There are many universes out there, some aware of the others while the rest are only aware of themselves. It is extremely rare for two to have contact, but once in a blue moon something happens that is unexplained and unprepared for.
In the Pokémon world the Legendary Pokémon were locked in battle. It is unknown exactly what Legendaries were in this battle, however when attacks collided it could be seen from miles away. At the same time, in another universe, summons called Eidolons were also locked in battle. In this universe there are many worlds, most unaware of each other. However that did not stop these powerful creatures locking in battle to prove their strengths. Both of these battles were happening simultaneously, completely unaware of the other. Yet it seemed like everything was timed perfectly. Attacks would collide at the same time in both universes, each collision releasing more power and raw energy each time. It wasn’t until all combatants in both universes used their most powerful attacks did something happened. The techniques were not dodged but collided with all the others, releasing a ton of power and energy. Since this happened at the exact same time in both universes, this caused a space-time rift. Before anyone could figure out what was happening, everything was engulfed in a blinding light before everything went black.
When citizens of both worlds woke up, everything had changed. Their universes collided, thus creating a new world. At first people were confused and tended to get into fights, but some people banded together to keep the peace. They called themselves the Council. This group was made of gym leaders, Elite Four members, and Champions for the Pokémon universe as well as high-ranking officers and leaders of the other. Under the Council’s watch the citizens started to trade information on the creatures that were also transferred to this new world and technologies. It wasn’t long until cities and towns were made and new materials were discovered. The main power source they had were crystals that were soon discovered under ground, having a magical and electrical property that made it a great source for power and electricity for the technologies. This way they didn’t need to rely on electric-type Pokémon. Also this crystal became the new material that made Poké Balls, and instead of the normal tech it was infused with magic from the other universe. It worked just like a normal Poké Ball, it was just made differently and out of new materials.
Unknown to all, the Legendary Pokémon and the Eidolons that caused the merging of worlds were trapped in the crystal. They had lost all their strength after the collision. Now with some of their strength back, they are trying to reach out to people they believe can set them free. But there is a problem. Those trapped in the crystal cannot even recall their own names. And with their names also comes their powers. So without their names they cannot regain all their lost power. But perhaps if they connect with someone, that person can figure out what their name is. Once they figure it out, the person would have to locate the Legendary or Eidolon in the caverns, stand before their prison, and call out their name. Only then can they be set free with full power.
Everything was going well for a while. Eventually another civilization was created under ground in the crystal caverns. Things were peaceful between the above and under ground civilization. But peace doesn’t always last. Behind the friendly faces there are some members of the Council wish for things to go back to the way they were. Secretly they study and experiment, but so far all their tests have all failed. Even trying to increase the power with the crystals, nothing worked. Frustrated, they almost gave up. That is until the energy fluxes in the caverns started.
Even if the Council is unaware that it is the Legendary Pokémon and summons, they believe that if they could harness this power that they can reverse the fusing of worlds. Those in favor of this went to investigate the energy fluxes by abusing their power and forced their way into the caverns. During their investigation they had no regards for the miners, treating them as if they were the in the lowest social class. This caused the under ground civilization start rebelling. They would supply a few towns and cities, but the main city where the Council resides they cut back and eventually stopped sending crystal supplies to.
As well as this was going on, other things started to happen. Citizens started hearing voices, not knowing if it was their imagination or not. Unknown to them it was actually the Pokémon and summons that were trapped in the crystal. They were reaching out to people in hopes that they could be freed. Will those trapped in the crystal ever be released? Or will the members of the Council be able to locate and tap into the source of the energy fluxes in order to separate the worlds? It all depends on what hand they were given and how the players play the game…
All PE2K Rules.
Rating for the RP will be PG13+, meaning that some acts of affection, mild language, and violence is acceptable. Nothing mature rating. We are dealing with Final Fantasy here, so mild language and violence is expected.
Please be respectful to other players and their choices for their characters. We are all different, so it is expected that characters will be different as well. Do not put someone down for things like if a character appears to be a mary sue (I'll deal with that) or perhaps their choice for their character's sexuality.
Bunnying is only allowed if the player of the character gives another player permission to do so in case of to move all characters to one location or the player of the bunnied character will be absent for a time.
Both canon and original characters are accepted. For canon characters I will allow some creative freedom. Add your own twist to the character (like minor wardrobe change, addition to personality, ect.), but do not stray too terribly far from the original character. I want canon characters to still be recognizable.
Pairings are allowed, whether they be canon or not. CanonxCanon, OCxOC, or CanonXOC is fine. I'm also allowing same sex couples and perhaps triangles. Drama does make for a good story when done correctly and doesn't interfere with the progression of the main plot.
Not every character can have a Legendary Pokémon or Eidolon trying to reach out to them. Let's try to have some characters that aren't forming links.
If you are going to be absent or inactive, please let me know. I don't want someone to get so far behind that they can't catch up or leave characters behind.
If they so choose, Eternal Moonlight and Winter can accept and deny SUs. They helped me greatly with this idea, so this is the least I can do for all their help.
Name: Age: Gender: Appearance: (picture or at least one paragraph) Personality: (at least one paragraph) Home World: (you can simply say Final Fantasy or Pokémon; if FF please mention which one) History: (optional but recommended; can just state important events. I don't need a novel) Pokémon: (up to ten, no legendaries, shines and recolors acceptable) Link: (aka what Legendary Pokémon or Eidolon is trying to reach out to this character) Other: (anything else you wish to add)
Q) What is the level of technology in this world? A) The tech level is similar to the Final Fantasy games, even if the life style may be more like that of the Pokémon world.
Q) Is this world based on a pre-existing one or is it all new? A) I cannot say for sure. I haven't really thought o the land layout. I'd say it's similar to the Pokémon world, but it's the same. I hope that makes sense.
Q) How is the Council reacting to the loss of crystals? A) Not so well.
Q) Can two people have the same Legendary or Eidolon? A) For Pokémon, no. There is only one of each Legendary. If it's taken then it's taken. For the Eidolons, I'll say yes because the designs and some abilities are different in each game. But you'll have to state which game it's from.
Q) Is there a move limit for Pokémon? A) No, your Pokémon are not limited to only four moves like the games. They can remember all moves that they have been taught, but cannot know every move on their moveset. Keep it decent please.
Q) What exactly is the underground civilization? A) It's just a civilization underground. It's middle class and most of the work is in the harvesting and processing of the crystals. Some go to the surface for Council meetings and to trade shipments, but otherwise it's just another civilization.
Q) Can the Final Fantasy characters keep their weapons/abilities from the games? A) Yes, within reason with their abilities. Some might not work with the fusing of worlds.
Q) Can someone be linked to a Pokémon and a Eidolon? A) No, a character can only be linked to one or the other, not both.
Name: Crystal Momoyia Age: 18 Gender: ♀ Appearance: *clickie* Image was made with hapuriainen's Pokemon trainer creator on deviantART. Personality: Crystal is naturally a kinda and curious person. She rarely ever gets mad or upset and will always go out of her way for a comrade. She always plays fair in competitions, but never forgets to make sure that her Pokemon's well-being is top priority. She cares deeply for her close friends and family, which includes all of the Pokemon she has caught over the years. Crystal has and will continue to go out of the way to make sure her Pokemon are alright, even if it means taking the hit herself. There has been more than one occasion she has put herself in the hospital for putting herself in between a Pokemon and potential harm, but that is something she has and never will regret. She also enjoys working out and training with her Pokemon since she is an active person, not being able to stay put in one place for too long unless given a reason to. All in all Crystal is a loyal companion to have who will always have your back but also a fierce competitor on the battlefield. Home World: Pokémon [Pallet Town, Kanto] History: Crystal is the middle child of three daughters, her older sister being five years her senior and her younger being five years her junior. Her parents were a loving couple, always giving attention to each of them. Her older sister left on her journey when she was old enough with an oddly colored Vulpix that she got from their parents and an oddly colored Squirtle from Professor Oak. It wasn't long after that her parents have her a Meowth, which ended up being the only Pokémon she would have on her team that would not be nicknamed.
Crystal began her journey like any trainer. When she turned 10 she went to Professor Oak to get her starter Pokémon. Since she arrived as early as possible she was able to get the one she wanted. She chose the fire starter Charmander, but the one she received was unnaturally colored. But that didn't change anything. She then took the Charmander, which she named Blitz, to show her parents and to get Meowth to take with her. She wanted to leave with the cat-like Pokémon as well, and after final goodbyes she left with her two partners.
She traveled all over Kanto, catching many Pokémon and challenging all of the gyms. In the Indigo Conference she was in the top eight, and even if she didn't win the whole competition she was proud of herself and her Pokémon. She had also challenged the Elite Four and the Champion, but those ended up in loses. Not discouraged at all, she took three of her main team - Persian, Blitz who was now a Charizard, and a Raichu named Raiden - and then went to Johto to repeat what she did in Kanto and hopefully rank higher in the Silver Conference.
It was in Johto that she encountered a trainer named Seth Black. He was a little bit older than her but that didn't seem to matter. Crystal had battled him and won, and the two started traveling together. He seemed like a nice guy and was surprised that her Persian was able to defeat his Weavile. But little did she know that the man she thought she knew was just a lie. He then saw how he was treating one of his Houndoom, and again she challenged him. But this time if she won she wanted to take Surge, the Houndoom with blue eyes and the scar. It was a lot harder to defeat than she thought, but in the end she was victorious and the Houndoom was added to her team. It took a long time for him to listen to her in battle, but once she was able to get past his walls and get him to open up Surge became a permanent member of her team. And with his help she won all the badges needed and made top eight in the Silver Conference.
After that she traveled to Hoenn, where after entering the Ever Grande Conference and getting all eight badges she ranked in the top four. After Hoenn was Sinnoh, and there she ranked third in the Lily of the Valley Conference. In between these conferences she also traveled the Orange Islands as well as challenging the Battle Frontier, which she won both challenges. After the Lily of the Valley Conference, however, she challenged champion Cynthia. She ended up losing that battle, but that only fueled her desire to beat the older woman more. So she returned to Kanto to train once more and again challenge that region's champion. She had beaten the Kanto champ, but since it was not an official battle she did not become the Kanto champion. Instead she was listed as an elite trainer, which was fine with her. After that she decided to travel Unova before challenging Cynthia again. She went to this region with only Persian and Surge by her side.
However after she won all the badges she did not enter the Unova League right away. Instead she went back home to meet with her sisters in Kanto. Her older sister became a Pokémon researcher, studying oddly colored Pokémon, while her younger sister became a coordinator with her main partners, a Delcatty and a Venusaur. However that's when the light came. Before she could reach Pallet Town there was the blinding light, and when Crystal came to she first checked on her Pokémon. That's when she noticed that she had four extra Poké Balls. She was unsure how they came into her possession since they should have been with her older sister. But putting the thought aside she then went in search for her sisters or someone she knew at least. When the Council was formed she was one of the trainers recruited to teach about Pokémon along with her older sister. All the Momoyia siblings seemed to have been transported to the same location, and even though happy to be together they can feel that something is wrong. Especially Crystal since she keeps having visions in her sleep, and they usually show something deep in the crystal caverns. Pokémon: Persian (♀) | Surge (♂) | Blitz (♂) | Puck (♂) | Raiden (♂) | Ryu (♂) | Silvana (♀) | Calder (♂) | Takeshi (♂) | Avalon (♂) Link: Mew Other: Crystal has a heightened sense of aura, but cannot manipulate it. All she can do is scan the area around her for traces of another person or Pokémon's aura, as well as tell a person or Pokémon's emotion or if they are lying or not. She's also one of the few trainers to be able to understand Pokémon language and is no hesitant of letting others know of this ability.
Name: Jihl Nabaat Age: 20+ ((can't find out how old she is supposed to be in the game)) Gender: ♀ Appearance: Jihl is 5'5" (5'9" with heels), has blond hair reaching all the way down to mid-thigh, and wields a baton which she uses in a fencing fashion. Jihl's glasses, which she normally wears unless in a fight, are thin-framed and have her initials in Cocoon script engraved in the arm. She actually wears the glasses to appear kind and trustworthy, not because she needs them. Personality: Jihl is described as cruel and heartless. On top of that, she's no less than a cold and calculating sadist who sees herself above normal humans, seeing them as flawed objects she can use in her own agenda despite some of them being fanatically loyal to her. As a result that mindset, Jihl loses patience easily when things go wrong, projecting blame on her subordinates and giving desperate orders to regain control. Home World: Cocoon [FFXIII] History: WARNING! This history contains spoilers to Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2, as well as what I personally would have liked to see and my take on a few things. Not everything is canon to the games.
[pre-FFXIII - canon]
Proceeding the incident at Euride Gorge, Jihl and her PSICOM troops were sent to monitor the facility, deemed as an official "state of emergency". Arriving on the grounds, she met Sazh Katzroy and his six-year-old son, Dajh, who had been detained for inspection. She dispatched injured tourists to the plant's plaza, before sealing off the area, taking Sazh and his son back to the offices to discuss Dajh's condition.
Learning that the young boy had been branded a Sanctum l'Cie, Jihl ordered him to be placed under PSICOM supervision in hopes of determining his Focus. She implored Sazh to allow his son to remain under their custody for further testing; though Sazh was initially reluctant, he eventually relented. When Dajh asked to go to the annual Bodhum Fireworks, Jihl authorizes the trip - along with a troop of PSICOM soldiers - hoping it could possibly lead them to discovering his Focus.
Jihl traveled alongside Sazh and Dajh, and as their vehicle drove into Bodhum, Dajh's Focus was finally revealed; he could sense beings of Pulse origin. Jihl dispatched a team to excavate the ruins as she supervised the rest of the trip. The Pulse fal'Cie Anima was discovered in the Pulse Vestige, and the Bodhum lockdown was initiated by Jihl and Yaag Rosch.
After using Dajh's power to confirm that the Pulse l'Cie, Serah Farron, had been engulfed by the Vestige Ruins, she returned him to a monitoring facility, with the intention of developing and using Dajh's powers to protect the people of Cocoon. Dajh was to be held under her supervision for an indefinite amount of time. Jihl authorized Sazh's last request of traveling to Palumpolum to buy his son a coloring book, offering him use of the military airships, unknowing of Sazh's true intention of taking his son's Focus into his own hands.
[during FFXIII - canon]
Arriving at Nautilus, Jihl's true colors are revealed when she captures the wandering Sazh and Vanille, telling the two that having them arrested was apparently Dajh's Focus all along. She plays with Sazh's emotions by showing him the enhanced security footage from Euride Gorge, revealing how his crystallized son became a l'Cie through Vanille's actions. Vanille runs off crying with Jihl telling her men to stand down while letting Sazh go on the assumption that he will kill Vanille for them and supply them with more invaluable data. But Sazh can not bring himself to kill Vanille or commit suicide.
Immediately after, Jihl's group captures him and Vanille, with Jihl once again toying with Sazh's emotions by telling him that the Sanctum will build a memorial in Dajh's honor within Eden, putting his crystal on display. After Sazh objects to it, Jihl heartlessly asks him if he would want Dajh to be remembered as the son of a hated Pulse l'Cie or as a symbol of sacrifice. Rendering the furious Sazh unconscious with her baton, Jihl oversees him and Vanille being taken to the Palamecia for public execution with Primarch Galenth Dysley overseeing the matter.
When Lightning's group breaks into the Palamecia with Cid's help and regroup with Vanille and Sazh, Jihl becomes vexed with how she is losing control of the situation, and seems to lose control of herself at one point, smashing her glasses into the floor. Once the l'Cie arrive, with Sazh wanting to settle things with her, Jihl goes to confront the l'Cie so Dysley can escape. However, Dysley, deciding to reveal his true nature, deems Jihl to have outlived her purpose and fatally strikes her down with his magic, along with the other Palamecia crew members, so he can talk to the l'Cie personally.
[during FFXIII-2 - not canon]
Surely when the Primarch attacked her with magic, she should have been killed. But since she turned at the last possible second the attack wasn't fatal. She was simply knocked unconscious during the events that followed. Once the l'Cie escaped the Palamecia, the ship was going to crash because it had no crew to fly it nor was autopilot engaged. While still unconscious, a Gate opened and transported her to another time. It wasn't that far into the future, just when Cocoon was crystallized. She was found with the survivors and given medical treatment. After coming to and hearing what all had happened, Jihl was not happy at all. Especially since the l'Cie she had tried to destroy were the ones to actually save them all.
Now with PSICOM no longer the main military she had to join the Guardian Corps. She was able to keep her rank of Lieutenant Colonel, but for a while she'd be under surveillance. It seemed like those who were former PSICOM would not be trusted so easily, but Nabaat knew how to play the game. She did everything she had to in order to gain their trust, or at least enough of it to get out from under their watchful eye all hours of her work. During her first few weeks she had found out that Lightning, the leader of the l'Cie group she once hunted, had gone missing. She felt some satisfaction in that knowing that she wouldn't have the ex Sargent watching her.
Everything seemed to be going great in the three years that followed the fall of Cocoon. She was regaining the power and authority she had when she was in PSICOM in the reformed Guardian Corps on Gran Pulse, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. That is until the Farron sisters returned. Lightning hadn't changed at all in the three years she was gone, and Jihl noted it looked like she didn't age a day when she saw the former l'Cie. Farron was allowed back in the GC and took up her rank of Sargent, and was rumored for a promotion. Even if Nabaat was less than thrilled, she could do nothing to stop it. But before this had happened, something completely unexpected happened. It seemed like the whole of Gran Pulse was swallowed in blinding light. But as soon as the light came, it was replaced with blackness.
Having a cast of déjŕ vu, Jihl woke up with a bit of a groan. When her head cleared and the soreness left her, she had a good look around. She wasn't alone, and she noticed that everyone else was just as confused as she was. She could see some creatures further off, some she recognized from Pulse and others she had no idea. Right away people started grouping up with others they knew, and before long the groups mingled to find out what happened. The only logical explanation would have been something happened to fuse worlds, worlds that had no idea of the others existence. This interested the Lieutenant Colonel greatly, but before she could even try to research into it business had to be dealt with.
She soon became apart of a group of people that seemed to have the most authority, some with other high ranking officers from a military, but as well as some people from something called the "Elite Four" form some region she had never heard of. But Nabaat didn't think of it further, knowing that more important things had to be done. This group became the Council, and working with everyone who could work cities and towns were built. It was easy with most of the technologies that seemed to have been brought with them, as well as with some of the creatures that people could control. It wasn't long after this that the crystal caverns were discovered, and new tech was invented with this new power source. It seemed like a second civilization was made in these caverns where most of the jobs dealt with the harvesting of the new material.
Jihl became one of the heads in research, so she had her team study these crystals. Perhaps they could be used to reverse this fusing of worlds, or at least be a key element in it. But with months of failed experiments, she was so frustrated that she was about to quit. Which was something she rarely did. However, that is before the energy fluxes. Deep within the caverns there was something that caused surges in the energy provided by the crystals. Nabaat led a team into the caverns, not caring what rules she broke or how she treated the people in the caverns or on her own team, and went for answers. The first expedition didn't reveal much, but that there were several places that caused these fluxes. Now with a new goal, Jihl became determined to find the source and use it in order to try and reverse the fusing of worlds so she could go back to the life she was more comfortable with.
Pokémon: Dysley (♂) | Eden (♀) Link: none Other: n/a
Name: Jovi Age: 13 (assuming she was about 10 in XD) Gender: Female Appearance: A little older than the last time many saw her, Jovi has since grown out of her white dress and double-buns. Now, she can often be seen running around wearing a long-sleeved, white scoop-neck shirt, whose neckline and the ends of her large bell sleeves are edged with blue ribbon. Along with her shirt, Jovi wears a pair of faded shorts that go to a little over her mid-thigh and white boots similar to the blue boots she wore when she was younger, in the aspect that they cover her legs entirely and end somewhere under her shorts. Her bright blue hair, which is the exact same color as her large blue eyes, falls straight down to her shoulders, and she has since traded in her buns for a pair of miniature ponytails, though she is rarely without a cheerful smile on her face and at least a faint blush on her cheeks. She carries her pokeballs and things a smaller than standard backpack that’s only a few shades darker than her hair and covered in her own handwriting in black and silver marker. Personality: While Jovi can prove to be annoying at times, she is a lot better than she was when she was younger. A very friendly and outgoing girl, Jovi will talk to just about anyone who will listen to her and talk back about almost anything. You want help with anything? Ask Jovi and she will gladly assist, as these days she aspires to be a hero, just like her big brother, and takes pride in doing whatever she can to fulfill that goal. She’s the kind of person who will take the time to try to see the good in anyone and everyone, and it often earns her friends just as much as it can land her into trouble that she often does a good job of getting out of with the help of her Pokemon friends. That being said, she loves her Pokémon friends and taking the time to play with them once in a while as well as adventuring with them—something she now has a bit more freedom to do since she’s older and has the Pokémon to do so. Home World: Pokémon (Orre Region) History: Jovi grew up as the youngest of two children in a Pokemon research lab in Orre. While her older brother, Michael, was off doing his own thing and rarely took the time of day to play with her due to the gap in their ages and difference in genders, Jovi made her own friends and got into a lot of trouble as often as she could. The lack of many other children in the research facility led to her developing her many childish eccentricities, such as referring to herself in third person and treating her older brother as though he couldn't live without her. This also led the child to get out and discover her own way around and to things, such as the lab at Dr. Kaminko's house, where she spent much of her time playing among this that were probably quite dangerous, though she had her electric Pokemon, Plusle and Minun, to keep her safe from most things and seemed to enjoy making life harder for Kaminko's assistant, Chobin. Unfortunately, one day, after Michael went out to Kaminko's lab to bring her back home to the research facility, Jovi and her brother returned in time to see their family friend and research lab head, Professor Krane, kidnapped. Insisting they continue their work on the project they had been working on before Krane's kidnapping to purify shadow Pokemon, Jovi went with her brother to get a final machine part the scientists of the lab needed to complete the project, where she accidentally bumped into a shadow Pokemon-toting thug who threatened her, however a kind old man had one of his bodyguards protect her. It was then that Jovi realized that she wanted to be as strong and dependable as her brother, and decided she was going to devote her life to becoming a hero like her brother was when Michael defeated the leader of Cipher and brought back Shadow Lugia to be purified.
When the worlds combined, Jovi and everyone else at the lab was aware that there was and had been some kind of powerful disturbance going on for days, though it was concluded that it was most likely something between a few legendary Pokemon and would go away soon. Jovi had just stepped outside with Mini and Maxi to go train when a blinding light seemed to swallow the world and she eventually woke up in a strange new place, confused and surrounded by not only familiar people, but many people she didn't know as well. Slowly, Jovi and those she did know began talking to those around them they didn't know, only to find out that many of them had come from other worlds and didn't seem to know what had happened either. They shared information about Pokemon and the strange new beasts that had appeared, eventually deciding to create a new research lab in the area where they had been transported, which Jovi and her Pokemon helped build, and then took to teaching some of those from the other worlds about Pokemon and how to capture them, as well as how to become great friends with them while also learning about the many worlds the others came from. Dratini-Female-Maia Link: Darkrai Other:
Name: Cissnei Age: 24 Gender: Female Appearance:Cissnei is one of those women who seems like she's a workaholic or overly serious, considering the fact she used to be, and often is still seen wearing a full black suit and boots in spite of the fact she now lives in a smaller, more agricultural-based town. Standing in at 5' 10" or so and lean-bodied, Cissnei is definitely not small or weak, and carries herself with an air of dignity. Wavy and curly reddish-brown hair falls a little past her shoulders and her messy bangs often fall into her kind brown eyes, which seem to proclaim that Cissnei has seen her fair share of harsh things in her life. Night and Marten have also seemingly conspired to make a normal woman out of her yet, and she can sometimes be seen wearing simple t-shirts and jeans from time to time as well, typically when she's out working in their garden. Personality: Cissnei is one of those people who often seems intimidating with her often initially serious attitude, but in all truth, she's a fairly warm and kind person, which is a bit surprising when you learn about her past. Wary of anything related to governments or big businesses, she doesn't trust people quickly or easily, and is constantly scared of the idea of the people close to her getting hurt or dying, and though it isn't nearly as bad now as it used to be, threatening those close to her will result in her attempting to kill you, no questions asked. However, provided you get off on the right foot with her rather than the wrong one, Cissnei can become easy to think of like a sister. She's tomboyish and tough, often displaying a liking for sarcasm and teasing, but if you're down, she's not beyond trying to help make your day better. She's also unfortunately a bit socially awkward, though Night and Marten are trying to help her through it, along with her pokemon and those who live in the town with her. She has a particular dislike for red leather and reacts oddly to hearing the name "Zack" mentioned, not to mention there are a few she thinks of like family beyond Night and Marten though she may not talk about them very often. Home World: Final Fantasy (Officially appears in VII: Crisis Core) History: Warning, the following may contain spoilers from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, read at your own risk...
Another warning, a fair bit of this is guesswork and taking from some of "her" (Shiruken: Female) history from Before Crisis, which I haven't played, as well as slight editing to accomodate the OCs that follow.
Cissnei was pretty much raised by Shinra Electric Company as a whole. She was picked up out of an orphanage at a young age and trained to be the perfect tool for the company, built up to join a small and elite group within the company, known as the Turks. She her upbringing was mainly handled by the man she considers as her main father figure--Tseng. Early on, she was provided the false name Cissnei to go by and told to go by no other name; at this point, very few people aside from Tseng, company paperwork, and Cissnei herself know her real name, though she had been planning to share the secret with Zack Fair, a SOLDIER member who had become a close friend to her. She was taught just about everything she knows by someone somewhere in the company--filing paperwork properly from secretaries, how conduct business properly by some of Shinra's best businessmen, how to operate a handful of firearms from various Infantry experts, the list could go on for longer than one might imagine, but that's how it was done, and implanted in it was also the idea that everyone could be an enemy, which led to a bout of severe paranoia when she was younger that ended up getting worked out by her future teammates and those she took lessons from. Early on, she got lost navigating the building by herself at one point and stumbled into the Infantry's section of the building, where she met Marten, who scared her at first, not that she allowed her fear to show, before he kindly gave her directions to where she needed to go and then took her there when the directions seemed to be a bit too much for her. It was this act of kindness that led to her friendship with the older man, whom she then began to visit on a regular basis, thinking of him as a sort of "mother" figure since most of the women in her life acted far from motherly. It was his habit of patching her up after a particularly rough round of training and his love of braiding her hair that had Marten branded "Mother Hen" of the Infantry, not that he cared much--he enjoyed having a sort of adopted daughter to play with every so often. It was through Marten that Cissnei met Night and began considering him as a "brother" of sorts. A few years after her adoption into Shinra Electric, Cissnei was made a member of the Turks, and given the distinction of the youngest joining member, though her mental age was above that of even some of her coworkers. Specializing in the use of a single large shiruken probably wasn't the smartest move she made, but for most opponents it wasn't hard to defeat them with...well until they started using guns.
Cissnei met Zack Fair of SOLDIER during an attack on the company headquarters in Midgar by SOLDIER First Class turned rogue Genesis and his copies, which were assaulting the building, aided by company mechanized weapons that shouldn't have been able to be controlled. He attempted to come to her rescue after being cornered by three copies outside the building, but was stopped by her coworkers Reno and Rude, followed by Tseng, who kept him out of it long enough for her to dispatch the copies by herself before joining their conversation. Briefly interrupting to chat and tease Zack before running off to continue eliminating copies, Cissnei found herself in a rather sticky situation when she came to face a copy with a rather large gun, who managed to shoot her shiruken out of the air and embed it in the sidewalk, leaving her defenseless before Zack came to her rescue. However, before he could finish to copy off, it sprouted a single wing and attempted to fly away and Zack cut it down in the process. Seeing his conflicted expression while looking down at the copy, Cissnei offered up the fact that she had wanted wings as a kid herself and seemed to snap him out of his odd mindset in the conversation that followed. They became fairly good friends after this, seemingly to catch each other on coincidence time after time, and often stopping to chat when they did. That all changed, however, rather quickly when Zack, as well a whole group of Infantrymen and famous SOLDIER First Class Sephiroth went on a visit to Niebleheim. One day, she found herself e-mailing him out of boredom, the next she was standing in front of Tseng, being told he had been killed in a freak incident in Niebleheim that had left the town burnt to the ground. While the loss hurt, she convinced herself that the best thing she could do was forget and move on, something she managed to do with some success, and lived on for the next four years like nothing had happened.
Of course, that was when she was given the assignment to track down two "specimens" that had escaped from the lab in the Shinra mansion in Niebleheim. Upon tracking down the escapees to a beach not too far away, the Turk was greeted by what seemed to be a ghost from the past, as Zack had not died in Niebleheim after all. Upon learning Zack and another were her targets, inner conflict led her to attack the man who had once been her friend and then let him get away when he knocked her shiruken out of the way, only to track him down again and promptly call Tseng and tell him her targets had escaped with Zack standing in front of her and hand him the keys to the motorcycle she'd taken out to the location. They crossed paths again while she was in Zack's hometown, shortly after talking to his parents and telling them their son wasn't really dead. It was the last time she saw him, and she had no idea it was going to be that way, otherwise she might not have teased him so much about his parents (particularly about a certain answer to a certain question of theirs) and her last words to him wouldn't have been "Not my real name," tossed over her shoulder as she walked away. It was only days later that she was tasked with saving his life by finding Zack and the other fugitive (a Cloud Strife, if anyone is familiar with him? XD); a task that she ultimately failed, and it to say she was hurt again would be an understatement. No--Zack's death at the hands of the Shinra Infantry because she and her comrades could not find him in time devastated her. While she did a fairly decent job with attempting to cover up the scars it left her with and continued to work with the Turks, circumstances eventually ended with most of the Turks breaking apart from the team and going into hiding, and she was followed by Marten and Night, who were unwilling to let her go off without them; especially the way she was at that point. However, it was not very long afterwards that the worlds joined.
The last thing she remembers is stepping out her front door to the world being swallowed by white and thinking that it was some kind of new threat. When she woke up to her house gone, Night and Marten not too far from her, and surrounded by other strange people, Cissnei had no idea what to think. Eventually, after talking to those around them, Cissnei and the others discovered what had happened, and while some large cities had begun to form and there was a new military building up, Cissnei had no desire to return to the kind of life she had had previously and so she and her "family" stayed with those they had woken up with and developed a smaller, agricultural-based town where she and the others learned about the Pokemon of those from some of the other worlds and taught them about the monsters from their worlds. Unsure of how to live without fighting, the trio signed on to become part of the town's protectors--a fairly slow job, though a very much needed one at times, and Cissnei often spends her time now on the lookout for threats and most of her spare time is spent either training her Pokemon or learning how to be somewhat normal, often in lessons headed by Marten or Night. Gallade-Male-Alec Link: N/A Other: She's known for packing a pistol and a rather large shiruken called Rekka (In her hand here; also a decent full-body shot of her), which she often compares to looking like a bike tire.
*Walks in and slams half-finished SUs down* Actually, technically you could consider Jovi and Night done, but there will be histories added in later.
Name: Dominic Marten Age: 30 Gender: Male Appearance: (picture or at least one paragraph) Personality: Marten, for being such a large individual, acts like a mother hen to anyone and everyone who will let him. His job working in the Shinra Infantry has kept him from settling down and getting a wife, so he doesn’t have any children—the one thing Marten would love to have—and Marten tends to “adopt” anyone younger than him who stays around him long enough because of it. He’s a great friend to have, warm and kind, with endless patience and a knack for patching up wounds, as well as a secret talent for braiding hair. He has particularly taken to Cissnei and Night, as he has known Cissnei since the company took her in when she was younger and Night was assigned to his squad/section upon first entering the infantry, though he has an even larger soft spot for younger children. As a sort of “veteran” of the Shinra infantry, Marten has a rather keen set of eyes and ears, and would readily use them to put himself in front of harm’s way to save one of his “adopted children,” friends, or group members, should he work in a group. He isn’t a bad leader, though you will find that he won’t advocate himself for the job, opting suggest candidates instead, until he is left as the only option, and once made leader, will do anything to keep his group safe, even if it means aborting a mission because he would rather take a chewing-out than see members of his “family” get hurt. Riolu-Female-Diva (Her fur appears to be various shades of pink in color rather than blue and black) Link: N/A Other: Still carries his Infantry-issued submachine gun, and isn't afraid to use it if he has to.
Name: Night Westerly Age: 19 Gender: Male Appearance: Most people are surprised to find out that Night was a member of the Shinra Infantry—one of the best shots there, believe it or not—mainly because of his size. Night is small for his age, and always has been, really, leaving him at about 5’ 4” which often looks odd when he stands next to Marten. This is only worsened by the fact that he is incredibly scrawny—he looks as though he hasn’t been run through drills and exercises over and over again the past few years and people are often surprised to see he is stronger than he appears. Many tend to be under the impression that Night is younger than he is as well, with his cheerful gold-rimmed eyes and wild, often haphazardly spiked black hair and wild dusting of golden freckles on fair skin giving him even more of a childish appearance. He seems to have taken a liking to civilian clothing, though it closely resembles his old infantry uniform, wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves pushed back to his elbows as well as a pale blue scarf wrapped loosely around his neck. With this, he wears a plain pair of blue jeans tucked into brown boots, as well as brown leather gloves on his hands. While most guys his age wouldn’t be skittish about losing their shirts, however, Night won’t let anyone see under his due to being a little shy about a rather large scar that stretches diagonally across his torso, though it’s also the only scar he has that he worries about—and he’s got a good few. Personality: Night is one of those guys who just doesn’t slow down—not for anything at all. He is almost ever-cheerful, full of energy to burn, and looking for something to burn it on. He’s incredibly friendly and easy to talk to—provided his typical close proximity to Marten doesn’t scare everyone away. He has kind of adopted Marten’s family views and will look after anyone in his “family” to make sure they stay safe—particularly Cissnei and Marten, whom he views like an older sister and father. He is quite kind to the Pokémon he has taken in, and enjoys his new life in this new world very much, as he is no longer working for Shinra, where lies and half-truths were likely to get him and every other member of the Infantry killed. He’s not interested in impressing anyone in the slightest, however, as he is bashful about the large scar on his torso and rarely talks about his ability with guns anymore, as his experience in the Shinra Electric Company’s Infantry was not a wonderful one. I'll wait to accept all of these at once, so just let me know when you're done since you're already on the reserved list.
I wouldn't say so, unless you're trying to RP an FF character. Otherwise, I'd simply wiki what you don't know and doesn't really get explained as we go since there are so many FF worlds and different people nave played different ones.
Would you say that extensive knowledge of the FF world is necessary for this RP?
As Winter said, it shouldn't be necessary unless you are playing a Final Fantasy character. I personally don't know that much about it other than what happens in XIII and XIII-2 because I didn't play the other games. But anyway, because this is set in a "new world" knowing that much about the FF series isn't a must.
Personality: Kotone is quite kind and caring and goes out of her way to help pokemon in need. She can be a little too confident in her trainer abilities and tha might make her seem somewhat arrogant at times but she is quite sincere and isn't a sore loser, rather she comes to admire those she looses to and aspires to become like them in her own way. She likes to be spontanious and likes other people who are spontanious aswell. She absolutely adores her pokemon and at any chance she gets she will hug or groom them, well the ones she can groom anyway. She can be a little clumsy and quite ditzy at times. She does do some stupid things like try and give her Sandslash a bath, but she always seems to be able to make up for it. She is loud and sometimes hyper and will gladly talk to and help anyone, or even ask help from someone, she can be a little argumentative however if someone disagrees with something she does or says.
Home World: Pokemon (Johto)
History: Kotone had always aspired to become a trainer while growing up and at the age of tenshe became Professor Elm's assistant. This was a massive leap forward in her eyes, she got to be with many different types of pokemon, she got to learn about them and what they are, she even got to keep and train a few of her own pokemon. She was happy like this, glad she could have friends and glad she could work with pokemon, but as she got older she got bored of the job and wanted to travel to other places and become strong, so she did. She traveled to many other regions and caught many other pokemon and making many new friends, this was what she really wanted.
When she turned 14 she met a group of bad guys named Team Rocket, she helped the best she could to defeat them but they were evil and powerful and even though her and her pokemon team tried to stop them they continued to terrorise her region. She hated this, at that moment she made a pledge to herself to vanquish all evil in the world regardless and so she kept on fighting against Team Rocket. She lost both friends and pokemon during this fight but this only drove her forward, making her even more determined to vanquish the evil that had almost ruined her life. After Team Rocket disbanded for good she trained and trained and traveled and traveled untill she was sure she was strong enough, but even then she kept on finding people who could beat her. Evenso, she still keeps on fighting to hopefull become strong enough to protect everyone from the evil that plagues the earth.
When the clash of the two worlds happened Kotone was both confused and livid, thinking that it was some evil scheme created by another evil organisation, however when she learned of what had actually happened she became openly friendly towards people again and actually offered to help anyone who came to her, regardles of how shady they were. She adapted to the new enviroment and took in everything the pokegovornment was telling everyone. She grew excited about the prospect of new technology, however the thought of evil people or pokemon or any other beings using this new power source for evil was always in her mind, so she made sure to keep an eye out for anyone who seemed incredibly suspicious and/or evil.

Finished my Char, if anything is too short I can add more ^^
Other than the Dragonair link not showing the picture, everything looks good. I just got to ask if she's based off of the canon character Lyra. I only ask because I'm not completely sure and not familiar with their Japanese names.

Whenever I have a co-owner, I never accept my own characters. I let my co-owner(s) do that. That's just how I roll X3
Also, for anyone who may want to play Lightning and has read my OC's history, I will change it if you do not agree with Menora and Lightning being childhood friends. I have no problem doing that. Just thought I'd finally say that.
