Default Real Life Pokemon Leagues?

So my friends and I are forming a Pokemon League at our college. I was curious if anybody else did something like this and if so, what advice can you offer us? Pleases and thanks!

While I've never done it before, it would be really cool if you created actual badges to give to trainers who defeat your gym leaders. Probably something simple that can be pinned onto clothes.

Would really add a touch of authenticity.

That would be AMAZING. Badges are a definite yes! How many people do you have, because you need at least 12, plus a champion.

I assume you would first need to have volunteer for the gym leaders and then the strongest of them would battle it out to figure out who gets to be the elite four and what order they go in. And then wait for a champion to com along a beat them all. Or you could appoint a pre champion.

And then you would need to decide it gym leaders can also train another team to take the league on with.

There's already 4 of us. Our Champion had a league last year but it fell apart really fast. After we had fought a ton of times, and our battles were epic tug-of-wars, he asked me if I wanted to help him reinstate the league. I'm in charge of making trainer cards and most of the "behind the scenes" work. He picks potential league members and we test them in battle. He made me the 4th member of the elite 4 as a way of saying thanks for the help, and everyone's agreed to let him remain champion.

We've actually discussed printing custom badges on cardstock and attaching a pin to them to give out.

We have 3 other people confirmed for the league, and 2 others to "investigate" a bit more.

Probably a good idea to try and contact as many Pokemon trainers in the area that you can find. Facebook is probably the easiest way, but I'm sure you can also post up paper notices.

And if there are Pokemon-related clubs, you can always ask if you can email their members. I imagine that there are quite a few Pokemon fans in an Anime Club or a Game Club.

I think that would be really awesome, so long as it does not develop into something like a Smogon fueled tournament in which there is one way to play. Smogon has its place, but I don't believe it would be here.

And also, badges would be amazing. More like pins, perhaps. Maybe something along the lines of The World Ends with You? Although that could be the fanboy in me talking. :3

I think they still do the TCG league, but it's less publicized now.
