The Spam Bots

I went and looked at the registration form to see how it handles adbots. Well ... needless to say, having someone just type in a word won't help deter them, they know how to read unless it's a capcha.

Can't you incorporate a capcha instead of having new members type in a word? They're much more effective.

Or you could do what another forum I go to (but I don't browse as frequently) does, and have this:

Basically it doesn't allow you to post unless you put in a logical word or sentence in the box, and I think it's available while registering. I don't remember. xD

Yeah, I agree. Anything to make it harder for them to come here. It's gotten really out of hand lately.

Yeah, it's a good point about this. Or even have a pokemon-related question, like, "how many pokemon can eevee evolve into?" or something, which I'm sure most people (who AREN'T spam bots) will know. Because the number of spam bots IS rather ridiculous, and there's been a boom of them recently. It's really annoying.

But I think the admin needs to do something about it, and he's rarely on...

I'm just posting to say I also support the notion. It would be nice to reduce the amount of bots, and I'm sure none of us would miss them XD

I agree; adding a capcha would probably decrease the number of SPAM bots that slip in. I'm just posting this so that no one can say 'well, only a few people posted, so only s few people like the idea of the whole forum.' ;) So yeah. <3

It's not that no one listens. It's just that its something Ryan has to approve and implement himself, so there's nothing we can really do about it right now. Believe me, I'd like to see something done too and its already been discussed by the staff.

Oh man. :( That really sucks. He's not gonna be on again for a long time either.
