Question My turn for a Milotic question

Milotic @ Leftovers
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
EV's: 212 Hp / 244 Def / 52 SpAtk
-Surf
-Ice beam
-Recover
-Hypnosis

What EV's would be good for a Milotic like this? And is Bold a good nature, because shouldn't a water pokemon be more worried about Sdef? And since Milotic gets the boost from Marvel Scale when it's "in a pinch", wouldn't its defense not be a problem anyway?

I know, I know, too many questions, but try to forgive the noob

everyones a nub at sometime don't worry

132 HP / 252 Def / 68 SAtk / 58 SDef

i like that, some people may switch around the special attack and defense and hp a bit but its pretty basic: pour everything you got into defense and split the rest amongst hp, spa, specdef

milotic's base special defense is 125, and i believe its base defense is 70.
its not just the "supereffective" that matters ;)

btw marvel scale is only when it has a stat condition like a burn

Bold Nature is fine, and like bleep said you can juggle around the HP, SAtk and Def EV's, but his spread gives a good indication of what it should be. I'd keep Defense maxed btw. And I like Hypnosis over Toxic.

I'd max out HP first, especially on a Defensive pokemon. HP covers both spD and Def, so investing 252 into that would make it a much better tank. Especially if there are attacks that override defense powers (Seismic toss, for example).

I'm personally more in favour of the +spD nature (Calm, is it?), because its spD is why it's such a good tank, and it's quite possible to switch out to a physical tank when necessary. Not that I wouldn't put any EVs in Def, I'd still invest quite a bit, but if you can get Milotic Thunder-waved (or sleeping from rest), its defense will raise substantially to cover itself.

So you're thinking something like...

Milotic @ Leftovers
Calm nature (+SpDef, -Atk)
EV's: 252 Hp / 132 Def / 68 SpAtk / 58 SpDef
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Rest / Recover
- Toxic / Hypnosis / Sleep Talk

??

Your moveset is great u should be proud milotics are hard to raise from begining . I like the leftover but i went shellbell(say thing but its cooler ) recover/toxic making him hard to kill, ice beam for nasty grass, and surf for a super defense pokemon your all set to go .( i suggest u add another water pokemon lapras and teach it raindance, recover, thunder, and icebeam.Lol makes u impossible to lose (unless a person with 6 ubers ). Ubers=icky pants

212 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spd / 40 SAtk

Enough special attack to OHKO 'Mence consistently is a must-have or he tramples Milotic into the ground. It could also be 40 special defense though, or 212 HP / 244 Def / 52 SDef I suppose, giving 384 HP and defenses of 280 / 299. 212 HP gives max Leftovers recovery.

Milotic's Water typing gives it a typing with no physical weaknesses, making it more ideal for taking physical hits. It also comes with a base 125 special defense built-in, but its 79 defense is good enough to use with its HP to make it an effective mixed wall. Snorlax still tramples it though, as do STAB Electric types and the more vicious special attackers like Gengar (3HKO iirc, but potential 2HKO when he gets max damage).

Ignoring the circumstances in which this point was raised, it cannot be denied that I do in fact have supernatural powers and am jesus (lower case "J" please I'm not an egotist but I don't need you silly little people mispelling my name).

I like toxic over Sleep. But Sleep will lure out any Blissey so you can switch to Dugtrio ~

Not really. I just like 201 speed to outrun random 198-200 Speeders like Metagross.
