Default Quick Reply

Can you please disable the "Quote message in reply?" box for quick reply by default? (Or better yet, make it so you don't need to click that annoying quick reply icon to activate it?) You have no idea how often I've accidentally left that stupid box on and quoted a message that has nothing to do with my post.

Clicking it is the only way.

I know that. That's exactly what is annoying me. I'm on a bunch of other vBulletin forums and none of them have that stupid option enabled by default, so why does this one?

Aside from that, it is very easy in the vBulletin admin CP to make it so that you don't need to click a quick reply icon in somebody's post to activate quick reply.

That's how I want the Quick Reply feature to work. In many instances, people reply without quoting, and it makes it difficult to understand what in particular they're replying to. So I made it easier for people to quote a post they're replying to.

However, of course, by doing this, for posts you don't want to quote, you have to unclick the quote message option.

I weighed the pros and cons on this situation, and I believe the pros outweigh the cons. Of course, it might be annoying to have to unclick quote, but the benefits are that people will quote appropiately much more often and be able to quote much more easier due to this.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's also a convenience when you use the Quick Reply to quote a post. You're use to one way to do Quick Reply on other forums, you just have to get use to this way of doing it on this forum.

Couldn't you make it optional? Just wondering. Like having an option inyour profile.

Unfortunately, there's no feature like that. If I apply one setting, for this particular setting, it applies to everybody. But yea, that would be nice to have.
