Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift
I know its really short, but this is just an introduction, sort of. I'll be putting up another part every Saturday night.
Lezlie finished putting away the dishes when her stepfather entered the room. He dropped his coat on the counter and walked off without even saying hello. Which was normal for Lezlie, she never expected a hello from him. Ever since her four brothers went away to war her stepfather never spoke to her, and her three sisters getting married and moving away didn’t make anything better. Lezlie is the youngest in her family, her brothers’ ages ranging from 20 to 25. And her sisters’ ages range from 23 to 25. Lezlie put away her stepfather’s coat in the closet. She turned off the kitchen lights and walked into the family room. The room was big and neat. Bookshelves, sofas, a chair and desk. And a coffee table. Lezlie’s mother turned when she entered.
“Hello, Lezlie. Is the kitchen cleaned up?” Her mother asked.
“Yes, ma’am,” Lezlie answered. Her mother nodded. Her mother was a fashion model, so she always looked beautiful and smelled good. Well, she was that way to Lezlie’s stepfather. To Lezlie she was her mother, nothing more, nothing less. She never really enjoyed her mother’s perfumes and clothing choices. Lezlie liked to dress in a tomboyish way. Even though she did keep her red-brown shoulder length hair nice. That was just about all she did with her hair, never putting it up into something fancy.
Lezlie’s stepfather turned also. He seemed to be examining her. Which he did often. Lezlie gave him a loving smile, her stepfather only nodded in return. Inside Lezlie grew frustrated, why couldn’t he at least speak to her? Ever since her mother re-married he’d never spoken to her. Lezlie often caught herself wishing her stepfather were nicer. But she always scolded herself.
“Go and get some sleep, love,” Lezlie’s mother said in her silky voice, “You looks tired.” Lezlie nodded and walked out. She was tired, all day she’d been working in the garden, doing laundry, cooking, cleaning. And in her free time Lezlie grew new designs for her mother. And always those designs made it to magazine covers. Lezlie felt proud of her work. At times she also sang when she worked. Lezlie loved to sing, she sang everywhere she could. Many of her neighbors commented to her mother and stepfather about her voice. They always said things like “She’d make a wonderful singing teacher,” or “She’s such a beautiful singer.” But there was one statement Lezlie never understood: “She sings like a Jigglypuff.” Lezlie thought about it over and over, but could never really figure it out. She had asked her mother, but all she said was, “Oh, they’re just being nice.” Lezlie went to her stepfather and asked him the same question. But all he said was, “It doesn’t matter what people say about it. As long as its polite.”
Lezlie had finally given up trying to figure out what the comment meant. Lezlie undressed and slipped on her nightgown, the silk rustled softly. Lezlie pulled back the quilts on her canopy bed. She slid under the blankets and reached over to her nightstand. She picked up a gold picture frame, inside it was a picture of a man and his wife, they were standing on a beach. Five children stood in front of them. But the one thing Lezlie looked at was the man. He looked just like her, the same color hair, eyes, and the same smile. A tear slipped down Lezlie’s cheek. She gently kissed the picture and placed back on the nightstand.
Lezlie snuggled under the covers. She slowly fell asleep.
The next morning Lezlie was in the garden, she was getting rid of the weeds in the flower bed when suddenly three creatures popped out. Lezlie screamed and fell back…

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
No, she won't become a music artist. But she will sing sometimes. I'm going to find lyrics to some songs that she'll sing. I just heard one on the radio yesterday that I want to have her sing. I don't know when, though.

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
On second thought, she will become a music artist. I thought about it, and it'd go well with the fan-fic.
The creatures looked at Lezlie with the same look of fright. Lezlie had never seen such strange creatures. One was like an orange lizard with a burning flame on the tip of its tail (Charmander). The other two looked almost alike, except one was blue and the other was red. The red one had a plus sign on it tail, the blue one had a minus sign on its tail (Plusle and Minun).
“Stay, back, you three,” Lezlie warned, slowly inching back. She looked around for something to ward off the creatures. When Lezlie couldn’t find anything she panicked. The creatures seemed more afraid of her than she was of them.
“This isn’t good,” Lezlie muttered. The orange lizard had walked up to her. Lezlie was about to scream out for help, but the creature put its paw to its mouth, signaling Lezlie to be quiet.
“What do you want?” Lezlie asked. The creature began to explain why they had come. But to Lezlie it sounded like, “Char Charmander Char Char Char Charmander.” Lezlie looked at the creature with a confused look. It smacked its paw against its forehead, like her stepdad did when he forgot something.
The other two creatures walked up to Lezlie and climbed up onto her lap. Lezlie froze, she didn’t move. Then the orange lizard said something to the creatures on Lezlie’s lap. They hopped off and the orange creature again explained why they were there, this time pointing at things and drawing pictures in the dirt.
“So, you want me to take you on a journey?” Lezlie asked when the creature had finished. It smiled and nodded its head.
“But what kind of journey?” Lezlie asked. All three illustrated some kind of battle. The orange lizard spewed out a tiny ember of flame at the red creature, then the red one pretended to be defeated, it fell over and didn’t move. The blue oine said something and pointed to the orange lizard.
Then the lizard drew a circle in the dirt, it added a couple details and pointed to Lezlie’s belt.
“I don’t understand,” Lezlie said. The lizard’s jaw dropped open. It got frustrated and started talking something fierce, with a language Lezlie didn’t understand.
“Hey, calm down,” Lezlie said, glancing at the house, “No need to get worked up about. I’ll go with you on this journey, but first, what are your names?”
“Charmander,” The lizard said. The other two tried to tell Lezlie but she couldn’t figure it out.
“I’ll just call you Plus and Minus. How does that sound?” Lezlie asked. They nodded. Then Lezlie had to figure out how to get off the island without her parents knowing. Lezlie dashed back into the house, her mother was busy patching up clothing, and her stepfather was reading the newspaper.
“Hey mom. Can I go out for a walk today? Just to get some fresh air?’ Lezlie called from her room. Her mother looked at Lezlie’s stepfather. Without looking up he shook his head.
“Not today, dear,” Her mother replied, “Maybe some other time.” Lezlie poked her head into the living room. She glared at her stepfather, she knew he was the one behind it.
“Please, mom? I promise to be back by lunch,” Lezlie pleaded. Her stepfather sighed and looked at Lezlie.
“Fine, but be back by lunch,” Her stepfather said. Lezlie smiled and ran over and gave her stepfather a quick kiss on the forehead and dashed out the door, her knapsack slung over her shoulder.
“Thanks, dad! Bye!” Lezlie called before the door slammed shut.
Lezlie walked to the docks, Charmander, Plus and Minus walked close to her. Lezlie spotted a boat and payed for her ticket. Soon the boat set sail and glided across the water. Lezlie looked back to the island, she would miss home. But she was glad to go out on her own. Charmander looked at the water nervously. Lezlie gathered her newfound friends close.
“First stop, New Bark Town,” Lezlie told them. She’d never been there, before, but she decided it was the best place to start. Plus and Minus suddenly ran off. Lezlie ran after them, colliding with a boy about her age.
“I am so sorry,” Lezlie started, she helped the boy onto his feet, “I didn’t see you there.”
“Be more careful next time,” The boy scowled. Lezlie snorted.
“I said I was sorry,” Lezlie retorted. She didn’t know why the boy had to be so rude. Charmander suddenly squealed and pointed to land. Lezlie felt s excited, she wondered what kind of friends she would meet.
Lezlie didn’t have to wait long to walk on dry land. The boat docked and Lezlie, Charmander and Plus and Minus were the first to get off. She raced away, the town looked small, but she thought it was better than nothing.
Lezlie walked around the town. She saw a huge laboratory.
“Wow, that’s amazing,” Lezlie murmured. She walked some more and was nearly run over by a girl racing past on her bike. Lezlie smiled and walked down a path, she decided to go to the next town and see what was there…

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
Here's a picture of what Lezlie looks like, but first, I want to clear up a few things.
1. I drew this picture a long time ago. Before I even thought of this Fan-fic.
2. I got this picture from the back of an instruction bookelt for a video game.
3. Ignore the butterfly, I just made that for fun.
I know its a bit small, sorry.

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
Sorry to double post, but here's the next part! Enjoy!
Lezlie walked along a dirt path, she could see the town up ahead. She could barely keep her excitement inside. Charmander, Plus and Minus could tell she was excited. They’d grown used to her not knowing much about them. So they tried to teach her as much as they could, but they still couldn’t get one thing through: The ball that held them in. Lezlie didn’t have those things.
“Its such a beautiful day!” Lezlie exclaimed, suddenly a purple snake (Ekans) slithered out from the bushes. Lezlie screamed in terror. She stared at the purple snake, her brown eyes wide with terror. It stared back at her with the same fright. Charmander stepped between them it turned to the snake and said something Lezlie couldn’t understand. It then turned to Lezlie and took her hand, the purple snake extended its tail. Lezlie pulled her hand away, but Charmander spoke to her with soothing words (Of course Lezlie doen’t know what Charmander is saying).
“Charmander, I don’t think this is such a good idea,” Lezlie said nervously. Charmander rolled its eyes. Suddenly the purple snake darted away, making Lezlie scream again. Plus and Minus scolded the snake as it slithered out of view. Lezlie’s whole body trembled, she nearly fainted, but Charmander and Plus steadied her. Lezlie slowly walked the rest of the way to town.
Lezlie looked around herself as she entered the town, a sign read: Oldale Town. Lezlie saw lots of people playing with lots of creatures Lezlie had never seen before. She saw the very same boy that she’d bumped into on the boat stroking a red worm-like creature (Wurmple). Lezlie walked up to him, the boy looked up at her.
“Can I help you?” He asked, getting up. Lezlie nodded.
“Yes, I was wondering what my friends are,” Lezlie waved at Charmander, Plus and Minus, “I can’t seem to figure out what they are. There are so many other creatures around here, I was hoping to see one that looked like my friends.” The boy’s jaw dropped open. Lezlie wondered if she’d said something wrong.
“You mean, you mean you don’t know what they are?” The boy asked. Lezlie shook her head.
“No, I haven’t seen creatures like these before,” Lezie replied.
“Ever?” The boy asked, his voice filled with surprse.
“I already told you. I haven’t seen creatures like them before,” Lezlie answered, getting impatient.
“Oh, I see. Well, lets start with this one,” The boy picked up Charmander.
“This one’s name is Charmnder,” The boy started, Lezlie rolled her eyes.
“I know that,” Lezlie said. The boy smiled sheepishly. Then he picked up Plus and Minus.
“The red one is Plusle, and the blue one Minun,” The boy said.
“OK, I was close. I’ve been calling them Plus and Minus,” Lezlie said. The boy laughed as he pickedup the worm-like creature.
“And this is a Wurmple,” The boy finished. Lezlie gently stroked Wurmple, it let out a content sigh.
“How do you know all these names?” Lezlie asked.
“Well, I guess I spend a lot of time with them. Of course this helps, too,” The boy held up a strange looking device. He saw Lezlie’s confusion and quickly said, “This is a Pokedex, it records all the Pokemon you see.”
“Pokemon?” Lezlie asked.
“You mean that you haven’t even heard of Pokemon?!” The boy asked in alarm. Lezlie looked startled.
“Uh, no. That’s why I asked you what my friends were,” Lezlie told him. The boy sighed.
“Well, I’ll take you to Prof. Birch’s laboratory, there you can learn about Pokemon,” The boy said, “But first, tell me your name.”
“My name is Lezlie. What’s yours?” Lezlie asked.
“I’m Sam,” The boy said. He took out four of those red balls. Carmander, Plusle and Minun cheered, they each grabbed one and pressed a button, and in a flash they were gone. Lezlie stared in horror. Sam quickly explained that they were inside Pokeballs. So now Lezlie could travel without having to keep an eye on them all the time. The Sam took the last Pokeball and put Wurmple inside it, and then handed the ball to Lezlie.
“Here, its your now,” Sam said, Lezlie took the Pokeball and put it on her belt, along with the other three Pokeballs.
“Well, lets go!” Sam said, he grabbed Lezlie’s hand and led her back up the path…

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
Oh, yay! Luff it! Just one thing: When you say "its", in your story, it would actually be "it's." "Its" is a possessive form of "it." It means that what ever belongs to "it" is "its." (The Pokemon hopped onto its trainer's back.) "It's" is a contraction for "it is." There are a few cases where you put "its" where "it's" is what belongs. S'ok, though, Entei. Otherwise there aren't very more mistakes. Good job!

Re: Lezlie, a special girl with a special gift.
Sam burst through the door of the laboratory, Lezlie close behind.
“Prof. Birch!” Sam called. Lezlie looked around herself, lots of machines and other equipment were everywhere. Men and women in lab cots stood at tables doing experiments or at computers.
Soon a man walked towards them, he wore khaki shorts and a dark blue shirt, a lab coat over his outfit.
“Prof. Birch, this is Lezlie, she’s new around here,” Sam explained, “She wants to learn more about Pokemon.”
Prof. Birch looked at Lezlie with interest.
“I see, you already have four Pokeballs, that’s a start,” Prof. Birch said.
“Prof. Birch. Lezlie never knew about Pokemon until a Charmander, Plusle and Minun came to her house. She didn’t know what they were,” Sam explained. Prof. Birch looked at Lezlie in surprise.
“You’ve never known about Pokemon? Ever?” Prof. Birch asked.
“No,” Lezlie answered, feeling a little embarrassed, “This is my first time off the island where I live.”
“Well, let’s get started on the basics,” Prof. Birch said, leading Sam and Lezlie outside. He handed Sam a Pokeball and whispere something to him.
Once they were otside again Prof. Birch set Lezlie and Sam in some sort of arena.
“Let’s try fighting, first,” Prof. Birch said, “Sam, help Lezlie go through the battle slowly. Let her take as much time as she needs.”
Sam sent out a blue creature, it had a finned tail and a fin on its head (Mudkip). Lezlie copied Sam’s movements and sent out Minun.
“Wonderful! Now, you can attack first,” Sam told her.
“Like what?” Lezlie asked, her cheeks blushing with embarrassment.
“Attacks like Thunderbolt, Quick Attack. Things like that. But we’ll stick with Thunderbolt, and learn the rest of the attacks later on,” am explained.
Lezlie was a quick learner, shewon the battle fair and square, She leaped for joy and grabbed Minun and spun around. Minun squealed with the equal happiness.
“I have never seen a trainer look that happy,” Sam said as he watched Lezlie.
A little while later Prof. Birch taught Lezlie other things about Pokemon. Before he sent them on their way he gave Lezlie and Sam a device called the Pokedex.
“You can record all the Pokemon you see on your journey,” Prof. Birch had said.
While Sam and Lezlie were walking something rustled in the bushes. Lezlie stopped, Sam did too. Suddenly the purple snake shot out of the bushes and landed on Lezlie, she screamed in terror and fell over. Sam quietly instructed Lezlie not to move, he slowly pulled the purple snake off of Lezlie and held it in his arms. Lezlie stood up and took out her Pokedex, she recorded the pruple snake as an Ekans.
“Now that you know what it is, you can catch it,” Sam said, placing the Ekans on the ground. Lezlie stared at the Ekans with fear in her eyes.
“I- I think I’ll pass on this one,” Lezlie stammered. Sam laughed and took out a Pokeball.
“Don’t tell me your afraid of a little Ekans, Lezlie. This one’s just a little baby,” Sam said, he threw the Pokeball at the Ekans, and with one swift movement the Ekans was caught.
“Is it always that easy?” Lezlie asked.
“No, usually you have to battle it first,” Sam explained, “But with weak Pokemon you can catch them easy.”
Lezlie nodded slowly, she soon got over her fright and continued on down the path. She wondered what other Pokemon she’d run into. She then thought about her parents, they were probably wondering where she was, it was way past the time she was supposed to be home.
“Sam, what are we gonna do now?” Lezlie asked, pushing the her thoughts away.
“Probably to Petalburg. That’s where a Gym is,” Sam said, he explained that a Gym was a place where trainers could battle a Gym Leader and gain a Gym Badge.
“Lots of trainers want to be a Pokemon Master,” Sam explained, “That’s what I want to be.”
Lexlie thought about her own dream, she hoped that dream would come true. Lezlie was so busy with her thoughts she didn’t even hear a car zoom past, she snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a voice yelling at her to move…
