Student Sells His Pokemon Collection to Help Tsunami Victims!

AIMEE GREEN, LAKE OSWEGO -- As part of 9-year-old Jackson Schwarz's reading class at Hallinan Elementary School, he pored over the pages of "It's Our World, Too!"

The book, by Phillip Hoose, tells the story of real-life kids and teens who make a difference: A boy who uses his allowance to fix beat-up bikes for needy children; a girl who feeds the homeless by seeking donations from a bagel shop.

Inspired by the book, Jackson told his mom that he wanted to raise money to help the tsunami victims in South Asia. His idea? Sell his Pokemon card collection to people driving by.

His mom was both shocked and proud.

"In the past, he's been able to give away some of his stuff, but never his Pokemon cards," said Marlo Schwarz, adding that her son's collection numbers in the thousands. [Click Here: Full Story]
