Brian, who had been walking in a trancelike state, deep in thought, finally came to.

"The Moon Stone...I've heard legends of such a thing, but I always thought it was a children's fairy tale." Brian marvelled.

He looked on in awe at the glowing stone surrounded by joyful Clefairy.

"Well, Chad, do you have any intentions of catching a Clefairy, or are you just here to se them?"

Brian fingered a pokeball in his pocket, wondering whether it would be wise to throw it.

Atzie and Kendar stared at the elegant dance of the Clefairy, bouncing and twirling about like cherry blossoms in the wind. "Wow," Atzie whispered.

Upon hearing Brian's question to Chad she turned and said, "I don't think that would be right! Look at them," Atzie returned her gaze to the smiling and giggling Pokemon. "They're a community, a family. Humans don't have the right to intrude. I'm starting to understand the restrictions on coming to Mount Moon."

Chad appeared as if he were about to start speaking, with one finger in the air to start lecturing with, however before he could, he was stopped do to an intriguing situation. The Clefary started to all move towards one little nook in the room that was ahead of the trainers, and something shiny started to appear.

Some Clefairy would start hauling some of that peculiar black rock to the unknown area, while some seemed to be gathering more glossy material. It had a solid sound to it, something that was very heavy and sturdy. This continued on for a good thirty minutes, with the trainers in complete silence as the Clefairy were working diligently.

Occasionally, glimpses of the object could be seen due to some Clefairy moving their direction, and one could make out that it was metal of a sort. It was very definite in its shape, as it had direct points and sharp edges about it. Thus, Chad knew that the Clefairy were making something -- what, however, was still unknown.

Exchaning information with Marill, Chad thought that it was something to do in direct relation to the moon, as of course, the moon could be seen directly above the room the Clefairy were residing in, and it as a axiomatic truth that Clefairy adored it.

Finally, the moon took center stage, shining directly upon the stone that was in the middle of the room. The Clefairy stopped their work, and started to dance, praise, and frolock around it again. Grapping Atzie's hand, who had a hold of Brian, which in turn had his hand clasped with Minty, the four trainer's moved in the darkness to find out what the massive steel object was -- a spaceship.

Minty didn't say anything. A space ship? She could understand perhaps a stone with cravings about the moon but why a space ship? Her throat was a bit dry, or at least that was her excuse for not talking, so she didn' t bother to scream or gasp in awe but merely stare. Her blue eyes were wide and her sapphire gaze searching for any signs at all as to what the spaceship was there for.

Finally, words came to her but she was a bit too shy to say them right away. "Wh-what is g-g-going o-on?" She managed to whispered "Th-they' re Pokemon a-and this is a spaceship... There c-can' t possibly be a connection? it' s all a mistake..."
This wasn' t right. It was very wrong. It was very very very wrong. Why would the clefairy make a spaceship?Maybe they hadn' t made it... Maybe it was left there and the clefairy had tried to destory it...
What's going on?

Atzie's eyes widened as the moonlight struck the silver space ship, causing it to give off an eerie glow. Her jaw dropped open, and for a long while a sound did not escape her throat. Minty was the first to speak, vocalizing just what she herself had been thinking.

"That's right, th-they're only Pokemon!" she whispered. "They can't have a space ship. Can they?" Kendar was silently looking on with a similar manifestation of shock on his face.

The Clefairy were singing, an organized chant! "How... intelligent... are they?" Atzie questioned. The possible answers were both amazing and frightening. Either way, she had a feeling the group of trainers were going to find out.

Brian looked on into the dark alcove of the cavern with cold, discerning eyes.
"What is such an advanced mechanism doing in the midst of such a seemingly primitive society." Brian thought to himself, "How could this machine have anything with the Clefairy? They couldn't possibly have built it.." He stood staring, his mind racing, wondering, searching for a logical explanation for what lay before them.

"Well," Brian spoke quietly, turning to the others, "Should we risk getting a closer look? It seems to me like they'd defend the ship if they saw us as a threat..."

OOC: I think you guys know where I’m going with this one... Please, feel free to continue on the scheme of things!

IC:

The monumental structure still laid upon its belly, with an eerie aura that had settled around it. After gazing upon it numerous times, Chad thought to himself “Well, this is just like I imagined. Clefairy are out of this world Pokémon, though I had no idea that it was literal! Hmm...” The moon seemed to still sooth the multitudes of Clefairy that were ever present, though Chad knew it wouldn’t stay that way for long.

Chad remembered back to when he was an mere child, who yearned so much to be able to commence a new journey with Pokémon, one that he would never regret, one that had highlighted his life and made it worth the while. He had always had a pact with Marill that they would once go on a journey above all others; one that amplified the reasons to be a trainer.

Marill and Chad had been through so much together, just battling and roaming throughout the lands of Kanto and the Orange Islands. Countless trainers, a heap of unique Pokémon, and intriguing situations came upon them, however, none quite like this. That is why Chad wanted to come here so much, to fulfill his promise to Marill. Marill had been his true best friend, the one he could count on, and vice versa.

Thus, rethinking how important this was to him, Chad looked to his Marill, perched upon his shoulder, and then thought to himself once more. After he completed his sequence of concentration, he let out a sigh of agreement, with a determined look that had enveloped him. He was ready.

“Quick, let us be steadfast and quiet! Let’s get on board, and see what happens afterwards. I think we should check it out and see what goes on from there” Chad explained to his fellow trainers. However, when in the ship, he saw black, bold letters plastered to the parchment found in the cabin of the ship. Etched on it were the words, “Mission: Pewter v. 2.0.”

Chad recalled an old folklore tale that after having one successful mission with the space travel industry, citizens of Pewter secretly launched another space shuttle to the moon, as a way to discover more about the moon. The space shuttle was said to be boarded with only humans, however, the shuttle returned to the earth with no body on board, as it was a failed mission. Thus, the people of Pewter kept this a dark secret from the Pokémon world. But, having a good hunch about the scheme of things, Chad thought that the old folklore had even more truth to it than what was presented.

“What if Clefairy boarded that space shuttle...? What if that was the way they descended from the moon?”

Suddenly, Chad noticed the moon was falling backwards, and the Clefairy were starting to return to work. He huddled the four trainers, promptly saying “Let’s go into the back of this thing and hide! We can’t disturb the Clefairy!” He had only hoped to not be discovered. What would be the repercussions?

Minty nodded and hurried after Chad, her eyes glowing with excitement. This was the type of discovery that could take her out of the helper rank and make her one of Oak's real students or, better yet, land her a job! This was the momment she' d been waiting for!

She hurried after Chad and carefully boarded the ship, trying to make as little sound as possible yet still move fast. She quickly wandered into the back of the ship and tried to hide herself somewhere unimportant, behind some boxes that were in the back for some reason. Hopefully the boxes weren' t all that important and no Clefairy would come back to check on them.

"Cha--" Minty shut up when the Clefairy started to get back to work, slightly disappointed that she couldn't ask Chad what would happen if they got sent to the moon. That would suck big time. If Minty got stuck on the moon she' d never become an aid in Oak's lab! Not a real aid, at least!
The thought brought a little tear to her eyes but Minty brushed it away quickly. She didn' t want to start crying right now, she' d look so amazingly stupid!

When Chad first mentioned boarding the spaceship, her eyes widened, but she kept silent. Thoughts of Atzie's family, of home, of earth in general flashed through her mind. What if they went to the moon? What if they couldn't get back? Her hands began to tremble, a lump form in her throat. For a moment, the absurdity of the whole situation came to her, but it just as quickly left. This was real, and Atzie had to make a real decision.

Looking over at Kendar, she saw that he was looking to her. She was his whole world, wherever she went was home. The decision was hers. Atzie took a deep breath and swallowed hard, whispering to herself her life's motto, "Never look back."

They boarded the vessel, and soon were hiding in an obscure corner of the ship. The Clefairy were working again. Slowly, a humming noise could be heard. Only a whisper at first, its volume continued to climb, until Atzie recognized the sound. Engines!

Seeing the girls behind the boxes, and then Brian to the left of him, Chad's heart became filled with anxiety and anticipation, after the look of fear came upon all of them. Uncertainty was something that Chad had never liked, for the fact that it was itself - unknown for a fact.

However, one thing was for sure -- there were engines turning, and Chad could hear the faint sound of rocks dinging up against the Pewter v. 2.0 as well. He did not know if this was just a test, or if this was for real, until a clique of Clefairy boarded the space shuttle.

Chad studied all of them as they cluttered the space ship. There must be at least thirty of them, if not more, all of a salmon-pink color, and all looked remotely the same. But after Chad thought he had seen all there was to see, two different creatures boarded the flight. Pulling out his Poké-Dex, and turning the volume down, he learned that these were Clefable, the evolved form of Clefairy. They looked very powerful, elusive, and magnificent. A little too powerful to mess with, which made the act of hiding even more essential to the trainer's safety.

Finally, the herd of Clefairy, and the couple of Clefable were on board, and the door to the outside shut with a press of some random, multicolored buttons that had served as a way to shut it from the inside. Then, the booming blast that fired up resounded throughout the shuttle. They were about to take off...

Minty would never admit that she was scared, or at least not at that momment, as the engines began to hum. The doors closed and Minty knew that if this spaceship didn' t work she was doomed. She just had to pray that the Clefiable knew what they were doing.

She was suddenly more nervous then before as she realized how powerful the Clefiable were. She looked around despratly for comfort and finally just snatched Sparki and hugged him rather tightly. She just hugged him until he began to turn blue and then set him down and acted as though nothing had very happened. Sparki began to gasp deprsately for air while trying to remain as quiet as possible. If it weren' t for the fact he had to keep quiet he' d roast Minty right about now...
