
7:00pm: I have dinner then continue on my homework
9:30pm: I finish my homework and go to bed

That is one day and all that is after a boring six and a half hours of damned school. I swear, if I have to answer one more maths question I am gonna go nuts. (goes over and smashes head on a brick wall)

Don't the rest of us have that? There are people who study 10-14 hours.

You are allowed to skip homework, it's just..

A] Study now, and enjoy a good profession later.
B] Enjoy now, and end up with an average profession later.

Why else do we have to import talent from the third world? :|

well where I'm going I don't need to know about how picasso painted cubism, or how the ancient greeks made tiles. the only useful homework is the stuff we really need to know and not all of the other crud. I am wasting my time studying art, history and stuff nobody that nobody cares about.I wish we only did homework in subjects that would be needed later in life.

The only homework I enjoyed promoted actual useful skills.
Such as reading or writing.

I remember the early grades having me trace the letters of the alphabet over and over so many times. Then the teacher taking the group of us runts over to the school library for a book appropriate to our grade level.

The only true homework I would support would be of this sort:

"Take that textbook and read these ten or so pages. The entire chapter preferred. We will be discussing what you read in next lesson. So be prepared to answer possible questions and the typical nonsense you have put up with for not enough years for the win!"

And I must admit the one piece of awesomeness of that reading homework:

Substitute Teacher: "I'm sorry class. Your teacher is sick today and this is a crap subject anyway. So we are going to watch a Bill Nye the Science Guy movie."

Defeats the purpose. Like adding bacon to a veggie burger.

Honestly, what REAL[Yes, I went there] child/teen/tween likes homework? I mean, it's the tool teachers use to make you hate them, and want to pound them with the hammer of 1337, so they can press charges. :/

I honestly don't support homework because homework cuts into my free time. Even homework knows better than to mess wit me . The last time I had homework was like 2 weeks ago, and whenever I get homework, I always get like and hour to do it in school, so its basically schoolwork. My parents already have like a homework plan in which I have to do 5 pages of every subject, every night. Thats tough as hell... but getting homework plus that really ticks me off.
