Save files? - Pokemon Forum

I've got Ruby and Sapphire for my DS. When I start a new profile, save it, turn it off and go back on it later, it says "the save data has been deleted..." This happens for both games.
Any way to stop this?

Maybe the save file is corrupted, where did you buy them by the way?

That may be the reason because i bought a used FireRed and it happens to me also.

I bought them from Play.com. They're good for games though, I got Gears of War 2: Limited Edition for the same price as the original game, and it was new.
Some of the...covering thing on the cartridge that says "Pokemon Ruby" and the red background was slightly torn when I got it. Sapphire's fine though.

The same thing happens with my Sapphire, which was also bought used. It probably is a corrupted save file.

I think that have heppened to me before too =P But If you go through the game to the second city and save, I think it will work

I've seen sometimes where people use AR's and other ways of "hacking" PKMN games and ruin their abilities to save. This is why If I can I buy all my stuff Brand new.
I've still got Brand new copies of FR, LF, Sapphire, and Emerald (Even a near new Crystal version) barely out of the box and multiples.

I do that so I don't have to try to find them later.
Which is what I do with new games too.

but I would say someone put it through waaay to many paces.

Same thing happened to me.
I got my Pokemon Saphhire game from Ebay.com
It took 3 days to be delivered and I saved the game after the first battle.
Then I went back on and the save file corrupted.

it could be the fact the diffrent region don't save on diffrent region ds
example PAL copy of game with American ds

It's alright.
zlpqlz was right the save file dosn't corrupt when you get to Petalburg City.
Besides, I am up to victory road and now the game is boring because I need to train for ages to beat the elite four and the champ. I don't play sapphire anymore.
