An experimental Hitmontop
So I had an idea, and I chose Hitmontop based on his high overall Defence and Sp. Def... I thought this up:
Hitmontop
Nature: Impish (+DEF, -SP. ATK)
EVs: (Sp. Def = 252) (Def = 252) (Attack = 6)
Ability: Intimidate
Moves:
Toxic
Detect
Protect
Brick Break/Dig/Aerial Ace
The plan is to Toxic on turn one, and switch between Detect and Protect until Toxic overloads and kills your opponent. The 4th move is insurance, sorta. Brick Break is strong and gets STAB, Dig gives you a turn underground (Hoping EQ won't be used), and Aerial Ace doesn't miss and has the most PP, and nothing is immune to Flying.
Has anyone used a set like this? I need some constructive criticism before I finalize this set... My Impish Tyrogue is waiting in my PC. I just thuoght it up and it seems like a winner. You could do this with Sceptile too, and basically anyone who learns Detect, but Hitmontop seems to have the best defences and a good Attack to fall back on.
Thoughts and suggestions?

If you are going to be Protecting/Detecting the entire time, what is the use of the Defensive EVs. I think you should put them in HP, and speed, and make this Jolly. I think should put Dig in the last spot, cause that saves you a turn, also. You have big problem if a fast mon with Taunt comes in, or something with Encore.

Re: An experimental Hitmontop
you want brick break.
steel are immune to poison, so you want something for when your opponent switches in to a steel type.

Steel is immune to Toxic, but so is Poison. Dig hits both hard, as long as the Poison or Steel mons' name's arent, Skarmory, Weezing, or Crobat.

Re: An experimental Hitmontop
When you use Protect/Detect/Endure and you use Protect/Detect/Endure the next turn, the percent is still the same as if you used Protect twice. You can't rotate between Protect and Detect and expect to be unharmed.

Yeah I tried to do the protect and endure thing with ninjast but it doesnt work It keeps failing after the third one so I'd say it has the same chances as using 2 protect and detect.

Re: An experimental Hitmontop
Yes, I thought of that with a Sableye tried it, didn't work, but still, EQ instead of Dig, more power, just watch for Skarm.
