I meant to write "Ryan is even more inactive".

I think something needs to happen with the Mods because I'm trying to get the current Pe2k Ladder stickied as the old 5 month inactive one is still stickied. Most of the people on these forums have school/college and are probably going through the same thing

You could always PM a Global Mod GreenEagle. I think they can do that stuff.

Things happen. Even though inactive, they are back up - they can be called upon once contacted to fill in for another mod should something come up, or until a new mod can be appointed to that position.

Being active isn't the only requirement to be a mod; you also have to be patient, follow the rules, specialize in an area (since mods usually govern one or two sections), be nice, and most importantly; have fun!

Quite frankly, they were probably active early on in their mod career, and were excellent members. But then college and jobs kick in, and oftentimes you are simply too exhausted to get on. But when they do, they perform their duty to the forum.

Every little bit counts. They shouldn't suffer just because the real world caught up to them.

...Okay, rant over XD

You know, I used to have altariaking's mindset...

Until I got a job and a life. Even mods have lives that need to be attended to with higher priority than a little forum.

That's not even counting college (for the mods and guys in college).

Plus, I don't think being occupied with life for a couple of months should justify a demodding. Heck, I haven't reffed a battle in URPG for like two years now but I'm still listed as a ref. Not as high ranking as a moderator, but still. Just trying to push a point.

Yeh, I used to think the same aswell. But, yeh you know, same story as everyone else really. I got stuff happening for me, and I can't be on as much as I would like.

But, that's life. Stuff happens, and other stuff can't happen. You can do some stuff, but not some others. Meh.

That's actually not true. Having inactive mods doesn't stop new people from being modded. There's no set amount of mods.

As for the issue, nothing can be done about it while Ryan's away. And having inactive mods there doesn't really hurt anyway as like I said, it's not like they're taking up a mod spot that someone else could have.

So really, demodding inactive mods doesn't help. The issue is more finding people who would make good mods that can be added to the team. =)

Haha, now this is a funny topic. Just because a mod isn't active doesn't mean they deserve to be demodded.

I happen to have University, a job and other things that require a hell of a lot of time. Most people have busy lives outside the forum. They could be away for months or years on end, but if and when they come back they'll still be the good mods they used to be. And if a section needs more mods, we'll just make a couple more.

Unfortunately, nothing can be done until Ryan returns which might take a while. n___n;

If all inactive mods were demodded, then Ryan himself would have to be demodded.

Ryan, in the few times he's been on, has always said that he doesn't expect mods to be active. He doesn't even expect mods to really do anything more than just keep the place relatively clean (as in it would be okay if mods never helped organize forum events/activities and so on). A mod that only showed up once every three months to lock a thread or move something would be perfectly fine in Ryan's opinion and would probably stay a mod even by doing that bare minimum.

The very few times he has demodded someone was because they either requested it, they made an official announcement that they were leaving the forum, or because their "Last Activity" date was well over a year ago. He's also very, very slow to decide to remove old mods, and needs to be completely convinced they're gone for good.

Also, we really don't need to remove mods if there's no problem with how things are being run. If this was a case where the current active mods couldn't keep up with the intense level of activity, then the consideration to exchange inactive mods for new mods might happen, but at the moment, there's no need for that as the activity level is only very minimal at this time and the current mods have no problem keeping that under control.

Most mods for every site, forum, or game are A.F.K to be precise. Believe me, I have known a few personally.

I don't get why you're so eager for inactive mods to be demodded. Like Sarah said, it's not like they're taking up any spots for potential new moderators. They're not doing any harm. :3
