The first time I played Silver I named him "???" because he said his name was "???" after the first fight.
Now he's called "Lol! He" so that it says something like "Lol! He sent out Sneasel!" and stuff.

I always name him silver. that's what i called him in the Original games, as well as calling teh girl in Pokemon Crystal herself Crystal. (I usually stick with thsoe sort of names for them...i dunno why.)

Similar threads were done before. I think I started a couple of them. But, I'll answer. I give my rivals names that are similar to the colors of the games. That way when I trade between them I know which game the Pokemon came from. The same is for the hero of each game. Here's the list:

Hero Names:
Red / Fire Red: male: Redeker

Green: female: Grendel

Blue: male: Bluko

Yellow: male: Yelchin

Rival's Name:
male: Oran

Hero Names:
Gold / Heart Gold: male: Goldwyn

Silver / Soul Silver: male: Sylvan

Crystal: female: Crysten

Rival's Name:
male: Bronzen

Hero Names:
Ruby: male: Ruben

Sapphire: male: Saffir

Emerald: female: Emily

Rival's Name: Can't Be changed
