I think I will play as a boy 'cause I always did.

But I do wonder if you ever can play as someone other than a boy or a girl.

I'm 99% sure I'll be going with the girl. From the (crappy) shots we've got of her, she looks pretty awesome. Just wish they would have given us one good angle, like with the male character. ^^'

I always pick female, mostly because they're better designed. Gen VI is no different. And yes, I'm a dude.

I personally think the male character looks too much like James, and the female character looks much better, what with a fresh change of having blonde hair.

Depends on the designs for them. I don't remember the girl in XY, but the boy looks pretty cool. I tend to sway with male unless he looks ugly (BW2 Male; Kneesocks. >.>) or the girl is significantly cooler (RSE Girl; may be anime-biased. :P).

I like being honest in games, so I choose to be a boy all the time.

I get both games. The game I play a guy in is my PokeBank; the other one, where I alternate between guy and girl, is for Nuzlockes, reruns for mons, ect. To be simpler, I play as both, though the male is played more often.
