Default Re: Make a Dungeon! :)

I HAVE SO BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO A THREAD LIKE THIS (slaps forehead due to ability to MAKE thread like this)

Dungeon: Memory Island

Floors: Rocky Coast 13F + Mountain Range 11F + Forest Zone 11F + Forbidden Lakes + Paralyzed Land 28F

Rocky Coast:
Beach Cave 1-2F + Beach Cave Pit
Drenched Bluff 3-5F + Drenched Bluff Pit
Waterfall Cave 6-9F
Craggy Coast 10-13F
Brine Cave 14-17F + Far Brine Cave 18-20F + Brine Cave Pit

Mountain Range:
Mt. Bristle 1-4F + Mt. Bristle Peak
Mt. Horn 5-11F

Forest Zone:
Apple Woods 1-6F
Foggy Forest 7-11F
Treeshroud Forest 12-21F

Forbidden Lakes:
Steam Cave 1-4F + Upper Steam Cave 5-7F + Fogbound Lake
Northern Desert 8-15F + Quicksand Cave 16-20F + Lower Quicksand Cave 21-25F + Underground Lake
Crystal Cave 26-30F + Crystal Crossing 31-36F + Crystal Lake

Paralyzed Land:
Chasm Cave 1-4F
Dark Hill 5-11F
Sealed Ruins 12-15F + Deep Sealed Ruins 16-18F + Sealed Ruins Pit
Dusk Forest 19-22F
Deep Dusk Forest 23-28F

Hidden Land:
Hidden Land 1-7F + Hidden Highland 8-12F + Old Stoneship
Temporal Tower 13-18F + Temporal Spire 19-24F + Temporal Pinnacle

Bosses:
Fogbound Lake: Uxie
Underground Lake: Mesprit
Crystal Lake: Azelf
Temporal Pinnacle: Dialga

Optional ("Nostalgia") Bosses:
Beach Cave Pit: Zubat and Koffing
Mt. Bristle Peak: Drowzee
Fogbound Lake: Fake Groudon
Sealed Chamber Pit: Spiritomb
Old Stoneship: Dusknoir and 6 Sableye
Temporal Pinnacle: Primal Dialga

How the "Nostalgia" Bosses work: At each location, your Dialga waits. When you talk to him, he will ask if you want to go back in time. Yes, when in "Paralyzed World," you are past the time that the Spiritomb battle took place. If you answer yes, Dialga will create a Dimensional Hole that only it will enter. Every team member that was in that battle (the one you won, of course) will be there, just like that battle, same items, moves, and stats. Dialga will be at a different point in space, but watching the battle, for when you win, you are sent back to Memory Island.

"Paralyzed World" and "Hidden Land" notes:
Dialga will use a new Interdimensional Hole (can teleport to and from worlds erased from existance, such as the Paralyzed World, that have been erased due to a change in history; it's what was used to get the player back from the Paralyzed World just after the credits.) to teleport the Player and Partner to the Paralyzed World, and then to the Hidden Land. Everyone else on the team will wait at the save point after the Hidden Land. It is almost impossible to recruit members here (I did up the chances by .1 percent, then made sure the Pokémon had at least 0% base recruit chance). If new Pokémon are recruited, they are sent to the guild immediately.

Pokémon: Each floor of this dungeon represents a certain 2 floors of the dungeon represented in that area, and any Pokémon that would appear on either or both of the two represented floors can appear on the floor in this dungeon. Special floors of a dungeon, such as Drenched Bluff B7F and Waterfall Cave B9F, that aren't like regular floors, are not represented. And if a dungeon has an odd number of floors, the last floor is squeezed in with the two before it into one floor, such as Temporal Tower's 11F-13F, all squeezed into Hidden Land's 18F. If you need an example, I'll put one in a later post.

Terrain:
Rocky Coast: Water

Mtn. Range: Waterfall (Waterfall base on lowest floor, water hole on highest)
Waterfall Base can be walked on by Water-Compatible and Floating Pokémon, though the Flying type and ability Levitate are ignored for Pokémon on it. The constant stream of water makes the weather function like a combination of Fog and Rain for all Pokémon in it, even Cloud Nine and Air Lock Pokémon and those wearing Weather Bands and related items.
Waterfall is the same, except non-Floating Pokémon are not allowed.
Water Hole is like regular Water, except non-Floating Pokémon are not allowed.

Forest Zone: Spring Water
Spring water is a magical water that restores 10 HP the first time you touch it on a floor, plus functions as a Water Gun attack for Pokémon with the Water Absorb and Dry Skin abilities. Water-Compatible, Floating, Ghost, Water Absorb, and Dry Skin Pokémon only!

Forbidden Lakes: Steam 1-7F, Mud 8-25F, Crystal Ice 26-36F
Steam: Water that is starting to evaporate changes Weather to Fog for the Pokémon on it. Water-Compatible, Floating, and Ghost Pokémon only!
Mud: Sand from the desert mixed with the little water available, and mud was created. The only differences from regular water are: All Pokémon except non-Floating Fire-types can go on it, and dig can be used.
Crystal Ice: Any Pokémon can go on this crystal clear ice, but Pokémon that aren't floating/passthrough/Ice type slide on it, into the wall or blocking Pokémon, and taking 5 damage. If no Pokémon or wall stands in the way, the victim slides to the next solid ground tile.

Paralyzed World: Chasm 1-4F (no walls at all), Water for the rest

Hidden Land: Chasm 1-12F, Time Terrain 13-24F
Time Terrain: At the start, there are no hallways. Just Rooms, Time Water and Time Walls. Time Walls are a type of Wall that is where the pathways should be. It starts crumbling away as turns pass. Each section of Time Wall crumbles if Time Wall Remains (a type of ground that is the remains of a Time Wall) or regular Ground touch the time wall (diagonal touching does not count) and it is a Crumble turn (every fifth turn, and the ground shakes slightly). Time Walls cannot be taken down any other way. Time Water is a type of water that evaporates on Evaporation turns (the turn right after crumble turns, the screen gets momentarily covered with steam rising from bottom to top), and again, only if Time Water Remains, Time Wall Remains, or regular Ground touch it (and again, diagonal touching does not count). Time Water can not be evaporated with a drought orb or Fill-In Orb. Time Water Remains will heal burns.

Restrictions: Must Recruit Dialga
Unlock Criteria: Recruit Dialga and go to bed. The next morning, after you wake up, Dialga will be just outside, and tell you about one of its favorite dungeons, "Memory Island", and now you can come! No guild graduation needed! No special rank needed! No grueling unlock dungeon you can't go back to! Just recruit it and go to bed!
Coming Soon: Memory Island 2: Darkrai's Revenge; Memory Island 3: Secrets of the Band

So, uh, woot. I'm new to dungeon-crafting, and thought it'd be neat if you could go kick the soot out of a couple of milquetoast baddies up in a dungeon that looks like a palace-shaped monsoon. And, of course, there's a flimsy vague, "Uh, there's a...thing. We don't want them to get the thing." plot hook for going there, but you don't really care about that. :)

But through the dimensional hole, a sudden drop in level can mean a big problem for them! Is it related to the hole? Will their level change be permanent? Find out in the FanFic Memory Island: the Story Behind the Cave!

If you can only have 10 items in your dungeon, how can you bring all 17 plates? D:
