Let's say I battle with a Shuppet I get 1 EV for attack does it mean that i must battle 200 Shuppets to get 200 EV for the pokemon I'm training? What is the maximum EV for each stat?

Firstly, don't double post. Someone will answer your question eventually. :)

Yes, EVs are raised that way, but factors can change it. Macho Brace doubles EV gains, as well as Pokerus. If the Pokemon you are EVing has Pokerus OR is holding Macho Brace, then, using your Shuppet example, you'll get two attack EVs, not one. But, if the Pokemon has both... then you'd get FOUR attack EVs.

EVs max out at 255, and, for each 4 points, you get one more point in each stat at Level 100. You have a total of 510 points to distribute between HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense, so use them wisely. However, I would only recommend EVing up to 252, as the extra 3 EV points are wasted if you go up to 255. That's why you see EV spreads on Netbattle such as 252/252/4.

EDIT: Wait, I may have got that fact wrong. ^_^' According to Serebii, extra points are given while levelling up.

Ok thanks a lot on the reply i really benefited from it. If you don't mind, let me ask another question, Is it possible to get the required EVs before lvl 100? After getting the 510 EVs, if i train on other pokemon, will my pokemon's stats change? Will their stats I worked hard to achieve be affected by pokemon i train on after getting 510 Evs?

if you are EV training, you CANNOT battle any other pokemon, until you get 510 EVs, which is gettable at any level. So, EV training during the early part of the game is not good, since your aim would be to beat the Gyms and go to new areas. I recommend you beating the Elite 4, then getting babies of all your pokemon by Daycare, and EV training from there, which means, if you want 252 EVs in attack; and not waste the other 258 EVs at all, you need to battle ONLY Shuppets. With macho brace, you need to battle exactly 126 Shuppets to get 252 EVs.

Boring work, but the outcome is good.

No.

Killing 4 Shuppets = 4 attack EVs = 1 attack stat point.
