Seem legit?

I received a Shiny Magmortar in a GTS trade,
The request was a lv 50 Koffing.

The Magmortar has mild nature, met at Route 1.

Lave Plume
Sunny Day
Flamethrower
Fire Blase

Attack 130
Defense 90
Sp. Attack 179
Sp. Defense 123
Speed 116

lv. 59 in a quick ball.

Do these numbers and places seem to add up? The route 1 part has me wondering, and the stats seem a tad high.

There a method of finding out if these are legit or not? I'm also afraid of GTS half the time because I'm a fraid I'm going to get a pokemon that's going to corrupt my save data or something. Is that possible?

Doesn't look like you can catch Magby or Magmar at Route 1 at all, so it looks like it's hacked, though I messed around with an IV checker and the stats look possible.

You can sometimes tell by having a Wi-Fi battle (with a friend or a random match up) and then trying to save and upload a battle video. But then again, if it got through the GTS, it might not be able to be picked up by Nintendo.

I don't think a Pokemon traded through the GTS could mess up your game. It does go through the official servers and everything. I don't usually trust anything I get from the GTS either, but people do get good deals sometimes so it's hard to know.

In this case the Route 1 thing is a dead giveaway. =)

Thanks Sarah! I figured it was too good to be true when all it asked for was a lv. 50 Koffing. I got it to look into the info and saw the shotty info on it, so I'll probably be releasing it because I have no use for a n-legit pkmn on my Black 2. lol, shiny or not.
