Stereo types in my opinion are ways that others use to try and elevate themselves in their own mind. It is sad that people have to degrade others in order to make themselves fill good.

However, a lot of it is true. I didn't understand the vast numbers of stereotypes of nerds. Then I went to nerd camp. I understood. :P

I don't think any race is bad. They do have qualities that are great, and that aren't the best, but all are equal. Stereotypes are there for a reason- it's an exaggerated way of pointing out not only flaws, but good things about different people. That is, if it's a true or close to true stereotype, which most aren't. :P

It's all balance. You can take a stereotype and make it funny, or make it hurtful. Russell Peters has gotten the idea of "stereotype = funny, stereotype =not= bad." For those with no idea who taht is, see my avatar and wikipedia him. :P
Avatar was googled. It was originally done by ingenious comedian Demetri Martin, then put on the internet by someone. :P

Default Re: Stereotypes

The most common stereotype that i recieve is "The Smart Kid"...... But that is only by the people that don't know me well. =P

I don't mind it much, and it is rare that you will see me blow up at someone for saying it to me....

Another one is, just because the majority of my friends are female, because i am quiet alot of the time, and because I am not some obnoxios, loud idiot like the majority of guys in my school, people often think i am gay. Now that really pisses me off (not that there is anything wrong with them, but god, i 'effin' hate how ignorant people can be, because i am, in fact, straight.) :3

It must've been the combat boots, the trenchcoat, the long black hair, and the cigarettes.

But then again, I played Pokemon.

Then I became the weird goth.
