Your Best fishing experience?
What was your best fishing experience?
A month ago, I went camping By a beach and I went fishing so We drove to the mouth of a creek. Well we waited for 45 minutes and we got caught on rocks 10, 20 times and I was about to quit when I got a HUGE bite and it freakin' felt like a huge rock Come to find out it was a Giant Grass Rockfish but my mom was like 'release it we don't even know what it is'
So I did then... I found out today and regret it...

Mine was my first fish, I sat there for about 2 hours and then I caught a carp, about a foot and a half long...
I like that day...

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
Ooh i got a awesome one. So we drove 2 hours to this camping site like 2 feet away from this lake. and my sister and my aunt got stuck in traffic and right when we got there. there was this gaint snake and my dad killed it and threw it in the lake so my sister wouldnt freak out and have to be taken to a hotel.
So the next day we go fishing (i cuaght most of the fish) and guess what my lil sister reels in. The dead, headless snake. It was so hilarious. The look on her face and i couldnt stop laughing. (she slept in the car the rest of the trip.

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
I remember when our family lived in an island near Karachi. We used the traditional way of catching, not by the rod. And those wriggly worms, We used to tie them around that string they had. Fishing has always been one of my favorite things but I don't get a chance to fish these days.
And Yeah, the fish I caught was such a beauty, It had 4 eyes, Yes it did.

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
My best fishing experience: My family was on the way to Florida, and on the way we stopped in Kentucky. While we were there, we went noodling. For those of you who don't know what noodling is, here's the simple version. You swim through dirty water, find large holes on the bottoms of shallow rivers, stick your hands in there and hope a catfish is in there in place of a snake. When we were noodling, I pulled a 47 lb(about 21 kilos) catfish out of a hole. That's big for an American catfish.
My worst fishing experience: I went noodling in Kentucky (look above), and I caught a 12 lb(5.5 kilos) cottonmouth out of a hole. It hurt and I had to spend 2 days in the hospital getting pumped full of antivenin.

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
When I was twelve, my oldest sister and her boyfriend at the time took me fishing for the first time. When we got to the river where we went fishing, her boyfriend kept trying to give me pointers before I ever cast the line out. Not two minutes after casting it in, I caught a fish. I cast the line in about six more times, and each time caught a fish within two to eight minutes. Neither he or my sister caught a single fish that day. xD

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
I went fishing once, and my best experience was when I got off the boat. In case you can't guess, I don't really like fishing. XD

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
Here's my boring story. (meh.)
Bout 2 years ago, i just got into fishing, and went with my friend, his dad, and another friend of his. We found out they had a small fishing pond (boy was it tiny, but it had some big fish!). My friend's dad was teaching me to fish and we were there for about 30 minutes now. He gives me the rod to try. 5 minutes or so later, i reel in this huge sunfish. not sure on lengths. then, lacking knowledge about fishing with a little stupidity mixed in, i threw the fish far out into the pond with a big splash and i couldve sworn i killed it by doing that. Later found out i didnt though.

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
I went fishing afew times.
Never caught anything, so I don't have a Best Time.
But I did fall in off the pier (or whatever there called) once while fishing.
I was laughed at. ):

Re: Your Best fishing experience?
My grandad had to sell his fishing camp, because it was too tiring to go there and he didn't have the energy anymore. On our last trip there, I didn't catch a single fish... got a lot of bites, tho!
But during that time, I managed to catch bats.
There was a colony of bats inside the camp. We thought they were mice, because they stank up the whole place and littered it with guano (ewww). My dad and grandad's friend pulled off a plank just above the nest, and HUNDREDS of bats were sleeping there. They flew off in every direction! We opened all the doors and windows, but some would still stay trapped inside, so I grabbed a fishing net and caught them to release them outside.
In the end, two bats died and the whole colony moved into the camp's shed.
Oh, do you know what's the best way to catch a bat in mid-flight? Whack it with the net. And when it's thrashing around on the floor, put the net over it so it gets tangled up, then carry it outside. NEVER manipulate bats without thick gloves on. Bats can give you rabies.
By the way, Alana_Marie, I fail to see why it was necessary to kill the snake. Just because your sister was afraid of them? Seems like unnecessary carnage to me. Wouldn't it have been safer for everyone to relocate it instead?
