Ataro had control for almost all of the battle, but when it got to Metagross vs Metagross he decided to use Magnet Rise then switch to Chandelure, a bad idea since on the switch Meta used Agility and next turn got a flinch with Zen Headbutt. Ataro could have won if he used Chandelure vs Swampert rather than Metagross vs Swampert, and if Mubz's Meta smacked at the end.
