how do Trainers in the games and anime know which Pokemon is in which ball?
I just naturally assumed it was the same system that Adventures used.

I was actually surprised when Battles are really dynamic in the manga, often incorporating out-of-the-box strategies that make even the less useful in competitive battling seem useful. I mean, I will never have seen Mantine being useful in competitive battling, because of the 20 Remoraids thing. Also, the manga also shows how much useful and devastating Hyper Beam and the other attack variants are, especially the starter's elemental Hyper Beams. "Aiming for the horn" is an interesting case, because there's a new item in Generation 5 called the Bull's Eye, which bypasses natural immunities. I am not sure...I think I see that Pikachu shocked Brock's Onix before.

The intensity of villainy in the manga surprised me. I never thought that Team Aqua and Team Magma could be that evil, and the Orbs intensified this. The newly banded Rockets are the same too. It's like they really show no mercy at all! They are even shown to be very strong and will take effort to defeat. Sure, Red did defeat Giovanni, but it wasn't an easy task.

The Pokemon being active in the Pokeball is an interesting thing, because it allows for some clever tactics. For example, Pokemon can run in the ball, which proves to be important for Gold and Yellow for example. I am not sure if the games need to show the Pokemon in the ball, because it's a game: you don't need the same logic as real life to know.

Overall, I can say that Pokemon Adventures manga is a very wonderful one, and I hope that can become an anime adaptation, if only for comparing to the Digimon anime.

Thanks for reading.

These are reasons I like PA as well

and it's nice to see decent villains and stuff. I thought the first Elite Four was a good way to flip everything on it's head.

The Mask of Ice almost killed Silver too if I remember. It definitely feels more realistic...I just wish I could read the HG&SS chapters =/

No, you don't. HGSS was absolutely terrible.

How? I didn't read that, and the Platinum saga ones.

Thanks for reading.

I didn't read them personally, but I've read them summarized over at the Serebii forums, where they have a pretty active manga community. It was just awful. I'm hoping they fix a LOT of stuff when the volumes are released, but we'll see :/

Instead of relying on other opinions and a GENERAL overview, I suggest reading it in a more detailed and unbiased fashion.

Thanks.

The manga is the best for getting an idea of what a Pokemon world might realistically be like, imo. They go to great lengths to make things make sense. Not that there aren't moments of Rule of Cool and Rule of Funny; it's Pokemon, after all. But the villains are threatening, Pokemon and people die, sometimes in rather gruesome ways, and the physics makes a little more sense. And the plots are so much better it's not even funny.

Both the anime and the games have the advantage of not having Goldeen on land or Onyx in the ocean, though.

Have you evidence to the contrary? I know that Silver getting all the plates in one scene is just unacceptable, as is their alternate ending in which Togepi evolves and Arceus just flies away.... Everything was so obviously rushed. Also unacceptable is the WEAK plot regarding Lance's kidnapping. You don't have to read the manga itself to get a feel if its good or not, I don't think. :/

But like I said, perhaps the volumes will be better than the magazine version.

I cannot have any evidence, for evidence requires fact, and I cannot supply a fact when whether or not the chapter is good or not completely depends on an opinion. I am simply telling you to actually read it so you will be able to properly form your own.

Some arcs are better than others, obviously. But any plot from the manga beats the game or anime versions.
