Fan-Made Live Action Pokemon Trailer: Pokemon Apokelypse!

Check out this fan-made live action Pokemon trailer! Be warned, it’s not your typical Pokemon adventure. Titled “Pokemon Apokelypse”, the creators of the trailer described it as “a fan-trailer responding to the common trend of ‘dark and gritty’ reboots of popular franchises.”

This was meant to be a funny parody, so don’t take it too seriously. It looks like a lot of work was put into creating those Pokemon in CG, and it’s a shame that most of them only appear for a few seconds in the trailer.

Watched this last night, and I think I died a little inside.

Computer animation or not, the acting was cheesy and stupid, and if they were going to go through all the trouble of that, then they really should have gotten better actors, unless they were trying to go for the humorous approach (and in that case, then they should have really looked into actually making it funny). I've seen Pokemon live action movies on YouTube before, and they were all stupid on extraordinary levels. This, hate to say it, even if it looks like more work was put into it, the end result was essentially the same and no less ridiculous than the junk on YouTube where people actually dress up as Pokemon and beat the stuffing out of each other with chairs, golf clubs, and whatnot. In the end, this was neither funny nor thrilling.

Besides that, sure, the Pokemon may have been computer animated, but the Pokemon themselves look hideous, ESPECIALLY Pikachu. For a dark and almost eerie moment, I actually found myself hating the electric mouse I've come to know and love, and I think the only relief I could find was to deny that was actually a Pikachu (which in truth, arguably wasn't). When it was finally over, I just rolled my eyes, wondering how anyone could have spent so much time creating something so lame that will probably only give Pokemon fans a bad name. Hate to say it, but the movie critics of Rotten Tomatoes would have a field day bashing this to pieces if it were to be an actual movie.

Sorry if I come off as sounding a little extreme, but really, leave this kind of thing to the professionals.

I thought i read somewhere they spent 2 days filming or something like that... and it's actually good to see something aimed at adult fans of Pokemon rather than all the kiddy ones 4kids brings out.

Hate to say it, but this essentially wasn't aimed at anyone. Adult Pokemon fans usually can't stand Ash and crew because of his immaturity, and even the kids would probably be drawn away from the cheesy adult acting. Even to an adult, the kiddy stuff 4Kids brings out looks like salvation compared to this.

I think just about anyone and everyone can find at least something to dislike about this movie...

I still believe it was absolutely f*cking amazing. I do agree with Neo, however, that some of the Pokemon just looked like crap.

That being said, it was nice for a parody...but as I watch, horrible, horrible recollections of M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender come back and I pray to God that an atrocity like that will never happen again.

So, satire is good. But if crappy Hollywood directors take this seriously, someone will be shot...

Neo, you missed the entire point. They were mocking crappy action movies. And the CG is because... okay, that was actually just them sucking, but hey, whatever.

I was actually about to throw a fitrage when I saw the whole thing, but with CG they could have made Pikachu look a lot better and cuter :x But the thing was, at the very last part. I think that Wh*re was Misty?

I have never approved of people trying to reboot Pokémon as a blatantly Darker And Edgier version to make it more 'mature', and I don't approve of it now. It's basically exactly the same as every other attempt ever made, except this time they're cosplaying and they're attempting to be funny. If it's any explanation, the phrase I kept repeating while watching was "This is awful. Oh, God, this is awful..."

ok really Wow... that preview was a waste of my time... and what the hell... pokemon is barely surviving... putting this out would definite send the franchise packing ...maybe even permanently ...i got nothing good to say about this except that it kill that Pokemaniac inside of me. (-_-) ...really??
