Default Should the Sleep Clause be instaurated?

I just lost to Magare. I usually don't feel bad after a loss if I did my best, but I lost due to sleep. I had my three pokémon asleep, 2 of them at the same time, and there was nothing to do about it. I also put him asleep, it was my Gengar vs. his Tyranitar. But not 2 of his pokémon at the same time. Then, every chance I had to do something, he put me asleep. He agrees it was not a good battle, and we discussed:
-There are moves to prvent sleepness.
For example, Safeguard, Substitute, Uproar.
-But if the opponent is faster, there's no way to avoid it.
-There are faster Pokémon than a Gengar that can prevent him from doing that.
Magare won the dices... 6 times. If one of those 6 would have favored me, I would have had more chances of winning. Of course, that is luck and luck is part of every game. But, what if luck is NOT a decisive factor in the game, I mean, what if you can put him asleep and you're always faster than the opponent:
-What about a Baton Pass team? It would easily destroy anything. A Ninjask would stay in the field for one or two turns, then switch to a Breelom. Since Spore has 100% of accuracy, it's a very dangerous move. And if Breelom's faster, there's no way to stop it. In a six vs. six fight, this could prove the loss for the opponent. Every pokémon he sends, gets asleep as soon as it gets to the field, and there's nothing you can do about it.
In Netbattle and in the Pokémon Stadiums, there's the Sleep Clause to prevent this. With it, you can't put 2 of his pokémon asleep at the same time. One at a time. Baton Pass teams are highly affected by this and aren't as strong as they can be in thie URPG.

The sleep clause wouldn't obviously work in 1 vs 1, but it can prevent overpowered strategies like the Baton Pass. I'd like your opinion please.
Marth.

Like Dux said, sleep clause probably should be installed, at least as an optional rule. Its very frustrating to watch while your opponent beats and and without even a chance to strike back.

But unlike Dux who talks about strategies, the main thing why I'm for it is that this is a game. In my opinion, games should be fun. And battles like the one Dux and I had take away the fun for one person.......

I think it should be optional if both people agree on it.

There should be a sleep clause that if 2 or more pokemon are battling not more than 1/2 the pokemon can be asleep. Why i say this because it is a easy win and they can win all the way with dream eater also since there is infinate PP they can esily win in a gym match if the rules included no items. So Gengar vs a pokemon at lower speed will domiate.

I agree because that's exactly how I lost to Tamer . Tamer had two of my Poke's asleep and one frozen, he won most of the dices. Then he proceeded to pwn all of my sleeping (or frozen) Pokemon. But it should be optional where both people have to agree on it, not mandatory.

Just a sidenote. There are not infinite PPs. Refs have to keep watch for that

Yea, that's something that's not stressed when older refs are teaching newer refs to ref.

ALL REFS REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE NO INFINITE PP'S

Thank You. lol.

Well, i agree with marth there should be Sleep Clause for what he mentioned, I reffed that battled and didn't enjoy it. And JT, when i beat you, it wasn't luck, it was fun :P. And yes, we do not have infinit PP, we have MAX PP.

I can understand how it feels when you're only losing because of lazy, sleeping pokemon. =P I actually reffed that battle between JT and Tamer. Still, as others have said, the battlers should never be obliged to use Sleep Clause. If you are against battling without a Sleep Clause you can just refuse the battle.

Oh yes, and before anyone points out that I sound bitter, I do sound bitter >=(

And it can't be a mandatory clause by any means either. So an optional clause is all good.
