Re: Fire Red/Leaf Green in English?
What could that site be? Well if you found that I think is one of two things:
1) The webmaster / other, downloaded an English patch for a FR/LG Rom which is absolutely illegal, and I dont want to talk about that.
2) The webmaster / other, may have modified a japanese picture of it using a program like Paint or Photoshop and turned it to english.
Im sure it may be the first one. Well it depends on the reputation of that site =P The second one is also possible.

Re: Fire Red/Leaf Green in English?
I think you're talking about a hack... -_-'
http://lgtr.tk
Thats a site thats Translating Pokemon Leaf Green. They hack the actualy games, and change Hex values where text is stored, thus changing the Japanese letters to the English ones. The text that they change it to though is entirely up to the translator, but please, dont ask me or anyone else how you do this; learn for yourself. :P

Re: Fire Red/Leaf Green in English?
Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! If these screens are hacked translations, but actually translated nonetheless, then does that mean that names can only hold 5 letters?

Nope. Before R/S was released in english, I saw pictures which I knew to be of a hacked/translated ROM image, and the names on these could only hold 5 characters, but in the english versions, there was more space. There's no reason for Nintendo to make the names only 5 letters.

o...m...g...
Could you guys make any BIGGER a deal about the really small things that go on in the forums? "Don't double post" here and "don't do that there". Its like Nazi Germany, wtfz. If the kid wants to post in a week old thread, let him do it. Threads aren't supposed to only last 7 days then lock. And I highly doubt the admin wants to pay for the bandwidth uppage because someone started a new thread about an old topic ._.

Well, I agree with you about the 7-day-old thread thing... that's not long enough to consider a thread to be inactive, IMO. Unless, of course, the question has been answered... However, the rule against double posting is reasonable... ._.;
