I support the clauses, but I'm not too fond of the tiers. Just so you know, my little rant here is a bit opinionated, and not meant to cause any offense.

Personally I think that battles should be about fun. I use my favourite Pokemon rather than the strongest ones, as this is how I gain the most fun. I used to battle on NetBattle, but got bored with battling similar teams (it wasn't too bad at some points though, the time when my Houndoom Countered a Tyranitar Rock Slide was priceless. XD)

However, I agree with the idea of the Ubers tier; seperating the Legendary Pokemon from the others.

So in summary, I'm against tiers aside from Ubers. For me to have fun, I need to battle varied teams that don't use categorised Pokemon.

And, wtf is "Limbo" ?!
It's the place where pokemon go when there tier placement is undecided. I think it was used for people to go ahead and use wobbufet and deoxys s in OU by choice of the participants at the time ther tier placements were in doupt. Deoxys went to OU woby went back to uber.

I agree with them, but the clauses not so much.

Have fun getting all 6 of your Pokemon slept at one time then.

Yes, I happen to like the tiers for the most part. :[ I wouldn't want to be using UU Pokemon and have to face off again Dialga or Mewtwo. @_@

Personally I think that battles should be about fun, not results. I use my favourite Pokemon rather than the strongest ones, and fail to understand why others do the opposite. I used to battle on NetBattle but got bored, as practically every person used the same team; Blissey, Snorlax, Celebi, Suicune, Skarmory and Forretress.

However, I agree with the idea of the Ubers tier; seperating the Legendary Pokemon from the others.

So in summary, I'm against tiers aside from Ubers. I feel that it depersonalises teams, making battles more predictable and less fun. How much more fun could battles be if you had no idea which Pokemon were on the opponent's team?
Fun is a relative term. A lot of the competitive battling community loves the tier system as it encourages what they believe to be fun -- that is, a controlled competitive environment.

Ah, good point. I didn't think about it that way. *edits post*

So you think it's right that players would be *forced* to carry one or more of those things? The whole point of sleep clause is to avoid a metagame like that.

The only clause that should be forced IMHO is Sleep. The rest are lame. Why's there even a controlled damage clause? :( (the clause that caps damage displayed at remaining Pokemon's HP)

But you need tiers, otherwise a lot of crap happens. Butterfree isn't beating Mewtwo any day of the week.
