Default Challenger [Velocity] vs. Shocking! Gym Leader [Dino]

Quote:
Gym Title:
Shocking!
Description of Gym Theme:
Pokemon that can learn electric moves through level-up or breeding that are not of the electric type.
6 Pokémon planned for Gym Theme and Wildcards:

Ariados – Houndoom – Octillery – Gliscor – Exploud - Metagross Venomoth -Eelektross
*Red means wildcards
--BATTLE RULES--
Single/Double/Triple?
Single
How many Pokémon per side?
4
Are there Damage Caps or other Restrictions?
40 Damage Cap, No OHKO moves
What is the Gym Arena?
The gym is a large room with its floor covered in black tiles that are about 2 square feet. The walls and ceiling are covered with tiles the same size as the floor's, but are grey, and they let off a dull light like a computer screen. The gym leader is the purple team and the challenger is the green team. Every time a pokemon steps on a tile, it glows its teams color until it leaves the space when it turn back to black. But if a pokemon from the opposite team steps on that tile, it can cause something to happen to that pokemon. The room also is not stabilized. By some odd magnetization the cube-room floats freely inside of the building it is contained. So that means, if a pokemon slammed against the left side, or if too much weight is put on the left side, the whole room will start to tip to the left; the room could potentially roll all the way over. In this same way the room could roll or even flip however it wanted, if a trainer so happened to want their pokemon to flip the room.

Command: Sometime along the lines of this. It has to make sense though. A Jumpluff won't be flipping the room using its weight.
A pokemon must be 50 lbs. heavier than its opponent in order to flip the stadium. This can be overridden in any way if some creativity, which is logical (like a certain attack), is used.
Energy for a room flip is chosen by the ref.
Aggron, jump up into the air, then land hard to try and flip the arena upside down to mess up his aim, then attack with earthquake.
Room Flip ~ Earthquake

Math:
Spoiler:
At the end of every round a number is rolled for the pokemon on both sides.
Rounds 1-7: 20% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.
Rounds 8-12: 35% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.
Rounds 13+ : 50% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.

If they do step on a tile roll out of 100 to find.
1-30: The pokemon suffers from the effects of fog for the next round.
31-70: The pokemon receives poison damage for this round only. (-3 HP)
71-85: The pokemon is given an electric shock. (Electric, 40 BP, Special | Acts like a Thundershock from a pokemon with 3 SpAtk except with no Criticals, no Paralysis, and it always hits.)
86-95: Flash is used at the beginning of the next round. (effects both pokemon)
95-100: The pokemon is healed by 10% Health.

What are, if any, the requirements to challenge your Gym?
Nope
The Leader will now select his Pokemon.
The challenger will then select her first Pokemon and her action commands.
The Leader will then select his action commands.

Heh. Heh heh.
Heh.
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH.

[Chell] Charizard (F)
Ability: Blaze
Sig Move: None

Use Substitute @1%, to prevent any nasty stupid status moves and because Velocity = troll, then use Heat Wave. If he protects, replace Heat Wave with Sunny Day. If he D-Teams, use Flame Burst and use that splash damage to try and hit all the clones.

Sub @1% ~ Heat Wave/Sunny Day/Flame Burst

Just the totals on Heat Wave... It makes me happy. c:

Ehhhh...
Let's see.

Quiver Dance ~ Tailwind

Start off with Quiver Dance. Then use tailwind to create a whirlwind around yourself to blow the Heat Wave away.

Round 1

Challenger Velocity

[Chell] Charizard (F)
HP: 100
Energy: 100
Ability: Blaze
Status:

Leader Dino

[Zana] Venomoth (F)
HP: 100
Energy: 100
Ability: Tinted Lens
Status:

Charizard began to beat its chest and roar loudly, raring to go and destroy this puny... bug. Rather than going on the predictable offensive though, Charizard stood still, but appeared to be concentrated. As if a soul was leaving Charizard, another Charizard, but translucent and ghastly in appearance, appeared to step out of the existing Charizard. (what the hell.) The second Charizard stood in front of the real one, also looked primed to fight. As it touched the ground, the title beneath it did not light up.

Venomoth didn't even seem to notice Charizard's Substitute, as it was focusing on clearly, more important things. Venomoth began to dance around in circles, flapping its wings as it did so. As it began to fly faster and faster, its wings began to glow and release small white sparkles from the tips of the wings. The display was rather beautiful, as the shimmering Venomoth began to slow down, looked more primed for battle than ever.

Charizard, now ready for the offensive, flapped both its huge wings, creating a sizeable gust of wind. It repeated this action, creating quite the powerful blowing force. Venomoth's tiny frame struggled to resist the wind, but began to do so, by flapping its own wings, using its abilities to power up its gust as well. Soon, the arena was a mini-tornado, as both combantants struggled to outflap the other. Charizard finally decided to end it, spitting flames from its mouth into its gale force. The wind dispersed and carried the fire, and while Venomoth's tailwind was able to buffer some of the damage, the flames still struck the Bug-type, causing it to lose concentration as it endured the pain.

Round Over

Challenger Velocity

[Chell] Charizard (F)
HP: 99
Energy: 93
Ability: Blaze
Status: Substitute @ 1 HP

Leader Dino

[Zana] Venomoth (F)
HP: 91
Energy: 90
Ability: Tinted Lens
Status: +1 ATK, +1 SPATK, +2 SPD (Quiver Dance, Tailwind [in three rounds, -1 SPD])

Arena Notes:
Tiles
Charizard is standing on a tile that is now glowing green.

Referee Notes:
Charizard's Substitute:
Charizard: -1 Energy, -1 HP, Substitute created

Venomoth's Quiver Dance:
Venomoth: -6 Energy, +1 ATK, +1 SPD, +1 SPATK

Charizard's Heat Wave:
Charizard: -6 Energy
Venomoth: -9 HP
Effect: Rolled from 1 to 10. Result was 9.

Venomoth's Tailwind:
Venomoth: -4 Energy, Party has +1 SPD for the next three rounds
Effect: Rolled from 1 to 9. Result was 3.
Spoiler:
I created a 3x3 matrix. The left side represented the speed boosts, with options +1, +2, and +3. The top side repsented the number of turns Tailwind could stay in effect, with options 1, 2, and 3. Heat Wave was not critical, so the maximum amount of damage it could have dealt was 25. I rollled for a square in the aforementioned matrix and rolled 3, which the square repsenting +1 SPD lasting for 3 rounds. These two values multiplied by each other is 3, where is 9 is the maximum product. If 9 had been determined as a product, Tailwind would have worked normally, with no damage reduction, dealing 9/9ths of the damage. However, because our product was 3, Heat Wave only dealt 3/9ths of the damage which is 9 damage.

If he tries a fire move, block it with Silver Wind. If he tries a super-effective move, try to dodge it. Other wise. Quiver Dance.

I'm on it. While you guys wait, how did you feel about how I handled Heat Wave/Tailwind?

Round 2

Challenger Velocity

[Chell] Charizard (F)
HP: 99
Energy: 93
Ability: Blaze
Status: Substitute @ 1 HP

Leader Dino

[Zana] Venomoth (F)
HP: 91
Energy: 90
Ability: Tinted Lens
Status: +1 ATK, +1 SPATK, +2 SPD (Quiver Dance, Tailwind [in three rounds, -1 SPD])

Charizard wasted no time in continuing the bout between herself and Venomoth. She flapped her wings again, this time, lifting off into the air. As she hovered above the ground, poising to strike, Venomoth began to flutter quickly, anticipating an incoming strike. Without warning, Charizard flew faster and began to dash around the arena, picking up speed as it moved. Venomoth glanced around furiously, trying to keep its two eyes on the Fire-type. As Charizard continued to pick up speed, white streaks of energy began to surround it, signifying that it was picking up both speed and power. Soon as the streaks appeared, they disappeared, as Charizard herself became an orange blur. The blur began to hurtle towards Venomoth, but the speedy bug quickly flew upwards, as her opponent flew under her. She was relieved for a moment, but suddenly shocked; the Fire-type pulled a sharp loop in the air, and was now flying backwards and upside down. The white streaks appeared once again, signifying that the power increased yet again. Venomoth, was too stunned to act, and was slammed by the Flying-type assault. She flew and staggered backwards, completely taken aback by the clever strike. Charizard slowed down and looked rather proud, ready to continue dishing out damage.

Round Over

Challenger Velocity

[Chell] Charizard (F)
HP: 99
Energy: 85
Ability: Blaze
Status: Substitute @ 1 HP

Leader Dino

[Zana] Venomoth (F)
HP: 77
Energy: 87
Ability: Tinted Lens
Status: +1 ATK, +1 SPATK, +2 SPD (Quiver Dance, Tailwind [in three rounds, -1 SPD])

Arena Notes:
Tiles
The tile Charizard was on is glowing green. Both battlers are in the air.

Referee Notes:
Charizard's Aerial Ace:
Charizard: -4 Energy
Venomoth: Missed!

Venomoth's Dodge:
Venomoth: -3 Energy

Charizard's Aerial Ace:
Charizard: -4 Energy
Venomoth: -14 HP

Venomoth's Dodge:
Venomoth: Failed!

Spoiler:
[17:40] paperfairy: Could you... dodge an Aerial Ace?
[17:40] paperfairy: It's supposed to hit regardless of ACC but if you saw it coming....
[17:41] LordKhajmer: Hm...
[17:41] LordKhajmer: Aerial Ace is kind of bizarre in the first place
[17:41] LordKhajmer: The only was a move that hits regardless of acc could work
[17:42] LordKhajmer: Is if it has built in homing
[17:42] LordKhajmer: Because otherwise something like sand attack makes any kind of speed benefit worthless
[17:42] paperfairy: i are confused
[17:42] LordKhajmer: Okay, the only two ways that "hits regardless of acc" could work
[17:42] LordKhajmer: Would be if it were either too fast to dodge
[17:42] paperfairy: oh
[17:42] LordKhajmer: Or homed in on the target
[17:43] LordKhajmer: But the first one is moot
[17:43] LordKhajmer: Because things like sand attack or fog render that pointless
[17:43] paperfairy: right
[17:43] LordKhajmer: In other words, it accounts for evasion, but not accuracy
[17:43] LordKhajmer: Homing accounts for both
[17:43] paperfairy: judging from bulbapedia
[17:44] paperfairy: it's a combination
[17:44] paperfairy: of both
[17:44] paperfairy: "The user confounds the foe with speed, then slashes. The attack lands without fail."
[17:44] paperfairy: so its really fast, but all the anime used involve disappearing and reappearing near the foe
[17:44] paperfairy: implying homing
[17:45] paperfairy: hmm, this is tough
[17:45] paperfairy: I'd say
[17:46] paperfairy: "okay, can't be dodged"
[17:46] paperfairy: but Venomoth is literally 1.8x faster than Charizard
[17:46] paperfairy: I'll just say that one of them was dodged, but not the second one

If Venomoth had Compoundeyes, I would have had both work... just a heads up.

This battle has made me think harder than any other battle before.

Mnehhhhh

Prevented the Quiver Dances though. :/

All right, let's use two Rock Tombs to bring this bug down to speed. If ever he protects, switch to Swords Dance. If he Double Teams, switch to Rock Slide and, if you have another action, switch to the other conditionals unless Rock Slide fails. If he uses any spore-like status-inflicting move, switch to Gust to disperse it.
