Default The Unofficial term becomes Official

Quote:
The Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Character Maker is made by Jakks, which also makes other products that require Goop. So, if you can't find any replacement Goop in stores, you can still purchase it online - because the refill packs may be designed for those other products, they might contain a different variety of colors. Time to make some Shiny Pokemon?
At Pokemon.com's mailbag, under "Seeing Red!", I found this. Do you think because they said this that the unofficial term of "Shiny" has become official?

Discuss.

It was unofficial at first. Then it started to build up to now, and I guess this is where Pokemon USA lets others know they've agknowledged it.

People have called them shiny since G/S/C, if they didn't acknowledge that as the official term and created a new one, no one would listen. They had to make it official.

I noticed and recall that while playing through the Hoenn games that in the "dictionary" feature for the trainer card and interviews and other stuff, that ALT. COLOR appears as a
choice. I suppose that "SHINY POKeMON", though not necessarily all shiny will likely continue to be so. Like in P/D, when a NPC states Pikachu's as being an orangey color rather than "goldish, neon, rusty, or something."
