Classic rock is cool, but I actually like a sound that can change. I listen to a lot of heavy metal/alt. metal. Alt. rock/punk is okay, don't really listen to it, I also like some jazz and stuff. Yeah, some of you people have a bad taste IMO, sorry.

Meh...I really don't care for classic rock at all. To me, newer rock, for the most part, just...sounds...better.

I just bought the newest Yellowcard CD; track 11 has got to be one of the best songs on there :P

Without a doubt, I love these bands.

Anyway, I'm into like, the more Nü-Metal scene. Stuff like slipknot, system of a down, korn, deftones. Stuff like that. I also like to listen to punk, metal, rock.

Also, HOW GOOD IS THE NEW SUM 41 Album? They ditched the pop-punk and now sing the heavier rock. It's fantastic.

My favourite two bands have to be A perfect circle and Tool. Maynard James Keenan is just the most brilliant american based musician of all time. Have your mainstream, I'll stay off the beaten track

Music keeps me sane

Country Music rocks...Haha, no doubt about that. I like some Rock songs too, but not too many of the current ones, because the current standard of english music pales in comparison to the old english music... Sheesh, I mean, bands get money and support for shouting like there was no tomorrow... Okay, some of the older singers shout too, but they know how to do it right(They don't shout throughout the whole song).

EDIT: J-pop? Haha, you won't hear much J-pop in the US, I tell you. You can hear way more in Asia here ^_^ *throws japanese dramas soundtrack into CD Drive* Hoho.

I'd be willing to bet that almost all of those going outta their way to listen to Japanese music don't appreciate it beyond the fact that it comes under the Japanese trend that's... well, pretty much the whole gaming community's conforming to. O.o I'd much rather listen to stuff I can actually understand.

Like... *points at sig*... or some GNR/Velvet Revolver/Queen/Chilis/Franz Ferdinand/Skunk Anansie... Basically, almost any guitar-based music. Although I have to say I'm really not that into punk right now. I really do think that the standard of pop music has taken a steep dive since the 80s and before (Who'd pick up an Elton John nowadays? How many Elvises have you seen around?). That and R'n'B are just about the only types of modern music I won't touch. Pretty faces in skimpy clothes moaning nonsensical lyrics seem to appeal to a lot of people over here, though.

It's a sad thing, really. Gone are the days when the actual music decided sales, for today is when image comes first. I'm not saying this is true for all music, however. I myself can admit to liking the odd pop tune here and there. Current favourites would be Snow Patrol, Keane and George Michael.

EDIT: Country music is the root of all evil.

What makes you say that? So many people have said that, and I honestly have no idea what's so awful about it.

The problem with country music is that it's all just so corny, more often than not is sung with irritating accents, and is all very, very predictable.

Hah! Some study proved that listening to Country Music makes you suicidal, and the guy who did the study got an Ig-Nobel prize for it. Of course, he says it doesn't really apply to more modern stuff, which has taken a different tone since the study was performed.
