Chapter 1- The Birds and the Beedrill

Two Ninjask, elegant ninjas of the skies, dashed through the sky furiously. Their helmet-like heads sparkled like gold in the orange sun that was directly overhead. A crisp breeze every so often allowed them to drift effortlessly towards their destination. Their red-tipped wings fluttered with the wind, as a large bee-like creature followed them.

The team of three, two Ninjask and a Beedrill flew vigorously over the skies of Kanto, in search of their master. A container, which was to be delivered to the pokemon’s master, was held by the Beedrill. The place they were going to was known as “The Hive”, base of operations of a secret organization. The container held all sorts of things vital to the research of the organization, and their new project called project LOCUST.

The project had been known to none except for five men; Finch, leader of the organization; Rust Makuta, second in command; Ace, leader of the Flying Aces; Ryan, head Scientist; and last but not least, Shogun Gama, leader of the Ninjask Union Division.

The Ninjask Union was a sub-organization that carried out the dirty work for their master, Finch. They were trained Ninjas, in a sense, who were highly trained in assassination and gathering intelligence. Of course, the group was extremely small, only accounting for about 5% of the whole of the Organization, known as team Swarm. Each member was anonymous, so nobody, not even Finch, knew who the members were. The only one who chose to reveal himself was Gama, the Shogun of the Union..

Before joining the evil organization of team Swarm, Gama was actually a good-doer. He was an elite Pokemon Ranger who always traveled with his companion, a Nincada. He was on a simple mission through a forest, when he was confronted by a man by the name of Finch. At the time, team Swarm was just a small gang, and Gama eventually became convinced that joining team Swarm would be good for him. He left the Ranger Union and joined team Swarm. Gama soon became close companions with Finch, and soon became obsessed with serving him. To further team Swarm’s ambitions, the ex-Ranger started the Ninjask Union, which was originally an intelligence organization. Finch, however, eventually persuaded Gama to carry out any work that was set out for them.

The Beedrill and two Ninjask approached a heavily shrouded forest, and slowed down immediately. They submerged into the lower level of the forest, the Beedrill tightly clamping onto the container. Cutting through the trees, they halted immediately upon seeing a man.

The tall man sported a deep green jacket, which covered his light grey undershirt. A hood, attached to the jacket, was over his head, some of his Brown hair peeping through. The man wore dark grey pants, with tall, dark boots to finish off the look. The pokemon could tell by the tattoo of a Ninjask on his right hand that this was their master, the leader of the Ninjask Union, Gama. The pale-skinned man began to talk slowly, in a menacing tone.

“I’m impressed our field Scientists were able to transport this so quickly” He said, tapping his finger on a low-hovering Ninjask’s mask. “You’ll need to thank them for me. Now, fly away quickly. I must deliver this to Ryan immediately. Our team needs to get to work on project Locust right away.

Gama looked at the contents of the container. It contained DNA samples from three different Pokemon: Heracross, Scyther, and Yanmega. Exactly what was needed to begin the project. Gama started walking towards the team Swarm base, a group of three Ninja following. They were dressed similar to him, but wore bandannas instead of hoods, and wore normal shoes rather than boots.

The Beedrill and its two companions began a return trip to Azalea town, where they had one more thing to retrieve.

Chapter 2- The Eighth Plague of Egypt

Four dignified looking men sat around a cold steel table, each with a smirk on their face. At the head of the table was a Scientist, Ryan, who was in charge of project LOCUST. He wore a white Lab cote with a forest green Swarm insignia on it. He wore goggles, which currently rested on his forehead. His eyes looked small without them on, and one could hardly make out that they were blue-colored.

The group was sitting in the team Swarm Laboratory, awaiting the arrival of Gonzap, who carried the missing pieces to the perfect design. Behind the Scientists elevated chair, there were many beakers containing multiple pieces of DNA from various bug pokemon. The goal of project LOCUST was to create the perfect bug pokemon, one so powerful, that it could destroy any other pokemon, and even humans, in combat.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, 4 Ninja leaping in, Gama among them. Gama presented the DNA to Ryan, who slipped his goggles on. Ryan immediately walked over to the table which held all of the beakers. Ryan grabbed the majority of them, and walked over to a third table, motioning the other team Swarm admins to follow.

The admins crowded around the table, watching Ryan splice the DNA in various sequences.

“It shall have the elegant wings of a Butterfree” The Scientist said “The harmful sting of a Beedrill. The Locust shall create dust, dust that can paralyze like a Venomoth. It will have the sharp claws of a Scyther” Ryan began to laugh evilly “It shall make webs as sturdy as Ariados! Its armor will be as strong as a Forretress’! It will have the strength of a Heracross! The speed of a Ninjask! And finally, the vision of Yanmega!”

A huge turbine began to spin, the entire team hoping for success. As expected, the monstrosity shared qualities with each of the pokemon that was put into it. The team was ready to unveil their plan

Chapter 3- The missing ingredient

The entire team marveled at the genius of the creature that was before them. When asked to do almost any task, it could complete it. The only problem, however, was that the new pokemon was so extremely slow, it wouldn’t stand a chance in battle. The team sat for hours trying to find a way to fix this.

“It’s probably Ryan’s fault” Rust immediately accused, adjusting his belt buckle that was in the shape of an “A”

“Hey, if anything, you guys brought me tainted ingredients!” Ryan yelled back, glaring at Gama.

“No way.” Gama said, trying to keep his cool “I made sure the ingredients were perfect!”

Ryan spent most of his day examining each ingredient carefully. Each DNA sample seemed to be perfect, not tainted at all. That was until he came to Ninjask.

“I’ve found the problem” Ryan smirked evilly and walked over to Gama, handing him a Syringe. “Your Ninjask DNA was completely messed up. Now, get a different sample. We can’t finish the Locust without it.”

Gama was shocked at this. He had spent months trying to fins the perfect DNA, and now he found that it was completely ruined. Almost immediately, Gama took his three Ninja companions and left, in search of the perfect Ninjask.

Gama walked through the shrouded, dark woods where he had spent most of his time. This forest was actually a team Swarm training ground, but it doubled as a national park by day. The forest was home to thousands of Ninjask, but none were perfect. Each had been experimented on cruelly by Scientists who occupied the Hive way before team Swarm even existed. Their goal was to make a device that could max out a pokemon’s energy, but each experiment usually lead to the death of pokemon or some terrible accident. The Scientists, who called themselves “Silph”, eventually created the device. Soon after, however, the Ninjask being experimented on were liberated by a group of vigilantes, but Silph continued their business, relocating to Kanto. Under new management, Silph became the leading trainer device cooperation ever in existence, doing their best to help trainers in need.

This just goes to show you how people can change in an instant. One day, you can be a heroic ranger, accompanied by a harmless Nincada; the next, you can be an admin of one of the darkest organizations in history, surrounded by three dark vessels.

And as Gama would attempt to find the perfect Ninjask DNA, he would have another change of heart. One that would affect his entire future.

Chapter 4- The Rusted Gates

A man with a dark trench coat stood in the doorway to the team Swarm Admin room. He sported two strong swords in sheaths that were connected to his belt. His belt buckled resembled an “A”. This was Rust, a man far more powerful than Gama.

Rust, pushed open the doors, cheers erupting from several workers when he walked in the room. Obviously liked among his men, Rust waved to one of them, giving a quick smile. He was like a celebrity in team Swarm, and he liked it that way. In fact, he had pulled many malicious stunts to steal the glory from some of his teammates.

The Admin room was, you guessed it, a private room for Admins. Several trusted workers, however, were allowed in to keep the office lively. To the far left, were the “offices” of Gama, Rust, and Ace. To the extreme right, was a much larger office, belonging to Finch. In the center was a large meeting room with 6 chairs in it (in case any workers were called into the meeting room as well). In the meeting room were large, elegant paintings of bug pokemon in their entire splendor. Examples of team Swarm uniforms were hung carefully in glass cases, which were mounted to the wall. From the looks of things, the Admin room (more like a mansion) was a very nice office facility. There was only one reason for that, and that is because the Admin room was completely visible to the public. The local citizens knew nothing of the sinister work going on in the hive, while team Swarm advanced their plans right under their noses.

Rust, now safely in his office, began to dream of his days as a Swarm trainer; on a squad with Ace and Gama.

The team of three, including Ace, Gama, and squad leader Rust, stood in the team Swarm training facility/Park. One man was dressed similarly to Gama. His green hood was down rather than over his head. On the right side of his chest was a badge symbolizing wings. This was Ace, soon-to-be leader of the Flying Aces division. A Tailow rested on his shoulder.

Rust, about 5 years younger, withdrew a sharp sword from its sheath. Gama, who at the time wasn’t the leader of the Ninjask Union, cracked his fingers. They were about to participate in the final test to become team Swarm Admins.

Almost immediately, three pokemon emerged from the darkness; A Nidoking, a Nidoqueen, and a Ryhorn. Rust, Ace, and Gama, sprang at their respective opponents. With little effort at all, Rust was able to efficiently knock out the Nidoking. With the help from his Tailow, Ace pulled off a perfect victory.

Then, the memory ended. Not even Rust, who lived for evil, could bear to think about what happened next.

Nobody could.

Chapter 5- Early Bird Catches the Worm

Ace, five years older than in Rust’s memory, looked almost completely different as he rode on his Swellow through the Jhoto skies. He sported a much more serious expression than before. His badge transformed into a golden one, with a large Swellow on it. His uniform also had changed a bit, turning from one similar to Gama’s, into one that looked more like a Pilot’s uniform. He was truly the only division in all of team Swarm that didn’t focus around bug pokemon. Instead, his specialty was flying pokemon. He was also recruited into Swarm by Finch, in a similar fashion to how Gama had been.

The Locust meeting was now completely over, and the admins, except for Ryan, had left the lab to further their own plans. Weather it was to collect DNA, to learn from the past, or, in Ace’s case, to search for an old friend.

It pained Ace to look back on the day he lost his beloved Pidgey to the monsters at team rocket. A man, who could have only been 20 or so, who called himself Reglay, had gone on a rampage through Ace’s small town. Thankfully, no one was harmed whatsoever, but the emotional pain left for Ace was unbearable. His only friend up until that point was his Pidgey, whom he had known since the day he was born. Now his only friend was taken away, and the boy spent most of his days sobbing in his room.

Then, it came time for him to go to school. His family had connections, and a seven year old Ace was sent to the Azalea Academy of Pokemon Training. There, he learned many battle tactics, and was taught in the art of training. He was never truly happy, however. One day, a popular local named Finch overheard Ace talking about his situation. Finch persuaded Ace to help Swarm, promising that he would personally find Rocket and take the Pidgey back. Ace could not refuse, and soon, power got the best of him. He somewhat forgot about his missing companion and, many years later, joined Rust’s Squad, along with Gama.

Ace flew directly above the training forest. His elegant Swellow swooped down onto the roof of the Admin room. Ace vowed that he would find his Pidgey, and soon.
