Migrating Question

Question from a member.
" I have a pokemon platinum version, of which I've beaten, and a pokemon fire red version. I want to migrate from fire red to my platinum but the migrate pokemon button will not come up! Could you please help me figure this out! I really want my Charizard!!"

After doing a bit of Googling, the Gameboy slot might be broken.
Put the games in a friend's DS, and try there.
If that doesn't work, then I don't know.

But my gameboy slot isn't broken, I can play fire red on my DS still.

Have you been messing around with the time on your DS?

Yea once but I reset it. Why? Would that effect it?

Yeah, when you change the clock in the DS, it messes up the migrating options.
I wasn't able to migrate my Pokemon from Emerald to Diamond because of this.
I waited and the problem eventually fixed itself.
How long has this been going on for you?

I only got fire red 3 days ago and I did the time thing yesterday. So I can't migrate for say a week or two? Or months.

No, it'll be more like a few days.
I guess just wait until Monday or Tuesday, then try again.

Yes ma'am, thank you very much. I bought diamond yesterday cause I thought it was just the platinum version. No biggie though, now I have diamond too! :D

Hmm, well i checked this morning and the migrate button still has not shown up :/ I might just have to migrate straight to black instead.

You can't migrate from FR/LG/R/S/E to Black/White. You HAVE to migrate to D/P/Pt/HG/SS with the Pal Park then you can transfer them from D/P/Pt/HG/SS to Black/White through the PokeTransfer. You can't skip the D/P/Pt/HG/SS step. :P

But I can't migrate to platinum it won't let me

You definitely sure you've been to the Pal Park and have the National Pokedex (seen all of the Sinnoh Pokemon)?
