if you dont know what tiers are, here is a list. http://www.smogon.com/dp/tiers/

what do you think about them. Do you think pokemon should be classified in "Tier" groups?

Personally, i think no. Tiers are just dumb in my opinion. I think we should be able to use whoever we want in battles. Even though ubers have advantages that others dont, that just makes it more fun. Like mew, you never know what moves he has. Its more of a challenge that way! I personally dont like being told who i can and cant use.

What about you?

There's nothing stopping you from making whatever team you want. Tiers are there to simply categorize all the Pokemon.

I think that the tiers are perfectly acceptable, and work well. Ubers are ubers, because they are SO hard to beat, and it just is'nt fair. I think that the Borderline and Under used Tiers should be mixed, but that's just my opinion. The system works. That's all I have to say about it.

It's segregation, and I won't stand for it!

Yes but if you beat them without using any yourself you are just that much better.

Tiers are useful. If you don't like them go play Ubers. No restrictions there. .-.

If you don't want to play using tiers, find some other people who share your interests. If you're going to do things like tournaments, Shoddy ladder, etc., you'll have to accept that tier lists are commonly accepted to be a good thing by most of the competitive battling community.

Indefinately! Can you imagne the chaos! The number of ubers about will be huge! there are tiers for a reason fr each.

Uber

A tier created for pokemon that are deemed too good/powerful/unfair for the standard mewtagame wich include mewtwo, wobbufet and garchomp.

OU

The tier of the top 51 most over used pokemon, basically the pokemon who are used the most in standard play and are banned from UU play as they are too good for UU play

BL

boarderline pokemon are the pokemon that are too good for UU play, other than that not much to say there not used enough to be OU but are too strong for UU.

UU

The under used tier features the vast majority of pokemon wich tends to be mainly made up weak pokemon wich are normally too weak for use in standard play or have major flaws like agorns 2 common 4X weaknesses fighting and ground.

NU

This tier has no pokemon currently in it and was for pokemon too weak for UU battles and standard and uber battles are reallly now stupid ideas for the use of these pokemon in.

Battle types

Uber battles- all pokemon allowed

Standard battles- All but uber pokemon allowed

UU battles- only UU and NU pokemon allowed

NU battles- no pokemon arecurenly in NU tier for D/P so really there is no such thing currently.

I think tiers are perfectly reasonable. I just hate the clauses.

I agree that tiers are necessary for reasons already stated in the thread.

Clauses are there for a good reason too. Take Sleep Clause, for example. Think of it this way; you have a Breloom come in on one of your slower Pocket Monsters, let's say for example Swampert. It uses Spore and puts Swampert to sleep. It can setup Substitute while you're sleeping, or if you switch out Breloom could just put an incoming Pocket Monster to sleep. I don't think it'd be too much fun if all 6 of your Pocket Monsters were asleep.
