Post Pokemon Suggestion Thread

Welcome to the Official Pokemon Suggestion Thread. This thread’s sole purpose is to create a list of pokemon for our new trade shop which is coming soon. If you have pokemon sets in mind please take the time to help us out. I’d like you to take a minute and look over the Pokemon strategy that Skippy supplied to us. The example below shows the move set, EV spread, nature, and held item. These are all basic things you will need to know about a pokemon before adding it to your team. In addition to the set Skippy wrote a little a bit about it and how it works.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge/Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Ability: Liquid Ooze
IVs: 252 SpAtk/252 HP/4 Def (changed from the original 252 SpAtk/252 SpDef/4 HP)
Moveset:
-Acid Spray
-Giga Drain
-Scald/Surf
-Hidden Power Fire/Ice Beam

If the opponent dosen't have a lead Poke that can either Earthquake, or ThunderPunch Tentacruel, you start out with the upper hand in the battle, no matter what else they might do. Acid Spray to immediately drop SpDef by 2 stages, the KO with move of choice. Giga Drain is your second main atacking option here, to gain back any lost HP. Scald to try and burn, or Surf for more power, both for a second STAB move. HP Fire for steel types, and Ice Beam for Dragon types, deoending on what your team is weaker against. Most people will also try and Taunt this lead, thinking it is running Toxic Spikes, so more often than not, you will get a free shot in.

That was an example of what we are looking for. Any pokemon you suggest should follow the basic outline below
-Image
-Name
-Nature
-Ability
-Item
-Ev Spread
-Iv Spread (trick room teams, certain hidden power, etc)
-Move 1
-Move 2
-Move 3
-Move 4

Alright Ill update this more a little later.

-Ferrothorn [Nattorei]

Spoiler:

-Impish/Careful/Sassy
-Iron Thorns
-Leftovers
-252 Hp/252 Defense/ 4 Sp def or 252 Hp/4 Defense/ 252 Sp def respectively
-31/31/31/x/31/31 or 31/31/31/x/31/0 for Sassy

Impish/Careful sets
-Leech Seed/Thunder Wave
-Spikes/Stealth Rock
-Power Whip
-Gyro Ball/Toxic/Anything really

Sassy
-Curse
-Leech Seed
-Power Whip
-Gyro Ball

Good poke all around. Great defensive stats for most needs on either side of the spectrum so perfectly fit for Careful or Impish. Sassy for a more offensive Curse set. Good poke and useful for any team.

-Conkeldurr D: (Rupuushin)
Spoiler:

-Adamant/Careful
-Guts
-Leftovers
-252 HP/ 252 attack/ 4 sp def or 252 HP/4 atk/252 sp defense (you see where I'm going with these)
-31/31/31/x/31/31
-Bulk up
-Mach Punch
-Drain Punch
-Stone Edge

Not much to say, bulky poke with great priority (and good attack type priority), bulk up, and impossible to burn. Bulk up is really able to be played defensively if you feel like setting up multiple bulk ups or just setting up one and doing some damage. Really the only let down is alot of pokes you have to hope hitting with Mach punch or tanking with drain punch.

(Could not resist the top hat)
-Reuniclus (Rankarusu)

Spoiler:

-Bold/Modest
-Magic Guard
-Leftovers (why do all these pokes have leftovers)
- 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 4 Sp def or 252 HP/252 Sp atk/ 252 def
-31/x/31/31/31/31
-Calm Mind
-Recover
-Psyco Shock/ Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast

Second Verse same as the first I suppose. Powerful Bulky poke that can easily set up and become hard to take down. Nice that it also gets Magic Guard so not even bad weather can keep you down. Psyco Shock for Stab and being harder to wall and stab, or Shadow Ball for better coverage along Focus Blast. Unfortunate you don't have more moves. If you really don't like Calm Mind you can switch off of Calm mind and throw a nice pair of Choice Specs on the modest version for a surprise and run Focus Blast/Psycho Shock/Shadow Ball/[Trick/grass knot/ HP (Fire/Ice)]

-Landlos [Boss Moogle]

Spoiler:

-Jolly
-Sand Force
-Choice [Band/Scarf]/Life Orb
-252 Attack/252 Speed/4 HP
-31/31/31/x/31/31
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-U-Turn/Brick Break
-Brick Break/ Swords Dance

Only complain is his move power is a little small, but Sand Force Earthquake helps ease the pain. Nice simple straight forward offensive set. Obviously don't run Swords Dance with a choice item, but if you rather have life orb SD is a good route. You can run U-turn on SD if you really want to, but its mainly because Brick Break isn't going to do much and U-turn [SD U-turn at least has the potential to do some damage too] gives you perfect coverage. Granted the idea of a SD STAB EQ in the Sand really doesn't give you much of a reason to use Brick Break unless they have a balloned T-Tar.

-Excadrill [Doryuzuu]

Spoiler:

-Jolly
-Sand Rush
-Life Orb
-252 atk/252 speed/ 4 HP
-31/31/31/x/31/31
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-X-Scissor/Shadow Claw/Return / Rapid Spin
-Swords Dance

or

Nature:Jolly/ Adamant
Ability:Sand Rush
Item: Choice Band
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moves:
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Return
X-Scissor

I'm conviced the only reason Excadrill doesn't have stone edge is so that he wouldn't be completely and utterly broken. Really its job is to clean anyway so rock slide should be alright to hit something if you really need it. X-scissor for the coverage as mentioned before or Shadow Claw for that lucky crit [Since once again we're pretty much looking at you EQ]. But hey, get this little bugger in the sand and weaken your opponents team up abit and enough said.

Virizion
Spoiler:

Nature: Timid / Modest
Ability: Justified
Item: Life Orb / Lum Berry
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 31/x/31/31/31/31
Grass Knot
Focus Blast
Hidden Power Rock
Protect

Or

Nature: Jolly
Ability: Justified
Item: Lum Berry / Fight Gem
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moves:
Close Combat
Leaf Blade
Light Screen
Protect / Safeguard

Virizion is a great edition to any of teams. It has base 129 spdef, base 108 speed and solid 90s for both attack stats. These sets which were recommended to me show off its wide move pool and team support.

You could also maybe put an additional comments section on each Poke, for the seasoned battlers. If you think this is a good ideal, add this to my Tentacruel, please......

Quote:
Also, I have giving concideration to Icy Wind over Ice Beam (but with HP Fire still as the main attack in slot 4), but that might turn this into too much of a gimmick, but i have noticed more times than not, versus serious battlers, after the Acid Spray stat drop, they enjoy bringing in a faster-than-Tentacruel-is Dragon. With team viewer though, that does make the prediction of this slightly easier. If you can tag the Genie trio, Haxorus, Latios, Latias, Salamence, or Garchomp on the switch with Icy Wind, you can outspeed if they aren't running Scarf, for a very surprising 2HKO. If Gyarados or Zapdos switch into Stealth Rock, and you get the Icy Wind Speed stat drop, they can be beatten, as well. That would leave you really weak versus Steel types though.

Galvantula
Nature: Timid (+Spd., -Atk.)
Ability: Unnerve (Opponent can't use Berries)
Item: Occa Berry
EV: Center around Sp. Atk. and Spd.
Moves:
ElectroWeb (55/95/15, Drops enemy Spd. 1 stage)
Agility (-/-/30, Raises Spd. by 2 stages)
Electro Ball (-/100/10, Damage based on Spd. comparison)
Energy Ball (80/100/10, 10% chance of dropping enemy Sp. Def. by 1 stage)

Primary Tactic
This setup is specifically for fully utilizing the effect of Electro Ball (which does damage based on how much faster Galvantula is than the opponent). It wil start off with either ElectroWeb (if it needs to go ahead and deal some damage) or Agility (if it's up against a more defensive opponent). After using these moves a few times (mostly Agility, since it actually affects Galvantula's Spd.), you can start hammering away with Electro Ball.

Defensive Maneuvers
Energy Ball (TM53) as the last move gives it some cover in case it comes up against a Ground-type (which Electro Ball won't hit) or a Rock-type (which it is weak to). Being EV'd toward Special Attack will help this move get some power since it won't receive STAB. The Occa Berry will protect it from a Fire-type hit once, but then it's susceptible to Fire from there on. Having the Berry and Energy Ball help get around its two elemental weaknesses (Fire and Rock).

Weaknesses
If the opponent has a really fast Pokemon (especially a Fire-type), this may lose some of its usefulness. Also, Galvantula has relatively weak defenses, so it needs to get in and set up quickly before it gets taken out (I'm currently in the works on both Single and Multi Battle solutions to this).

Sorry this has been so wordy, but I figured I needed to say what its purpose was. Also, I'm not good with EV and IV stuff, so if someone wants to help with that, I'm all ears.

Zoroark Seeker of Darkness@life orb
timid
252special attack 252 speed 6hp
Nasty plot
dark pulse/night daze
flame thrower
focus blast

Hail the bread and butter zoroark set, he's got nice speed, okay typing a decent special movepool good offensive stats but is rather frail with 60 defences. So why use him over azelf who is faster and do the same set? Simple illusion, illusion transforms zoroark into the last pokemon in your party and copies everything about their appreance, pokeball shinyness and even gender and nickname! Why is this good? Simple your opponent is fooled into thinking your something your not, that renculous hitting your conkredurr with psychic? fear not it's zoroak and it just set up a nasty plot! It's crazy really, you can play real mind games with zoroark and really screw with your oponent, in the panic in confusion of why is that starmie using nastyplot you shall find an easy kill nearly every game and your opponet rage quitting or being bewilderd for the rest of the match. Saddly poor zoroark has some real draw backs, it's pittiful defences mean that it's not going to be switching in and even if it could, it would break his disguise. speaking of which, zoroark relises on illusion to be effective, as mentioned it's broken when zoroark is hit and to a smart opponent it's easy to spot and a lot of the time he is a one trick poney once the cats out of the bag thats pretty much it for the dark fox. but fear not zoroark has the Z factor, not only is illusion an awsome ability but it means he is one of the most entertining pokemon to use.
So if your wanting a pokemon to play mind games with your opponent or somethign thats effective yet wickedly fun to use rember zoroark for your team.

Garchomp@lifeorb/haban berry/yanche berry
jolly/addament
252attack 252speed 6hp
outrage
fire fang
swords dance
earthquake

hello old fiend it's been a while, yep thats right chomp is back in ou and ready to take on the role of Jaws 5 the shark strikes back. The old swords dance set is pretty much the same as it was before, outrage as powerful dragon type move thatd rills holes in teams, earthquake as a reible stab move that hits hard, fire fang to deal with thoese peasky steel types and now more importantly fernothorn and of course swords dance to boost your attack to insane levels . your item of preference is down to you, haban to protect from dragon moves, yanche from cie and life orb for a bit of a kick. Saddly for chomp this new metagame wasn't the pushover that the 4th gen was, it's a dark new world for garchomp, new dragons faster harder hitting monsters and a thorn in it's side, hell even cloyster has become a huge threat to it, with it's hard hitting ice attcks even yache chomp will not surrvie, while it can hardly touch the bulky oyster! Despite all this, chomp is still chomp, fantastic typing great stats and a froce to be reconded with and deserving of a place on any offensive or bulky offfesnive team.

so this is a place to suggest single pokemon sets for breeders? I like it,

i struggled to find a purpose for this pokemon since it's terribly outclassed by almost everything else , but it does a pretty good job to set up Trick Room, something that the Blissey line can't do, wish support, which porygon-2 can't do and the regeneration ability which works perfectly for a bulky Trick Room setter...erm upper

Trick Room
Audino@Leftovers
Sassy/Relaxed
Regenerator
252HP/252Sp Def (Sassy) -or-252HP/252 Def (Relaxed) the final 4 can go almost in either attack, Sp Att, or the other def
IVs: Speed 0
Trick Room
Wish
Encore/Toxic/Yawn
Attacking move of choice

To Be Honest I don't know why I was so intent on making a set for audino, maybe i felt bad...but it's pretty effective to set up TR

Nature, EV Spread and Ability:

With a 103/68/68 base defensive stats it can be decently bulky, and the bulk can be spread to either defensive stat giving it a bit of defensive versatility

Regenerator is another reason to give audino a thought, most bulky trick roomers are there to take a hit set up Trick Room and get out of the way for sweepers, and they need a reliable recovery move to be able to continue to do so, Audino has an automatic 1/3rd HP restored on the switch which cuts down the moves used up during TR

Moveset:
Trick Room is obligatory, or else it doesn't set up Trick Room...
Wish Support healing for sweepers and other trick roomers
Encore is a good move to force a switch or lock a pokemon to a certain move allowing time to set up or switch into a favorable pokemon
Toxic basically there to cripple walls
Yawn Force Switches ETC.

The last slot is mostly so you're not taunt bait, basically any attacking move that you want based on need, flamethrower, thunderbolt, surf and icebeam are probably the best options though you can add another support move if you want

EDIT:Takeru's Giant fiendish picture of Chomp ruined my formatting...lol

Thanks Lost Soul! This thread is open for suggestions of pokemon that will be breed in our new PE2K trade shop which everyone will have access too ! We made this so everyone could add a pokemon to the shop. What better way of getting great unique ideas then asking competitive battlers. I will be working on a the standard list of pokemon for the shop but i really would like to see some great original sets that i wouldnt think of normally.
