Default Man robs banks for health care

Source

This is really sad. Poor guy has like 4 medical conditions and can't work for the mounting bills that he can't cover. :(

I wish America hadn't increased its dependency on foreign countries in the past few decades sometimes. Then we wouldn't be more involved with what's going on around us and more concerned about our own citizens. I also wish that money (lots of it) didn't matter so heavily on whether or not people can live another day. It feels kind of bad when I see people asking for money to survive on the subway, I can't tell if they're lying and being greedy or if they honestly need the money.

Also, I liked this comment in the video:

And it really does not seem like the Government-Provided healthcare is helping, does it?

Medicare and medicaid. It's on the chopping block, remember?

Edit: On second though, I don't get Titanium's post either. He seems to be criticizing actual universal health care despite the fact that this man did such a thing because he's not within the bounds of such care in America. That would be an argument for universal health care, like every other developed country in the world.

Ah. It's a valid criticism, considering the resitrctions and limitations medicare has. It should be of concern to you as well that medicare is on the chopping block, as it would also affect you as well. I'm not entirely sure on what your viewpoints are for these issues, though you know mine.

I am a German, Brit, and American citizen... I hope it won't affect me that much. xD

I hope you're not wording this as if you have three individual citizenships, because it's nearly impossible at your age.

The only way I'm even aware it's possible is if you were born from an American family on an American base in Germany and then lived in England for 5 years to be eligible, which then would still take 1-2 years JUST to become one.

And I'm not even completely sure of THAT.

Depending on the country, you can sometimes have dual citizenships. I'm Canadian/Hong Kongian for being born in HK and living in Canada for >15 years by now. I'm making the assumption that he could have been born in say Britain and moved to America, hence satisfying the requirements for a(n illegal) dual citizenship, considering that America doesn't take dual citizenships.

Born by an American family in England (hence Brit and American), and then moved to Germany for 8 years (of German decent, so I was able to =D).

Wait, in America, prisoners get free healthcare but others don't?

... where's the sense in that?

Anyway, I swear Obama was going to implement something like the British NHS, where everyone gets free healthcare because it's paid for in taxes?

But either way, I agree with TED. That's quite cunning, when you think about it.

He wanted to, Republicans wouldn't have any of it.

Really it's not so much a problem with Medicare or Medicaid as it is with the ridiculously high cost of health care in America. We pay way more and get less than other countries, and I'm not sure that anyone really knows why, but I don't think it can be simply attributed to just Medicare or insurance.

Someone is obviously eating all the money.

Seriously I agree with you and I don't know where all that money is going either. I know in some cases, it really is going all the way up to people that are getting so much money that they can eat it for breakfast and still be well off.
