We're able to have 1 set of two, and i was going to be able to hit them with 2 earthquakes per turn with levitate on flygon and claydol, and I'm only going to have access to 2 leftovers, but i'll move the choice band over, thanks

I think you're allowed to have one non-ground, and he evolves from a Larvitar, who is ground.

How about putting a Marowak in? marowak is a ground type and has high attack when used right.

well, the reason I came up with this team was for a character I came up with a while back named Despara, she is also the character I use in all my pokemon RPGs on the net, she used to be a gym leader in a small desert town called Haco, so she uses all desert pokemon, that's the main reason that I'm reluctant to change the team

Well if it's 2v2 double EQs won't be that great, since you'll be facing lots of claydols and flygons.
And since you're allowed two non ground types, you could either have an imrisonclops and use claydols to boom with one extra non ground boomer. Or use claydol to skill swap a slaking.

For Flygon, I'd go with Flamethrower instead of Fireblast. (The first Flygon) Flygon #2, I think Leftovers would be better than a Shell Bell. Claydol is good. Cacturne is a Grass/Dark-type. (But I think you can still use it...Right?)

Swampert...Replace Blizzard with Ice Beam. Leftovers would be good for Swampert too. I have no idea what Stealth Rock does. Tyranitar is good. I've never heard of Gaburaisu. (But I know it's a D/P Pokemon)
That's a really nice Ground-type gym.
