Problem with this "Paintbrush" program.

It works perfectly, EXCEPT for the Eyedropper tool. Every time I select an existing colour with it, it automatically brightens the colour. Although I doubt anyone knows how to fix this problem, I thought it was worth a shot. Anyone?

Thanks again.

No dude, like, it legit lightens the colour. Like, if I fill the colour that I eyedropped from, it's brighter.

I'm a veteran spriter here, but I've stopped for awhile, and now I use a mac. I have Gimp, Rita, Seashore, and Paintbrush but I can't figure out how to get a copied image transparent at all. I've even tried screaming at my computer at the top of my lungs? Anybody got any help for me?

Being a veteran to things such as art don't rely so highly on tiime--rathermore, WHAT you spend that time doing, how wisely you use it, how much actual experience you have. =/

Anyways, most advanced image editing programs, what you want to do is select the backgrounf

I only know on Gimp.

They're are two ways, if your getting your sprites from here.
1. If you save the image and open it in a layer it will be transparent. (I haven't tried this but I've been told it would happen. 0-0)
2. If you take the color selection tool or magic wand tool and lower the threshold to 1.0. You can click the black around the image and delete it, keeping the off-black outline of the sprite.

You may also have to add an alpha channel (under layers) if it turns white when you delete.

If you get them from Spriter's Resource all you have to do is use the magic wand tool on the color and delete it.

Hopefully that wasn't too confusing.

Need help with shading. I understand what pallets are, but I still dont understand how you match them with the colors of the original sprite for a recolor.

Well, after finding a pallet to put on to the Pokemon, you must put it close to the Pokemon. RIGHT click the LIGHTEST color you want the Pokemon to be. Left click the Pokemon's original sprite's lightest color. Do the same with the middles, darkest and Outlines. Use the ERASER tool and RIGHT click to change the color of the Pokemon.

If you do not understand this, then I believe you can not sprite, sir.

Alright guys. Solved my problem with the eyedropper tool. I'm runnign Photoshop CS5, but in MS Paint, you were able to select transparent backgrounds, and heneceforth be able to move only coloured objects. Does anyone know how I can do this in Photoshop?
Thanks,
-Nick

HIIIII IT'S MEEEEEE OMGGGG!! LOL
So I wanted to reopen my shop, but under a new thread. I won't be using the old one anymore. Though if allowed, I think I'll put a link to it within the new shop. Since I already have a shop and it has already been approved, and I have obviously improved since posting it, may I open another?

This isn't really the place to ask. I've gotten away with reopening my dead shop a couple times, so you could try that.

OR

Just PM a mod to open a new one.

I look forward to requesting from you! ;D
