Make sure you look out for "Mew tranformed" or "Mew picked up..."; this indicates that Mew is on that floor.

Easy way: Bring a Shedinja holding a Tight Belt and 19 One-Room Orbs and an Escape Orb. Use a One-Room Orb every time you get through another about 5 floors. DON'T use it on the 99th floor. Use the Escape Orb IMMEDIATELY when you have Mew.
You wouldn't need an escape orb because immediately after you recruit, it takes you out of the dungeon.

Actually the chances of Mew spawning is pretty low. The chances of one spawning range anywhere from 0.21% to 1.26% (highest chances of running into one are from floors 94-98).

That would be the chances of you recruiting a Mew after you've found one if you have no bonuses. If you are at least level 90 and are wearing a Friend Bow then the chances greatly improve to 43% chance of recruitment.

In other words, it should take the average person probably about 2 runs through before you catch it (assuming you are level 90+ with a Friend Bow). What I would do is run around floors 94-98 for awhile and bring a Luminous Orb so that you can see when and where a pokemon spawns and is. Other items I would bring would be some Huge Apples and some Max Elixers.
