I think that Hyper Beam can be useful as a last ditch move, much like Explosion. If you're going to faint soon, use a Hyper Beam. Even if you don't kill the opponent, you must have taken out a good chunk of HP.

People underrate Hyper Beam. It's useful for OHKO'ing an opponent that can OHKO you.

If Slaking is using Return with a full happiness scale, Return reaches about 120 damage. Double-Edge is weaker, and causes recoil.


I agree that Hyper Beam has no real use, though.
