Re: Door A or Door B
Door A. 20 years will go fast. If the clones can't speak, I'll teach them sign language. I'll create a whole new world. Muahaha!
EDIT: Nice thread, btw.

Re: Door A or Door B
For me, I think it would depend on the place I am in my life. I can't just say "I would do this" or that when I have no idea where I would be when this happened. If I felt like there was really something for me to get back to when I got out, I would probably take the 20 years. If I didn't, I would opt for suicide.

Re: Door A or Door B
Time for loophole man!
If there's a window in room B, use the gun to break it... duh!
If you choose B and fail to kill yourself, you'll be in a big as a mess as locking both doors.
Then again, you could choose room A, choose any Ancient from Stargate SG-1, get a lot of basic materials, and let them build you a stasis pod. Problem solved... ^^

Re: Door A or Door B
You guys bring up some good points. However, let's assume that the scientists are constantly watching your every move, and there is absolutely no escape, so you have no chance of suicide after Door A is opened. There is no way out once you choose Door A. That's the whole point. If you try to eat yourself to death, they will remove your food, etc. To the person who said to shoot the lock on Door A, the scientists would probably just kill you themselves if you tried to escape from Door B. There are no windows, and let's say Door B is made of an indestructible material, or something.
That aside, all these Door A responses are swaying me a little. Although 20 years is, in fact, a long amount of time, you could eliminate your perception of time eventually if you didn't try to keep track and didn't ask for a clock or a calendar.

Re: Door A or Door B
It says that behind Door B is a gun and a bullet. It never said you have to commit suicide. So, I'll take the gun, shoot the scientists, and GTFO. If that doesn't work, I'll choose Door A, make them bring me raw materials, get a clone of Steve Jobs, order him to make me an iPhone, call the police, and press charges on the scientists for kidnapping. If all else fails, I'll just choose Door A, wait 20 years, and then press charges :D

Re: Door A or Door B
Door B.
As much as taking your life seem like the cowards way out, I honestly feel that spending twenty years in a room with absolutely no social interaction would be worse than death; yes, I agree with Dumbledore: there are worse things than death. To have nothing but lifeless slaves which only change appearance once a month and cannot talk would be maddening. Yes, you could have twenty years to read without interruption, but honestly, twenty years?
Take the gun and kill yourself. Save yourself the pain.

Re: Door A or Door B
For the last time, people, the point of this question is basically "would you rather spend 20 years alone without electronics or shoot yourself in the head?" There is absolutely no way out.

The door locks, so no. The walls of the rooms are indestructible, and you're certainly not scraping your way out with a spoon. The Steve Jobs clone would be a naked zombie who could only understand basic commands. They don't have any mental or emotional qualities of the original person. So if you get a clone of Goku, he's not Kamehameha-ing you to freedom.

Re: Door A or Door B
Door A. Simple as that. Not going to take my life, ever, for any reason.
