That's the problem though. This isn't the case by far. I don't see how you can logically come to such a generalization about atheists, considering that I don't see them coming after me for my religion. In fact, aside from Dawkins, I'm hard-pressed to find an atheist that "champion" atheism outside of "oh awesome, you're an atheist too" (which, ironically, is similar to a Christian finding out someone else being a Christian).
Christians are sometimes "automatically" labeled as extremists because of how people perceived them to act. For example, if I see a person trying to tell others that their religion is wrong and that his/her religion is the only right one, that person is an extremist regardless of religion. Evangelism of any kind from any religion is morally wrong, after all. The only reason why you perceive this as ONLY to Christians is because your sample size is too small, which isn't your fault.
